  1. I don't think i could have supported a new club, either way. My heart is with this club, if it goes, my support goes too. I would just be a normal football fanatic but with no club to feel attached to.
  2. Murrays already pulled that moonbeam. They had a chance with Lampard, perhaps even they thought that was too unrealistic!
  3. Over a decade before we get a big name outwith Chelsea, even that was 7 years or so ago. It's not great mate. I would like us to aim for one every year, a blue chip friendly at home every summer to capture fans imaginations and get us into the mood for sitting at the big boys table again.
  4. Even if they budgeted for 51000 sell outs every week we would still run at a loss i suspect.
  5. Newcastle are not the kind of club we are talking about mate. They are a nothing club in comparison. Did we play Arsenal at Ibrox Brahim? It's big money spinners at the Brox we are talking about mate.
  6. Not anymore anyway, he's dead.
  7. The big clubs do tours of Scotland all the time but they tend not to play at Ibrox for some reason. It's the wee clubs they choose to play. Dundee, Utd, Hearts, Hibs etc etc. Rangers have never really had huge glamorous friendlies at Ibrox on any sort of regular basis, Chelsea maybe being the biggest and only one i can think of in recent times.
  8. Winning the top tier title whilst Kenny Miller is still playing is about as unlikely as me pumping Michelle Keegan, it's just not going to happen. That's stuff our staff should not be talking about in public, especially when we are at least a full year away from even competing in that league.
  9. God, can you imagine the uproar. Tbh though i would like someone with decades of experience in the lower leagues in England, it's a very good market. Just not that guy.
  10. We have many fans with this mindset too sadly. I agree next year will see an Ibrox implosion, i don't think there is any doubt about it.
  11. Celtic do it, in the real world. They made around £750k from a match against Real Madrid, a full house, with tens of thousands of Celtic strips on display, expanding their brand awareness along the way. They also made at least £1m for a separate round of pre-season matches in the USA as well. We don't have that draw nor the brains and ambition to sit at that table. They made more from a pre-season list of fixtures than they got for their placing the SPL one year too. In the real world millions can easily be made from a good pre-season.
  12. I am clinging onto the hope that they don't believe they can sack a title winning manager, despite what we can all see with our own eyes mate. By all accounts Green wanted him gone. I have asked myself many times why is he still in place and do accept it is a failing of the board, absolutely. A board who are absolutely clueless about football btw. Not one football brain amongst them. That annoys me too.
  13. But how is that the boards fault mate? They have backed Ally more than every other manager in the country. I'm at a loss how they can still fund his 'habit' when we are running at a loss. It's incredible support for a manager utterly out his depth. Perhaps that's a more justifiable and applicable crime. Backing a dead horse.
  14. I'm not so sure mate, both clubs are in utter turmoil, Hibs especially, i think we will beat both comfortably. Both have new untried managers too. Those 2 will struggle with the clubs who are every year first division clubs imo. We are going to run away with this but it obviously won't mean we will be ready for the SPL or that Ally has turned a corner managerially, it's just default. We have spent enough to ensure we gain promotion. Our test again will be in the domestic cups when we draw the Dundee Utds, Celtics and Aberdeens. The rest are cannon fodder.
  15. Every team mate. In the last 2 years we have had some of Scotlands poorest teams coming out and taking games to us, passing us off the park, fancying their chances and even taking points off us.
  16. Why would that be the boards fault mate? They don't pick the team. No one has any idea what sort of budget the club can afford next summer so it's slightly premature to have the axes out for the board already. If the club can't afford to compete with Celtic then we can't afford it. It's as simple as that. If this board matched Celtics spending just to satisfy fans egos and it took us back to the brink again, how would people feel? We simply cannot live with Celtic financially, we haven't done for some time now.
  17. Of course it was. Also, why have the tax payer/council paid for a huge walkway area called "The Celtic Way" with a huge Celtic crest on it? How did they get away with that? Seriously think about that for a second.
  18. We will be taking on Hearts with half of their old team. Lol. Hearts old boys v the Hearts young team.
  19. In your opinion, obviously i disagree. He is a bombscare and liability. Sent off at least 10 times in his career and giving away countless penalties. He is horrendous. Had the cheek to knock us back, fails at Leeds, gets released and then the brass neck to come back here begging for a contract. Shame on Ally for even entertaining him. A lazy unsurprising signing.
  20. Poor kids. One has to feel sorry for youth at Rangers.
  21. Please refrain from putting words in my mouth Frankie. I did not call him a pathetic fool. "is a fool" is what i did say. The word pathetic wasn't used until a few posts later in a different context when i said he went running at the call from BBC. That is pathetic, imo. Neither descriptions infer anything to do with live TV situations. I kind of agree with the rest of your post though.
