Executive management leading us to the slaughter, short and long-term !
buster. replied to buster.'s topic in Rangers Chat
There are many contracts and many actions since 2012 up until the present day that have been questionable regards the interests of Rangers. These have involved all facets of the company and football club. The different boards have been 'stages' within a process that have had to work within certain guidelines that aren't in the interests of the football club. After the Long Business Review of April 2014, this board could have spent some of the scarce resources available at the time to make some the necessary changes but instead went 'with the flow'. There wasn't loads of money with which to work (despite the Easdale assurances/instead he met up with Ritzvi, apparently the new Asian youth development man) but there was some and had they been seen to be addressing the situation in a constructive way, ST numbers would have increased a little. -

It was the board that allowed this situation to develop and fester. Good executive management should look to be proactive rather than reactive. Our board would appear to be neither where the interests of Rangers are concerned. -

In the aftermath of yesterday, I'll give this thread a bump because I think it is very much to do with what we saw at Hampden on Sunday. -
Trying to take a step back and look at the last few days...... 1. RFB board pass by majority a 'Vote of No Confidence' in the RIFC board (this appears to spark the RIFC board into communication). 2. Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears as though RIFC quickly look for a meeting with RFB under the condition that one or more of the members don't attend due to Rangers Board Members not trusting the individual(s). (Why not put it back 24 hours and have more members attend) 3. The notes from the meeting seem to repeat and produce more holes regards the RIFC position and on the whole are unsatisfactory answers that don't even begin to address the issue of 'No Confidence'. 4. Forlan: Stick in there and don't let them provoke you into leaving at an important juncture. 5. Rather than division and squabbling that will get us no-where, let's push for transparency whilst RIFC are on the backfoot.

Quite apart from the issues of who did and didn't attend, there are many holes in what makes up what was discussed at the meeting.

Not all members of RFB were aware of or participated in the meeting due to a number of mitigating factors, such as: - a request for confidentiality by Rangers Board members - the timelines in which the meeting was called - RFB member availability - communication challenges --------------------------------------------------------------- Unless FS was on the moon and 'incommunicado', it would seem as Rangers board members don't trust or want to engage with a Fans Board Member who is clear in his wish for more transparency. This might be considered as an unsubtle push to provoke RFB member(s) into a cycle that leads to them leaving the board. -------------------------------------------------- Rangers Board Members:.... 'Communication and engagement with whom we deem suitable' Now it's some elected representatives that aren't included, never mind other fansgroups.

If I'm reading that correctly, it sounds like it might be the first step to individuals on the RFB getting marginalised or even sent on their way.

CB, you hit on what is the main issue amongst many. The executive decisions aren't being made in the football club's best interests, short or long-term. -
Yesterday morning there were rumours from several 'in the know' posters on FF suggesting that there are a couple of loan signings on the way from Newcastle Utd. Obviously, nothing happened on Friday and if such deals were to go through it would have to be at a date when they could have no influence on the League Cup semi-final. Let's go with the rumour for a minute and say they were to sign on Monday. I'd have to ask why not sign them on the previous Monday prior to the semi-final at Hampden ? You could ask a similar but more important question about Kenny McDowelll and why is he still in the dug-out despite resigning, patently not wanting to be in the job and having been prepared to infer that the RIFC board were misleading the fans when making their statement about Novo ? The board have recent previous when it comes to pitching an unhappy McDowell into the hotseat for a vital match. We know what happened at Easter Road that day, we were lucky to come away with a 4-0 defeat. So coming back to tomorrow, the boards, whether it be Sandy Easdale, chairman of TRFC or the collection of what many regard as malfeasent numpties who sit around the RIFC table,.... don't seem to be that interested in allowing or giving Rangers a fighting chance in Sunday's game. Not appointing a new first team manager in present circumstances is to my mind negligence. Are they writing off the Celtic game and preparing the ground for next week and a new manager with a couple of the only thing that comes from MASH/Newcastle, 'loans' ? Or perhaps my imagination doesn't grasp the scale of their disinterest at a time when John Carver is confirmed as caretaker manager of Newcastle for the rest of the season following four straight defeats. Maybe I do the board a disservice, as I forget for a moment their all too obvious priorities. Perperation for the League Cup semi-final started some weeks ago with the Sports Direct commemorative T-shirt for reaching the semi-final. I don't imagine many reading this will have bought one but don't worry, I'm sure the 293rd richest person in the world will have Rangers paying for unsold stock. Maybe he could make enough money to offer us another loan with largely what should be our own money,..... again. Bottomline is that we have a rudderless, discontented football club (other than for the interests of Sports Direct) and the board not only haven't lifted a positive finger but seem intent on pissing off supporters and staff to boot as we head towards Hampden. We might aswell of had a board of McNally, Phil3names and Haggerty. They couldn't have fecked things up as badly for Rangers as recent RIFC boards have, both generally and particularly going into this game.

The post quoted below was made an hour or so ago on TSFM by a Hearts supporter who is as objective as you could reasonably hope for and is no fool. It points to moves being made by someone to have documents removed from the web. Aswell as subject matter, what is interesting is the timing, after they'd been sitting there for months.
-
I think this is a time to focus and look forward, playing the ball from where it is currently situated. The RST are presently very active, aware and seem to be providing leadership at an important juncture.
-
Ignoring the specific circumstances regards the Novo situation............ I could understand moves that were made to save money, eg. an executive decision to charge anyone who wanted to use club facilities, including ex-players. But only if this income was geared to wholly benefit the club. However what present austerity is geared towards, is to allow Sports Direct to take a huge chunk of our commercial and retail income and have the club just about get by. History combined with current events (matchday income dropping like a stone) tells us that this plan is ambitious in the extreme.
-
Whatever the policy on ex-players using the training facilities might have been and whether there is a change in it or not, isn't the main issue to take from this latest stramash. For me there seems to be two main points. 1. A player who had been allowed to train at Auchenhowie for several weeks, seemingly without a problem is instructed to pack his bags because he had just joined a supporters organisation that seek to buy shares in RIFC (note that 'Rangers First' aren't overtly political). 2. In a statement on the official site, the club would seem to brazenly lie to the support and are prepared to use the Fernando Ricksen testimonial within the deception. What this re-enforces and further highlights is the lack of honest connection or engagement in any way whatsoever from the boardroom to the support. We have a board whose interests are more Sports Direct than Rangers and a support who are only interested in Rangers. It doesn't work, at least not for Rangers.

Football and that includes UEFA and FIFA is first and foremost, a vehicle for commercial activity. However there are rules, regulations, laws and moral lines that the relevant authorities shouldn't allow to be crossed. Apart from the questionable methodology or route that may yet be examined closely by authorities followed by actions. Ashley appears to want to push a macro MO of controlling a financially distressed football club by debt and creaming off the retail and commercial revenues. If he can pull it off, I wonder if he intends to repeat this with other clubs.

The role of Easdale is mainly a front and IMO the real power behind proxy block decisions/strategy comes from within proxy block. A good part of this block have probably been involved since the beginning, I'd say certainly those with the power. Their main goals are protecting their own interests which will include onerous contracts put in place back in 2012 and preventing forensic accounting that seeks to expose wrongdoing.

That's a given, this is more about newspaper sales and clicks.
-
Did Ashley really want those shares ? His MO is to get as much commercial and retail value/revenue out of us as possible but at the mimimum of cost. Providing loans is power and he also gets his money back. If the SFA were prepared to call him out on an obvious MASH Holdings breach in the agreement they had with Ashley, they now appear like their bluff has been called and the insipid leadership have kicked the can down the road hoping it will all go away.

North Korea v Burma would be dawdle compared to this. Don't sing X, Y and Z Don't take flags or banners Don't offend anyone Don't drink etc. Accept being treated like a human behaviour experiment (HBE) for a regime who are good at removing civil liberties on the quiet. A HBE that includes discrimination within legislation against football supporters compared to some other sports. Oh and in this experiment we don't pay you, you pay.

The following is an excellent CRO piece on KBA which provides further information. http://www.thecoplandroad.org/2014/09/what-was-mike-ashleys-preferred-pr-firm.html#more What Was Mike Ashley's Preferred PR Firm Invoicing Rangers For? A PR firm which acts for Mike Ashley at Newcastle has invoiced Rangers for fees despite doing no obvious work for the club. Keith Bishop Associates (KBA) are closely linked to Ashley and list Newcastle Utd as a client on their website. It is understood that Charles Green claimed to Ibrox staff that KBA were retained as part of the Sports Direct retail deal. The invoice below, along with others over what is believed to have been an initial 16-18 month deal, was received by perplexed Rangers employees who queried it. They were told by then Finance Director, Brian Stockbridge, that invoices from KBA had to be paid despite no explanation being provided about what work KBA had done for Rangers. After Charles Green left the club, Stockbridge was instructed to travel to London to terminate the contract with Keith Bishop but Stockbridge returned with the contract still in place. Sources have told CRO that Club employees were disgusted that at a time when costs were being cut all over, and people were losing their jobs, these invoices were taking money out of already stretched budgets. KBA were invoicing at a time when Jack Irvine's Mediahouse were also retained by Rangers as expensive PR consultants. There is no suggestion that Ashley himself received money from the deal but the employment of KBA was linked to the Sports Direct deal which Charles Green agreed with Ashley. Newspaper reports in recent days have claimed that Ashley was handed the naming rights to Ibrox by Charles Green for only £1 and it also now appears that Ashley has full control of all of Rangers Retail operations after the club shops were absorbed by Sports Direct. It appears unlikely that the deal with Sports Direct will net the club nearly as much as the previous retail deal with JJB, which was also heavily criticised as being undervalued. Rangers fans are likely to be further concerned that this PR firm linked to Ashley could have received payments in the region of £10,000 a month despite most people at Ibrox having no idea what, if anything, they did for club. It is not clear if KBA are still receiving money from the club or if the contract has now run its course.

Good to see some of the past Llambias involvement with Rangers being spelled out. Not forgetting, the man who over 2 years ago signed off those invoices for KBA (non-existant PR) was the same man who Llambias entertained only a couple of months ago at the 5 star Mar Hall Hotel, one Brian Stockbridge. Stockbridge who at the time of signing off the mysterious KBA invoices (there was a contract in place) was not only RIFC Finance Director but also represented Rangers (alongside Green) on the Rangers Retail board.

Extraordinary circumstances often require an extraordinary response. Our club is teetering on the brink of completely losing it's soul to Sports Direct and the Ashley MO. If it tipples over that cliff, then shares won't have the same emotional value. It would be an empty shelll of a club that is going no-where and will exist to service onerous contracts.

I'd prefer the likes of Lambias and the Leach to fcuk off and take their lies with them. They not only shouldn't be there (SFA rules/agreement) but they are furthering the interests of Sports Direct at the expense of Rangers*. Cutting back every last cost could be understood if it wasn't an attempt to allow SD to be able to cream off as much as possible. You mistake your 'enemy'. * They are directors of TRFC and Rangers Retail Ltd aswell as RIFC

Kenny McDowall opens up on the Nacho Novo row and insists: "I was only doing what the board ordered me to" http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kenny-mcdowall-opens-up-nacho-5060509 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Kenny McDowell in one line has already destroyed the RIFC board statement on Novo. Q. When do you know the RIFC/TRFC boards lie to us ? A. Whenever they open their mouths (actual or electronic). It has been plain for a longtime that the board hold us in utter contempt but they seem to get more brazen with the passing of time. -------------------------------------------------- Novo on twitter @nnovo1010: they are unreal liars but even worse using Fernandos name as a excuse is disgusting me , idiots
