  1. Come on. Let's calm down for goodness sake. If we are relying on Morelos to enable us to beat Ross County at home then we may as well say adios to our league chances. Defoe is a top class striker. Just make sure what's happening behind him facilitates his talents as the service to him over the last few games has been criminal. To me, that's a bigger concern than whether Defoe or Morelos are starting.
  2. I have to agree tbh. As someone with an Irish wife and Irish grandparents from Dublin, I've spent a lot of time in Ireland. From personal experience, people are understandably very mindful of their own history but the overall mindset is one that is looking to the future rather than looking back. I've no doubt other people may have different experiences
  3. Totally forgot all about him. Where did he go and did he do well?
  4. Jesus wept. It was said in jest buddy.
  5. That's a lot of anti's. Can we all just not get along? ????
  6. I believe Forlan was specifically about the right side of the team? Apologies for any confusion
  7. I'm don't think Polster was liable for their goals?
  8. Agreed but Flanagan aside, we still had enough on the park to win that game
  9. I would suggest the fact that literally none of players turned up or showed an ounce of urgency had a greater effect on proceedings than the shortcomings of our "rookie" manager
  10. Are there's such people as Tav haters? I know he got some stick earlier in the season for some very high profile mistakes but surely that doesn't even go close to cancelling out the good stuff he brings to the team?
  11. Hi Stevie. I know this is the wrong thread but what's the word on the street...? With regards to player activity...?
  12. Whatever our squad needs are, I'm pretty sure Cummins is not the answer On top of that, he is a certified loon ball. (Apologies to loon balls out there)
  13. Not sure if that's the problem with our midfield tbh. I feel we need more variety. For me Jack, Davis and Kamara offer much the same thing. Tidy possession play and a good fulcrum for the way the team operates. It's nice on the eye but what concerns me is the lack of threat from all three. We have 3 midfielders that will be lucky to get 10 goals between this season.
  14. You're probably right. I think Polster has played a lot in midfield before coming to us. I like the fact that he got his head up and was always trying to pass forward. For someone with so little game time, he could have easily opted for the safe options.
  15. I'm not quite sure Bearger was openly stating he was a waste of money? Was he not just asking if we think he has delivered (based on the price tag and what we've seen so far). I think he was also implying that he would like to see more from him. I don't think he would be alone in that thinking tbh
  16. I agree but I also see where Bearger is coming from. I suppose much of the scrutiny of this one player is probably derived from our financial situation over the last 7/8 years
  17. I think you're a tad harsh on Kamara. He was poor today but has been excellent in some key games domestically and in Europe. IMO slower paced games suit him more. Maybe he just had an off day today due to the pitch and the frantic style of game but I feel he potentially could become a scapegoat for some fans due to somewhat languid style (and bargain bucket fee)
  18. It seems a rather reasonable enough question IMO.
  19. Apart from the result, the biggest disappointment for me was our lack of urgency. I genuinely hope it was just a blip and these guys haven't been reading their own press after beating the Tims. Beating them hands down at their dump will become a distant memory if we have nowt to show for it
  20. I tend to agree Bearger. He has shown some genuine touches of class but IMO he needs to work on his decision making and consistency. I suppose the litmus test for me would be how much would we get for him in the current transfer market? I doubt we would get much more than we paid for him. I know that's based on only half a season but in the same time Barasic's value has multiplied by 10. He is young though and hopefully he'll be a big player for us in 2020
  21. Only positive for me was that Polster looked half decent. His distribution was good IMO
  22. I suppose a striker is only as good as his service. We were shit today and offered Defoe very little in the way of quality
  23. Agree with the manager. There was a point in the 2nd half when we were all over the place and didn't know whether to go long or play out. The midfield need to do more in an attacking sense IMO. Davis, Jack and Kamara have been great but they offer very few goals. It puts a lot of pressure on Defoe, Alfie and Kent
