Match Thread [FT] Rangers 1 (Lawrence 14) - 4 Lyon

It's not as black and white as that. It is clear that Lyon (who spent over 150 million) are miles ahead of a CL team like Slovan Bratislava for example. -

I'm still waiting to see signs of a style. Tonight we passed the ball out to our full backs who simply hit long and hopeful balls into the box from deep positions. It was like watching a game from 2 years ago -

Everything we do is too slow. We take about 30 seconds to take all dead balls and throw ins. -

These spells will get longer the more we play together. We have a new unit of players that we need to let develop. -

Considering what's happened this season I'm struggling to see how you've watched that game and felt we lacked composure. I thought we were brave and progressive. Obviously our finishing could be far better but a new team will take time to develop. There are so many positives to take from tonight. Barton, Diamonde, Barjami, Nana, Souttar and Propper. -

Clement has not lost an away game in Europe. Betis, Benfica, Kiev, Malmo. -

You can stuff your relationship up yer arse. Take a bow Rangers. You were great tonight. Should have been 7-0. -

I see they've shipped a few goals at home in Europe... -

Interesting...but surely it has a weakness? Overloading one side of the pitch suggests that they are leaving space elsewhere to exploit. -

When Cortes was brought in originally, all the talk around was stating that he was a right winger? -

Confused.com... Is that a 4-4-2? Who plays on the right? Cortes? 3-5-2? Tav on the right side of a 3? Please help a confused fan... -
Is it time for a fresh approach?

Tav has to go. Full stop. Or I fear it will be the end for Clement. -

The cup final is a good example. IMO we should have won and as far as I can remember we nullified most of their biggest threats (O'Reilly, Kyogo, Maeda). -
The general consensus from Sundays shambles seems to be that most fans whilst utterly disappointed, are in no way surprised. We've seen this film before with the same ending too many times. With that in mind, is it to have a drastic rethink about how we approach these games? As much as a high press is laudable, it appears to me to play right into Celtics hands. How many times have we seen a combination of 2 simple passes and we're cut open like a knife through soft butter? I get that PC wants to play a certain formation but for me it's horses for courses. What if we set ourselves out to be hard to beat instead of trying to go toe to toe? What if we adopted a versatile 3-5-2 with the potential to easily convert to 5-3-2 when defending? It still could provide width with our full backs (not Tav) and makes us compact and stuffier to break down. God knows we need to try something new. ----------Butland--------- -----------Souttar--------- ---Neraysho----Propper-- Sterling‐--------------Jefte -----Barron--Diamonde--- -----‐-----Bajrami--------- -----Dessers----Danilo----

Just saw the videos of the Rangers fans shouting at the manager and players. Deary me. Are we determined to provide the Tims with more ammunition? Thats bloody embarrassing.

Had he not literally played every game for Twente before joining?

Today was another sore one in what has been a catalogue of painful defeats at the hands of our closest rivals but we need calm heads. We have effectively asked our manager to perform open heart surgery without an anesthetic and we need to give him time. We've brought in a lot of players in at one time so we also have to show patience on that front to. Get behind the team! IMO, it is clear that Clement has a few major decisions to make. He has to make a call on the captain. Tav is miles off it has become a liability. I would also be actively looking to move Butland on in the winter window. He's a decent keeper but nowhere near as good as some think. If we can get 8/9 million, I would take it.
