  1. You DID misquote and bow your changing the narrative. I don't think we were favourites to beat Benfica (that's 3 games at Ibrox against them in the last few years and we are yet to defeat them). If we had a fully fit and firing squad, we would have had a better chance of beating them. Putting things into perspective, going into the game tonight they were 4tg or 5th favourites to win the competition, whilst we were 14th. If you think we should be beating Benfica, that's your perogative. Others see it different and are entitled to.
  2. @Uilleam here is what I wrote in it's entirety - you deliberately misquoted me for whatever reason. As i said previously, I'm proud of the team - up to you if you are or not
  3. I am proud of the team and we didn't trouble them. What part of these two simple statements are you struggling to understand. Proud that the team should real effort against a team that were better than us in all areas (hence we never troubled them). If you fail to understand that then I can't make it any more simple. Puh-lease..... indeed.
  4. NO, the only parts that you chose to highlight, not that mattered. Anyway, I'm proud of my team tonight, entirely up to you if you are as well, or not, as the case may be.
  5. Obviously and you only quoted part of what I sadi.
  6. Proud of rhe team / players for the effort put in tonight. We didn't look out of place against what is a quality team full of quality players. Lack of fit and in form forward / creative players was really evident tonight. We never troubled them and never looked like creating anything never mind scoring. Onwards and upwards and Sunday was always the more important game.
  7. Loathed to be critical of any of the players or performances due to the conditions and the undoubted quality of the opposition. Game and progression still in the ballance .
  8. Rangers 1 v 1 Benfica Tav FGS
  9. This subject was always going to rear it's ugly head again. The undeniably facts are that most big clubs (and some smaller ones) in Scotland have an issue with a certain element of their fanbase. We are no exception and until we can get our own house in order (which we had for a while) we can't say or do anything about other clubs. I remember writing a piece many moons ago using Northern Ireland fans as an example of how a loud, passionate and proud support could reinvent itself without losing the pride a d passion. The Blue Order and Union Bears have reintroduced some old classic Rangers songs and the UBs have invented some new classics as well. But as the article says, if we continue to sing TBB, 50p Flute, Bobby Sands and berate a player who was obviously in distress on the field of play, we continue to give our detractors open goals. But hey, the "We Are Rangers and We'll Sing What We Want" fans will ensure we will continually be under the spotlight.
  10. A very impressive press conformance from Gaffer and Captain. Shows how focused and determined both are. As for the game, I doubt we'll have what it takes to defeat Benfica given the injuries we have, but Thursday nights at Ibrox tend to throw a curve ball or two, so who knows! Either way, I'm nervous already and can't wait for kick-off tomorrow and the possibility (no matter how slim) of another magical night at Ibrox.
  11. Possibly the 1st great Ranger outwith the Gallant Pioneers
  12. The JL show again 😀 Goal and an assist and thought he was overall, our best player closely followed by Souttar.
  13. Neil Lennon said it was - Michael Stewart more bitter than Lennon or Lennon turning 'staunch' in his old age? 😀😀
  14. Michael Stewart has his say on today's refereeing decisions at Easter Road....
  15. Appears Ryan Jack is injured onc again. This has to be his last season for us.
  16. Bill is obvious choice as right winger......
  17. Other than penalty, yes. The 2nd yellow and red card were obvious decisions. Its easy to criticise refs but McLean got all major decisions correct. I thought pen was soft until I saw replays, so Referee did well to spot it. I'm sure VAR would have given it of ref missed it.
  18. Thought that after a shaky start Lundstram and Souttar had decent games. Silva outstanding turn and finish, but othet than that and being into semi-fianl, not many more positives. Onto Thursday now, hopefully PC can cobble a team together
  19. I don't know - hard to argue with the penalty or either of the red cards. I think only Michael Stewart has an issue with them. John Collins on BBC saying referee got all 3 decisions correct. Tells its own story.
  20. Terrible performance and further injuries to contened with, but into the next round. All that matters at the end of the day.
