Again, your blaming Tav and Tav alone for us not winning a trophy. Clueless managers don't tend to go a league campaign undefeated of get to European Cup Finals beating the likes of Dortmund along the way. "Clueless managers" but class players who know a player when the see one. For the final time, "clueless managers" or not, I'll still listen to / agree with their assessment of Tav as a player over yours every day of the week. Its embarrassing how some Rangers fans think, we have one of the top performing RBs in Britain / Europe (check his stats) yet he's a "dud" and the reason we never win trophies. Tav's time at Rangers is up, he'll move on at the end of the season and we'll need to nominate a new whipping boy.
-
So as great players, they think Tav is a player and a leader, yet you don't, and we've to believe your assessment over theirs? This time with no respect, aye right, think I'll pass. Dud? https://footystats.org/players/england/james-tavernier Maybe the new custodians should stop their search for a new manager and give you a call..... 😁
-
No, and he's far from a dud. Again, with all due respect I'll listen to SG, Gio, BF and the likes who sing Tav's praises rather than the opinion of wee Shug the plumber. Also, when did football become a one man game?
-
So Stephen Gerrard, one of the greatest midfield players / captains of his generation was wrong to make Tav captain and play him continually? So Gio, a European Cup winner, World Cup finalist and wonderful midfield player was wrong to make Tav captain and play him continually? So Barry Ferguson, best home-grown Rangers player for a generation (at least), decorated Captain is wrong to make Tav captain and play him? With all due respect, maybe Gio, SG and BF know what makes a Ranger and a Captain more than wee Boab the joiner? If we had more players with Tav's attitude, numbers, fitness etc in the last decade, maybe, just maybe "he" wouldn't have seen off 7 managers.

I'm not at the game tomorrow due to family commitments but hoping for a continuation of Wednesday's 2nd half performance. Also congratulations to Tav on his 500th appearance. Haters are gonna hate, but that's a fantastic achievement. -
When he moved to CB, the defen e immediately improved. He brought a sense of calmness as up until then, the defence was all over the place. I said on the MOTM thread, this was what enabled us to get back into the game. As others said, with Ridvan at RB, we went narrow (almost a 4-2-2-2) that allowed us to pass through the Killie press. I believe that's the 3rd or 4th time he's moved to CB and performed well. The only downside is we don't have a fit RB to take his position.
-
For me it was between Tav, Cerny and Dessers. Tav moving to CB stabilised our defence which then gave us a platform to build and get back into the game. If only we had a RB we could play Tav CB for remainder of the season. Cerny has been the player who always looks likely to get us something. Took his goal well and was involved in most of our good attacking play. Dessers led the line brilliantly, set up the 4th goal with a great touch and scored 2 goals (equaliser and goal to give us the lead which suggests he does, in fact, score "important " goals). Now on 20 for the season after bagging 22 last season. Gone with Dessers.

1 without looking at their historical accounts which is something I would rather avoid I can't really say. 2. Not to long. If, as is being reported that the consortium will pay of the debt. We generate over £90M annually. If they can quickly sort out our structure and get a decent coach, winning a two horse race becomes 'doable'. Then we have access to the CL riches. They also mentioned capitalising on merchandise which is another easy and quick fix. If you haven't listened to the podcast I posted, I'd recommend that you do. In less than 30mins you'll get a very good insight into what to expect (if they mirror Leeds investment). The only long-term disadvantage is ground capacity and the increased revenue they have from that.

Interesting to hear Barry say in his interview on SKY that he's always believed there is a player in Dessers. You are correct, 2nd half he was unplayable. The touch for the 3rd goal was brilliant and his finish to make it 3-2 gets better every time you watch it. 22 goals last season and already on 20 this season - fair play to the big-man.
-
Correct with the exception of Igamane in my opinion. He was on the edges of the game but didn't really spark. Dessers does Dessers things. Misses chances he should score but still gets 2 - his second was a sublime finish from a wonderful pass from Ridvan. Tav was great at CB and seemed to steady Propper who was struggling alongside Nsiala.

Oh, I'd agree with this - especially retro-style kits etc.
