  1. We shouldn't entertain anything less the £8M for Butland. Given its Rooney and Birmingham, maybe nothing less than £15M. West Brom Loyal 😀
  2. Clement told us in his interview he is more-or-less sticking with what he has inherited. Said he likes to work with players and developing them rather than having a large turnover during transfer windows. I don't think our board can promise any new manager a "war-chest" as one simply isn't there and at this point in time, we have very few sellable assets.
  3. He doesn't/didn't! He made a point of saying he is not the type of manager who wants wholesale changes (players wise). I thought it was a very good 1st public interview, no soundbites, the 4 pillers is an interesting concept and telling he said he wants players who aren't afraid to make mistakes, but when they do, the react the correct way. There are too many of our players who have adopted a 'play safe' attitude ad they are terrified to make a mistake as the crowd automatically get on their backs. I'm not expected mega-change player wise, just a change in attitude, fitness and mentality.
  4. So Clement's first public press conformance is gonna have some / certain people raging! Every player gets a clean slate, he will work with what he has squad / player wise and Tav remains captain. Good luck Phillipe 😀
  5. All players have their price - someone offers £20M for any of our players, there us only one outcome.
  6. Oh there's no doubt the vast majority of fans will back him. However let's not kid ourselves, if he doesn't hit the ground running, there will be fans calling for his sacking 😀
  7. @Rousseau now needs a poll as to when and who will be the first Gersnet member to want him sacked. Welcome to Rangers Mr Clement
  8. All go down Ibrox way apparently, announcement in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...... Keep you eyes peeled
  9. Aye, until the Scooby Doo gang storm the press conformance and unmask Clement and low and behold, its Paul Le Guen In all seriousness, it looks like a good appointment
  10. Reports down south suggesting we are interested in appointing Sam Jewell as DoF - that would be some achievement from thr board.
  11. The delay is that neither Bisgrove or Bennett can win by two clear points at rock, paper scissors to decide who gets to select new manager.
  12. We need to get away from this weird fascination of giving or wanting to give important roles at the club to ex-players. Neil McCann - great player, great pundit but failed at almost every role he's had in football after a fantastic playing career. Craig Moore - another who had a great Rangers career biut done nothing of note after retiring as a player. Neither are remotely close to DoF material. Only "ex-player" who I'd approach is Davie Weir but we are very unlikely to tempt him away from his role at Brighton.
  13. Come on Rangers, announce something, anything - well apart from another new kit 😆
  14. Miller were definitely involved as know someone who worked for Miller at the time.
  15. I remember the figure of £40M being banded about at the time and it always seemed a very low figure (the club deck cost us circa £20M in the early 90s. I know its not compering like for like, but it gives you a comparison.
  16. We can undoubtedly get a manager who is better than the last three (at least). However it remains to be seen if Clement or Muscat prove to be better (I think we all hope they are).
  17. If you believe what is being reported, then Clement is the board's favoured candidate but he still has an offer from Saudi. So even if we are to offer him the job then there is no guarantee he'll take it. Given that, would Muscat accept knowing / thinking he's the 2nd choice? Either way, I just hope this is concluded soon.
  18. If I could remember where I kept them, I'd go back and look at a couple of articles I penned for No1 Fanzine and this site regarding Murray but in all honesty I can feel my anger rising just thinking about him and his "legacy". I can't remember when the alarm beting to ring for me, but think it was reading The Gubs articles in FF. I think he was the first or one of the first to predict the inevitable outcome. I'm also sure there was a time when he tried to bring the "fanzines" in-house - no doubt to edit out the growing criticism of him in both zines (and I'm sure the zines were outselling the match day programme).
  19. Maybe it's just a reaction to where we've been recently, but I can't get excited about either candidate. I'll give whomever gets the job 100% support and hope and pray they'll be successful.
  20. Has he been sacked yet?
