  1. Great 3 points - on to Saturday (if it's on!)
  2. Are we deliberately playing at a slow pace, then having a sudden injection of pace? Not a criticism, just noted that we are more methodical in our build up. Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent unplayable at times and but for poor decision making / finishing and good goalkeeping we'd be out of site. Ref being very lenient with St Johnstone, should be a couple of players on yellows. Great time to get the opening goal, more of the same in 2nd half.
  3. Rangers 4 v 0 St Johnstone Alfie FGS
  4. Saying 2 positive tests and awaiting results of other PCR tests. Those in close contact with the positive cases also require to self isolate for 10 days. Not a betting man but if I were, I'd bet game called off tomorrow or Friday
  5. Think Bielsa may get a bit more time but they are in freefall. Aston Villa on other hand are up to 9th (I think).
  6. Ooft what a strike - Man City looking like they could run up a cricket score.
  7. Yeah, they are looking very impressive this evening.
  8. Decent words from Joe Cole 🗣️ Joe Cole's comments on Rangers and the Europa League draw against Dortmund: "Ibrox is the factor here, you need to go away and keep it tight. "If ever a fanbase has been starved of these nights, it's the Rangers faithful and they will make a noise, they will make it a cauldron. "The big problem is stopping Erling Haaland, some of the top defenders in the Bundesliga and Champions League haven't worked out how to do that. "So van Bronckhorst, you've got to have a game plan, maybe stop the supply into him, suffocating at source. "It's an intriguing tie, it's probably the most difficult tie they could have got but they will embrace it and it's going to be a fantastic night at Ibrox. "Where is your club at the moment? I don't think Glasgow Rangers, with all due respect, expect to win this tournament. "They have been unbelievable, Steven Gerrard was able to do a great job there, and van Bronckhorst has come in and hit the ground running. "It's just about the occasion, if they do go out and beat Borussia Dortmund, with the great players they have got, these lads become even greater legends in the city and club. "Glasgow Rangers are a few years away from competing at this level, because they have come from a low point over the last 10 years. But it's a fantastic club, a fantastic city, and European football is all the better for having Glasgow Rangers at this stage in the competition."
  9. Interesting and slightly concerning. However, if Mr King has a spare £30M I'm sure he'll gain sufficient support to "rejoin" the board 😀 I'm sure Mr King will make his intentions clear through whatever media channels he deems acceptable.....
  10. In the main, I like what I've seen of Lundstram but agree, it's difficult to see where he fits into our team / formation. Roofe is the most intelligent striker we have, he see' s things others don't and would say he is the 2nd best finisher we have behind JD. The only comparison I have between Roofe and Itten is like a Rolex and a Timex. The question is do we prefer a Rolex that needs the odd repair or a Timex (perfectly reliable but not a Rolex)..... 😀
  11. Exactly this, we have as a fan base always done this!
  12. Trouble ahead? Surprising news and why is it being leaked to likes of The Sun, Herald etc? FORMER Rangers chairman Dave King has launched a sensational bid to return to the Ibrox board and aid the ‘further development’ of the Premiership champions. King stepped down from his position as chairman in March 2020 after announcing his intention to bring an end to his reign at the Annual General Meeting the previous November. And Herald and Times Sport can reveal that he has offered his services to the hierarchy of RIFC plc as he attempts to gain enough support around the top table to earn a boardroom seat. #Rangers #RangersFc #rangersfamily
  13. All areas in blue available for OF game. Anyone fancy chipping in and purchasing a Gersnet section? Maybe the section next to Green Brigade?
  14. I think we need to add Ryan Jack to that list - after this latest set back, thinking we require a replacement for him.
  15. Spoiled for choice as a collective quality team performance that had more than a few quality individual performances. If Scott Arfield and managed to convert of the two chances he had I'd have gone for him. Went for Joe Aribo for his goal and all round play.
  16. Acht well, Europe parked until February, concentrate on the league until then give it our best shot. Think we've done well in Europe again this season so no disgrace if / when we are knocked out. League is #1 priority
  17. We have a decent recent record against Porto and Portugese teams, would take them above any of the others. Alternatively, Barca for the glamour and money (ticket prices, travel to away leg, sponsorship etc) then bow out gracefully and concentrate on the league.
  18. I'd happily trade the LC and SC for the league title EVERY season. Gio is yet to manage us in a cup tie, so you can't compare. We are and were always going to drop points this season and every season, it's inevitable, it happens to every team. We drop points last season even when we strolled the league. I've stated in every post, the early signs are positive but for anyone to say Gio is a better manager than SG after 5 games is utterly ridiculous, and that was the question you posed and I (and others) answered.
  19. Fret not, the compliance officer will be all over it.
  20. We might, we might not have lost points today if SG was still the manager, we'll never know for sure. When SG left us we had lost 1 league game in 52 (iirc), not a bad record and doesn't point to us losing many games. We done nothing new today. The long ball from Goldson was something we utilised under SG on many occasions. I'm not downplaying the start we've had under Gio, in fact I'm on record as stating that in opinion Gio can be an upgrade. However, it's up to him to continue the good work of the previous manager and backroom staff. But Gio hasn't taken over a team who were struggling, we were top of the league, we were well placed in Europe, we were in a semi-final and they had assembled a great squad of players. Not a bad starting point for the new manager and his team.
  21. We'll never know, we might have turned it around under SG. It's the same players, same formation and same tactics (with little tweaks). The major difference is that Gio has taken over when we are in a position of strength and has inherited a fantastic squad.
  22. 1 defeat in 52 league games tells a different story..... If Gio and his team have the same record (or better) this time next year, we can start making comparisons. However the early signs are encouraging.
  23. Eddie Howe and Newcastle Championship bound?
