  2. Highlight from Easter Road yesterday was the 5 minute rendition of Penny Arcade, with some dubious dancing from the Bears, just prior to half-time. :robbo: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ0swaDjI8c]YouTube- Roy Orbison "Penny Arcade"[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6mh5bFhmeo&feature=related]YouTube- corby rangers club (they love penny arcade)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hoSnGmQqTc&NR=1]YouTube- Sons Of Ulster Shankill-Penny Arcade[/ame] Cammy F - Penny Arcade Loyal :spl:

  4. From what I've heard, and this backs up some or the rumours currently on here, we are playing Newcastle at Ibrox and will be invited to play in the Wembley Cup - it'd be a hoot if it were us, Chelsea, Hamburg and Linfield Cammy F
  5. The Greatest Fan(nies) In The World, don't you know..... Cammy F
  6. Got my tickets ordered so hopefully meet up with any fellow gersnetters who are attending....! Myself, BillMac, Wee T are all gersnet members who are going to TBO dance (amoungst others) so there will be a fair few of us! Cammy F
  7. A true blue who played for the club he loved. Davie, Oh Davie Cooper, Oh Davie Cooper on the wing. Cammy F
  8. Profligate and talentless? We must be witnessing different Kenny Millers. Not a good footballer? Again, must be witnessing different Kenny Millers. He is no less profligate or talentless than Nacho Novo (whom I love to bits) who the vast majority of us (me included) are quick to gush with admiration over. He is as good, if not better player than Kyle Lafferty who is also gushed over as appartently he's seven foot and plays the flute. A player defended by many due to the fact of his country of birth - an absolute disgrace IMO. However, like any player playing for the Rangers, I want Lafferty to succeed. Cammy F
  9. Yip MoJo had has named chanted on a few occassions, usually after he scored against the tims! Great to hear Millers named being chanted - he deserves it as hes played well since his return. Cammy F

  15. The Scottish League Cup has not only changed names over the years (due to sponsorship) but it has been the domestic cup competition that has also changed format on more that one occasion. I am just old enough to remember the League Cup kicking off in (sectional) group stages which were ditched for the more standard ââ?¬Ë?knock-outââ?¬â?¢ format in season 1984/85. It is also a competition that has served us as a club well in the past. Given that, it is no surprise that many of us will have a special memory of the League Cup Final (the 1984 3-2 victory against Celtc was my first ever OF game), and it has served up some fantastic games over the year (my particular favourite would have to be the 1988 final against Aberdeen). We as a football club have an exceptional record in this competition that gets labelled the ââ?¬Ë?diddy cupââ?¬â?¢ (unfairly in my opinion) in some quarters. Today marks our 33rd Scottish League Cup Final appearance since itââ?¬â?¢s inception in 1947, winning 25 times (everything crossed for victory number 26). Below I have recounted not only my favourite League Cup Finals, but those that have marked ââ?¬Ë?firstsââ?¬â?¢ in my Rangers supporting life : 1981-82 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 2 v 1 Dundee United - my first ever League Cup Final that was secured thanks to goals from Davie Cooper and Ian Redford. 1983-84 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 3 v 2 Celtc ââ?¬â?? my first ever Old Firm game saw us winning the cup against Celtc thanks to a brilliant Ally McCoist hat-trick. Iââ?¬â?¢ll never forget the Celtc end (half empty) cheering Bonnar saving Allyââ?¬â?¢s penalty, only for McCoist to ram home the rebound. 1986-87 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 2 v 1 Celtc ââ?¬â?? our first trophy of the Souness era and a game that marked the ââ?¬Ë?turning of the tideââ?¬â?¢ in our favour. Durranty scored the opener and Davie Cooper winning the game from the spot. 1987-88 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 3 v 3 Aberdeen ââ?¬â?? the first of two successive unforgettable League Cup Finals against Aberdeen saw us secure this pulsating game thanks to penalties. The stand-out memory of the game was Davie Coopers thunderbolt free-kick that Bandy Leighton almost saved on its way back out of the net! 1988-89 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 3 v 2 Aberdeen ââ?¬â?? the second instalment of the unforgettable cup finals against Aberdeen and prior to the game, the experts predicated that this game couldnââ?¬â?¢t live up to the previous years final. Well, it did! The game came weeks after Durrantââ?¬â?¢s horrific injury at Aberdeen and a last minute McCoist goal secured us the cup. This should have been the 1st part of a treble but after securing the title, we were cheated out of the Scottish Cup. 1994-95 ââ?¬â?? Raith Rovers 2 v 2 Celtc ââ?¬â?? McStay missed a penalty ââ?¬â?? enough said! 1996-97 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 4 v 3 Hearts ââ?¬â?? a game played at Torbett Towers in terrible conditions that served up a great game. Neil McCann played wonderfully for Hearts that day but thankfully Gaza played a bit better and helped secure us a tight victory. 2001-02 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 4 v 0 Ayr ââ?¬â?? Rangers u8nder Dick Advocaat were at times an utter joy to watch. Witnessing Kanchelskis stand on the ball in the most extravagant ââ?¬Ë?show-boatââ?¬â?¢ ever in a cup final was priceless. 2002-03 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 2 v 1 Celtc ââ?¬â?? now under the control of Alex McLeish but still playing some brilliant football, we destroyed Martin Oââ?¬â?¢Neilââ?¬â?¢s Celtc for the fist hour of this game. Celtc came back into the game and missed a late penalty (thanks John Hartson). 2004-2005 ââ?¬â?? Rangers 5 v 1 Motherwell ââ?¬â?? The Davie Cooper Cup Final and a performance and result to grace such an occasion. I am sure other fans will have other cup finals that they prefer and that hold significant memories for them. Letââ?¬â?¢s hope that todayââ?¬â?¢s final delivers some more fond memories and another reason for us to love the League Cup Final and the first step to a glorious treble. 16. Haha - I'll look out for you! Cammy F
  17. Think thats where our RSC are heading - I'll try (weather permitting) getting the banner(s) out on the railings at the back / beer garden on the pub Cammy F
  18. Hi Guys, Just a short post to say that I hope to have one, or maybe both, GersNet banners on display at the cup final on Sunday. Cyber pint for anyone who spots them down Hampden way on Sunday Cammy F
  19. I had almost forgetten about the altercation with the 'long arm of the law' relating to the MOPES pelting the ball boy with objects as he patrolled the front of the broomie. Plod's response? No, it wasn't to identify and punish the culprits, but to stop the ball boy from performing his duties. That was after about 10mins of trying to demonstrate and explain to Plod what exactly was going on! Cammy F
  20. Just over a season ago we had to listen to Mr Liewell harp on about sporting integrity - this was when we were forced to play 5 games in a short space of time, a season where Liewell used the tragic death of an ex-celtc player to get an OF game cancelled due but then p155ed on the memory of a celtc legend. Now we have the same person complain about referees and now complaining about the state of Falkirk's pitch - where is your sporting INTEGRITY now Mr Liewell? Feelin' your pain... Cammy F
  21. I won't mention any names, but I expected better from them And their 'dancing' to the 'jazz'ed up' version of Follow Follow at the end of the game left a lot to be desired Meant to post this earlier in the week but I have just sobered up :spl: Cammy F
  22. Another OF triumph for the Rangers over the forces or darkness which results in another week of the media bleating about perceived injustices all against the MOPES. Lets get one thing straight here, we deserved our victory over the MOPES as we outplayed, outfought and outthought them and the all the refereeing decisions certainly didnââ?¬â?¢t favour us. Scott Brown (i.e lego eater) deserved his red card ââ?¬â?? it was for violent conduct and head-butting an opponent in the chest is certainly violent conduct. Only one option for the referee - a straight red card for Brown, as a result of this incident, the media have tried to shift the spotlight, and blame on Kyle Lafferty. His only crime in this incident was to be attacked by Brown. Next up, they complain that Boogie should have walked for ââ?¬Ë?persistent foulingââ?¬â?¢ of Robbie Keane. Perhaps they have a case, but no mention of the persistent fouling for Nââ?¬â?¢Guemo, including a ââ?¬Ë?nether regionsââ?¬â?¢ high assault on Kris Boyd. He certainly committed as many ââ?¬Ë?foulsââ?¬â?¢ as. Again, no mention that Kamera should have received a 2nd yellow card for diving in the first half, or of the stone-wall penalty that we should have received with Hinkle fouled Edu in the box. It could also be argued that our disallowed goal should have been allowed to stand as Kenny Miller inadvertently handled the ball whilst trying to avoid a Celtic boot taking his head off. However, none of this evidence suits their agenda. There has also been little said about the disruption of yet another minutes silence by the MOPES and their repugnant ââ?¬Ë?welcomeââ?¬â?¢ to a true hero, Simon Weston. The entire Celtic end chanting ââ?¬Ë? Argentinaââ?¬â?¢ as Simon was presented a Rangers jersey. These ââ?¬Ë?peopleââ?¬â?¢ never fail to outdo themselves when it comes to showing themselves up in front of the watching nation. However, they do this in the knowledge that all or most if it will go unreported and unpunished. Back to the game itself and once again Walter Smith for all his deficiencies managed to set up a Rangers team to defeat Celtic. We were all over them like a rash for the majority of the game and deserved our victory. It is hard to single players out in occasions like this but Thompson, Davis & Weir were outstanding and the rest of the team were not far behind. We had no real failures with everyone involved contributing to the performance. One of the most pleasing things to come from Sunday was the players and staff reaction to the goal. This just reemphasised the team spirit that we currently have with everyone galvanised behind the club. In these uncertain times, itââ?¬â?¢s something that we must endeavour to keep to the forefront. No doubt the agenda driven media will not give us the credit we are due for this season, but that makes it even sweeter, we can feel their pain. We might not be firing on all cylinders at the moment, but we are continuing with the momentum that should see us deliver our first back to back league triumph in a decade and we are also in pole position to land another historic treble. Lets keep focused Bears and lets ensure that this season ends with a glorious treble (almost unthinkable given the financial restraints we are currently operating under). Best moments from Sunday (in no particular order) : Kevin Thompsonââ?¬â?¢s rattling tackles in the opening minutes Kevin Thompsonââ?¬â?¢s rattling of the ball into a certain Mr Kameraââ?¬â?¢s nether regions Mo Eduââ?¬â?¢s 40-yard thunder-bolt of a finish with virtually the last kick of the ball to secure our well deserved victory! The jubilant scenes that followed that winning goal Meeting West Brom and Scotland midfield player Graham Dorrans on the way out of Ibrox Debating whether Robbie Keane & Adian McGeady were actually playing Watching Frankie doing 'cart-wheels' when Rangers scored (see other thread!) Listening to the drunken gibberish spouting from 'senior' Gersnet members through the entire game Cammy F - Better Late Than Never Loyal RSC
  23. No doubt all this to be funded by Glasgow City Council. Cammy F
  24. It appears that Kris Boyd is in the dark of these 'talks' http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2009/12/08/kris-boyd-i-m-in-the-dark-about-new-rangers-contract-talks-despite-club-s-claims-86908-21881847/ Cammy F
