If Boyd was going to offered a new contract, he'd have signed it by now. If Boyd was going to be offered a new contract, Rangers wouldn't be whoring him around at every opportunity. We are trying to sell him whilst he still has 'some value' (as he is under contract). If we don't, or Boyd refuses all advances, he'll simply depart on a free next summer. How do I know they won't be offered new contracts? Well, Martin Bain has been tasked to reduce the wage bill even further and trim the first team squad. He won't do that by not selling players (or letting players go) or by handing our new (and improved) contracts. Maybe I have just grasped the reality of Rangers FC circa 2009 - less than 24 hours until the transfer window closes and we still haven't added to our squad. Still no cover at centre-half, still no genuine width and for the first time in living memory that we haven't signed even 1 player. Cammy F

Rangers 4 : 1 Hamilton - Player Ratings and MoM Poll

As part of the financial cut-backs at Ibrox, a very select few players (if any) will be offered new contracts. Boyd (and for that matter Novo) are amongst those who won't be. Its about time that we all realised what a financial mess we are in. The debt has risen to over £25M and growing, and thats despite having CL money this season. Just because we wish Boyd to stay forever, doesn't mean its going to happen. Peter Lovenkrands has offered to take a £3K per week contract to resign for Rangers, yet we can't even afford that. Yet we expect one of our mid-to-high earners to be given a new (and improved) contract?????? Cammy F

Boyd will leave - whether it is this summer, January or next summer is the only point up for discussion. He is out of contract next summer and will not be offered a new deal. Cammy F

The Beautiful Game - Leaving the working man behind
CammyF replied to Norris Cole's topic in Rangers Chat
Therein lies the problem - the RSC's only get these inflated numbers due to the fact that season ticket holders aren't signing up in the same numbers for away games, especially your Kilmarnock, Motherwell etc where RFC get a decent allocation. If more season ticket holders signed up for away allocation, the RSC's would get less tickets - simple.... Getting back to Tynecastle, was speaking to a friend who got a ticket for the game from Hearts. He said that when he first applied for Tynecastle last season they took contact details from him. In the lead up to the latest game at Tynecastle, he received an email from Hearts asking him if he wanted to apply for this game. A simple 'yes' to that email ensured him a ticket. Wonder if it would have been as simple if dealing with Ibrox... Cammy F -

Tickets for Tynecastle came on sale around the time of the Arsenal tourniment IIRC. We got extra tickets from Hearts the week of the game. Our RSC only ever has spare tickets if we are dealing with Rangers / Ibrox. As explained above, Rangers just shunt all extra tickets the way of the RSC and leave them to get on with it. Take Killie - our allocation is always around 30 - then add that to another 20 memders getting tickets thro their allocation - thats 50 tickets for Killie, a ground that is never close to capacity. Try shifting those outside Rugby park on a cold, wet, wild winters Sunday when most of the Rangers fans are either warming themselves in front of a fire or sitting nursing a pint in a pub. There is more to the Rangers support than the RSC's, but given the hard work, commitment, financial pressures and et al heaped on RSC's, we have to do whats best for our RSC. Again as stated above that means dealing with anyone apart from Ibrox. Cammy F -

You have the same opportunity to buy tickets for Tynecastle as we (our RSC) do. I know plenty fans who bought them for Tynecastle, Easter Road, Falkirk et al. Who's to say you'd have gotten a ticket if Rangers were dealing with the allocation? The ballot system is a lottery. As someone who helps run a RSC I have to do what is best for my RSC and for its members. That means the less we have to deal with Rangers / Ibrox the better. Having had to stand outside EVERY SPL ground (Torbett Towers) apart in ALL weathers trying to sell spare tickets, missing the start of many a game in the process, whilst I sympothise with you, I still believe cutting out RFC / Ibrox benifits RSC's. Wouldn't help the situation as all the club do is overload the Rangers Supporters Clubs with unwamted tickets. We receive over 30 tickets for Kilmarnock and most, if not all of our season ticket holders get them in their allocation. This leaves RSC's with extra tickets and means that they either run at a loss, or have to work their arses off trying to sell these tickets. In fact, as a club, it is far easier dealing with other clubs for our allocation than it is dealing with Rangers. Also, with other clubs dealing with the Rangers end tickets, it is more likely that real fans will get these. In fact, I know for a fact that we secured extra tickets for Tynie on Sunday late last week and these came out of tickets that were supposed to be held back for a certain Rangers employee We have now gotten a network of contacts in most SPL ticket offices and are more than happy dealing with them directly to secure the required amount of tickets for these games. I would be better for us as a RSC if we didn't have to deal with Rangers Ticket Office. Cammy F -

Tickets aplenty outside Tynecastle on Sunday. Even last week, for the SPL opener you could buy tickets for our game right up until kick-off. Cammy F -
Numerous missiles thrown at Boyd - that corner is always the same at Tynecastle, I believe it's where their 'hard-core' are housed. Cammy F

Thatââ?¬â?¢s What Iââ?¬â?¢m Talking About On exiting Tynecastle on Sunday I found myself reinvigorated, brimming with pride and buzzing with excitement, and I bet I wasnââ?¬â?¢t the only one. Grabbing a last minute winner after being down to 10 men for almost 80 minutes at a venue where victories are notoriously difficult gives you as much, if not more enjoyment than an easily achieved 4-0 win. It isnââ?¬â?¢t only the circumstances of the victory that buoyed this old cynic it was the manner of the victory and performance. What I witnessed yesterday, especially in the 2nd half, epitomises Rangers. There was a determination to triumph in the face of adversity. There was character seeping out the pours of every one of the 10 heroes in that 2nd period as well as a good old (dare I say Protestant) work ethic that would put most of us to shame. We can discuss the performance of the officials and scrutinise every contentious decision and come to the conclusion that they got far more incorrect than correct. We can bemoan the lack of consistency and we can bemoan the objectivity of the media in the face of this ââ?¬Ë?controversyââ?¬â?¢. Some fans, rightly or wrongly are claiming that Scottish referees arenââ?¬â?¢t just inconsistent but are corrupt (thatââ?¬â?¢s another discussion for another day). What we canââ?¬â?¢t deny is that Rangers deserved the victory. The 2nd half performance was immense. At times it appeared that we were the team with the extra-man and we were the team playing the football and pushing to initially equalise, then to win the game. In a perverse way, the decision to red-card Thommo actually worked in our favour. It galvanised the players and may have been the inspiration required to spur the players into the brilliant performance. Walter Smith must also take some credit for replacing the worryingly ineffectual Fleck with Smith at half-time. A changed that was decried by the majority of Bears in attendance but not just a justified change, but one that gave us the platform we required. Going 3-4-2 ensured that we bossed the midfield and allowed the tireless Miller some company in the forward line. Stevie Smith, for all his faults, does offer an energy required to get from box to box and his appearance did give us a natural balance. He also sent in a great ball for the equaliser which was dispatched brilliantly by our new goal machine Lee McCulloch. Big Lee has his detractors, but he has started this season well and I can see him getting a lot of game time this season, especially in Europe where he be deployed as the ââ?¬Ë?holdingââ?¬â?¢ midfield player. The old saying that is a funny old game is certainly true and weââ?¬â?¢ll all have evidence to prove this saying. The latest one for me came on Sunday. There is no secret that I am not Kris Boydââ?¬â?¢s greatest fan. I appreciate that Boyd will score goals, that canââ?¬â?¢t be argued with. I just believe that he should offer more. Anyway, when he entered the fray in the dying embers of the raging battle I shouted, ââ?¬Ë?come on Kris, do what you do bestââ?¬â?¢. See, no matter what I write in fanzines, or message-boards, I do offer 110% support to the team / players during the game! Anyway, low and behold with his first touch of the ball he flicks on a long clearance which SN latches onto and is fouled. PENALTY. With his 2nd and possibly last kick of the game, Boyd does what he does best! One last word on the game at Tynecastle, a huge round of applause to the Rangers fans who were in attendance. The support these people give canââ?¬â?¢t be overstated. In these financially uncertain times, where every penny is critical and in the face of aggressive Policing and Stewarding, the travelling fans are an absolute credit to the club. The song sung at the final whistle on Sunday really summed up events on the pitch and the fantastic support shown off it, yes that is why we are champions. Jam Tarts Donââ?¬â?¢t Do Irony Donââ?¬â?¢t know if any one else has noticed the newest ditty sung by Hearts (and Hibs) fans when we face them? ââ?¬Ë?Weââ?¬â?¢re from the capital, youââ?¬â?¢re from a shit-holeââ?¬â?¢. Now, sitting at Tynie on Sunday with the raining pouring down, the dilapidated stand offering no shelter, I had to wonder what the Hearts fans definition of a ââ?¬Ë?shit-holeââ?¬â?¢ is? I know this is just football banter, but come on folks, I think everyone of us has seen Trainspotting! Celtc And Their Obsession With Rangers I think that we all know that the vast majority of Tims are obsessed with the mighty Rangers. This is a mixture of envy, hatred and loathing but I didnââ?¬â?¢t really appreciate the extent of this extended to the ââ?¬Ë?clubââ?¬â?¢ itself. Due to driving through the A80 road-works ever day I have taken to listening to Real Radio for the travel reports and have caught the advertisement for the new Celtc 3rd strip (the bumble-bee strip). Anyway this advert states something along the lines of the following ââ?¬Ë?the first time around it stopped 10-in-a-row, imagine what it could do nowââ?¬â?¢. There it is folks, they are so desperate that they have to use US in their advertising. Imagine having to pray on their fans bigotry, loathing, hatred and envy of us to shift some strips? The Beautiful Game - Leaving the working man behind
CammyF replied to Norris Cole's topic in Rangers Chat
Football isn't a drug, nicotine is. Not all entertainment is overpriced. On Saturday, we took our nephew for the day and it cost us a total of £20 (for the entire day). We had him to the local steam railway and it cost us a pound each for entry then we went to a local park to feed the ducks. Most of the £20 went on the 'picnic' and if I'm honest, it could have cost a fraction of that. Football isn't a necessity, it is an option or a past time. Helping running a RSC has opened my eyes as to what some people chose to sacrifice to follow football. If you are lucky enough to be able to afford football then you take it for granted that everyone there can afford it. That is not always true. Cammy F -

if the decision we got wasn't a penalty then it makes up for the other two that we should have gotten - the big centre's grappling of Miller in the box and same player who handled the ball back to his keeper. Cammy F

Total Cost for myslef and Mrs Cammy to attand Tynecastle yesterday : £70 Tickets £23 x2 Bus £8 x2 Chips / Juice £4 x2 We are, thankfully, in a position that we can afford this expense, but there are many who can't. That's £70 for ONE game and Tynecastle being one of the few grounds where a pre-match shandy is not readily available - add that to £400 pounds for a season ticket, and the same expense for EVERY away game and football can hardly sell itself as the 'working mans' game. Football is overpriced. Cammy F -

Isn't it refreshing to see that after the demise of Sentanta that BBC Reporting 'Scotland' have taken over the mantle of being the dedicated 'Celtc Tv Channel'? Once again, it would appear that Celtc were the only 'Scottish' club playing this weekend with the vast majority of the sports section dedicated to Celtc alone. Charlie Adam has scored more CL goals than Kris Boyd - the last time we were in the CL he was our joint top goalscorer. A few seasons ago, Charlie Adam scored 14 goals from midfield, making him our 3rd top goalscorer domestically. Charlie Adam form actually dropped as soon as Walter Smith took charge of Rangers. He was playing well under previous managers and I wouls argue that he was one beneficory of the PLG regime / era. He looked fit and looked a decent player. If his name was Charlio Adamino we wouldn't be having this conversation. Charlie Adam showed more prospect, form and ability for Rangers than any other 'prospect' name mentioned in this thread. Have we got a good enough squad to compete at CL level ?
CammyF replied to DJBlue72's topic in Rangers Chat
It'll depend on the group we are drawn in. Can see is winning, losing and drawing 1 each of our home games and picking up a draw away from home if we get a decent draw. Cammy F -
For every one Arsenal have coming thro, they have 10 that don't. Our acadamy isn't run to the scale that theres is so you can't compare. We will always have players who have been let go who go on to have decent careers. I can't (off the top of my head) think of one player who has came thro our ranks, been released then go on to amazing things. Hutton was sold for an amazing profit, and he hasn't set the heather on fire down south. If you remember his Rangers debut, against Partick Thistle years back, you'll remember him being woeful (subbed at half time with us losing 1-0 - we went on to scrape a 2-1 victory). You simply can't play EVERY youth player you have at your club. You have to trust the coaching staffs judgement on these players and you'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 coimg thro at the same time. From what I've seen, the best prospects we currently have are Aaron, Fleck, Wilson and Ness. If we are in as dire a financial state as we think we are, all four will feature this season. I thought Furman was a decent player, but from the reports last season he blew hot and cold in the third tier of English football. Is that they type of player we are pinning our hopes on? Is he any better than say, Charlie Adam? A player with a proven track record in Scotland and the CL? Cammy F
