  1. So becuase you don't like them, youe feel it necessary to criticsise those who have no objections to royal ensigns? As for surpressing opinions, what are you trying to do by objecting to the banner in the first place? Surely I have the right to express my opinion (through the form of a banner) the same as you do? PS I fail to see where I was surpressing your opinion - I simply said - If you don't like it, fine..... Cammy F
  2. Great article on the BBC site - http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/february/6/newsid_2535000/2535961.stm Cammy F
  3. What shit? I was the person from our club who designed the banner so I know the reasoning behind the flag, the design, the lettering and the SENTIMENT behind it. Our 'wee town' has a strong NAVAL tradition and this is why it was incorporated in the banner. If you don't like it fine, but don't try and inform me why I designed the banner like I did - who are you anyway the Rangers Supporters thought police? Cammy F
  4. What? A royal navy ensign - the royal navy that sevrs and protects Scottish people day in and day out - the banner dedicated to those from and outwith our RSC who have served and paid the ultimate price for keeping us free and with our civil liberties in tact. Yip, a terrible way to show our 'Scottishness'... Bo'ness True Blues in top corner - Crosskeys Inn in bottom corner. Cammy F
  5. on display at yesterdays Falkirk game (bought from the excellent Barmy Flags) Cammy F
  6. Shit, forgot about Gazza, Rino, Miko, Walters - need about 15 extra places on my subs bence for them Cammy F
  7. We are the people who sing of victory We'll follow Glasgow Rangers from Kilmarnock to Dundee We'll follow Galsgow Rangers our hearts both strong and true For we are the people who cheer the boys in blue Hello Hello We are the Rangers boys Hello Hello You'll know us by our noise We'll follow Galsgow Rangers our hearts both strong and true For we are the people who cheer the boys in blue ------------------- Rousing, non-bigotted and a song that I grew up singing and loving. Was sung to me (along with FF, The Blue Sea Of Ibrox, Woltherhampton Town and The Green Grassy Slopes Of The BoynE!!!) by my dearly departed great Uncle who was instrumental in me becoming a 'Ranger'.... 8. In saying that, this game takes some beating - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rj5-8M6yRA I flew out on holiday to Florida for the first time the day after this game - had a huge smile on my face the entire holiday. In fact, when I went to Disney Mickey Mouse approached me (as I had Rangers shorts on) and asked what the score was (remember this was before mobile phones, internet, sky sports etc) and when I informed him that Rangers had won 5-1 he was delighted and skipped off happy as larry. 9. Stolen from another forum, but what would be your all time non-Scottish Rangers 11 Woods Stevens Butcher Amo Numan Steven Gio Albertz Laudrup Mols Hateley SUBS RDB Wilkins Klos Amato Spackman Manager - Dick Advocaat This was done in a rush so I've probably missed a few legends in saying that, thats not a bad team....! 10. IMO this song will NEVER be allowed back no matter how much we change the 'lyrics'. By that, I mean even if we stuck to the true, non offensive, non political, non sectarian version. If it did come back as above, it wouldn't take long for some of our support to drop the real lyrics and revert back to the fenien blood version - pity cause its a great fooking song (which ironically I got to sing at the bridge on wednesday!) Cammy F
  11. Anyone remember an away game against Hibs in the mid/late 80's where we won 2-0 (or was it 2-1) and the game was around xmas time? Police came wading into the Rangers end and lifted a guy dressed as Santa only to be rounded on by the Bears? The guy was finally let off when a Rangers fan approached them and asked 'come on guys, if you lift Santa who will give the kids their presents' - seriously, it was the funniest thing I've ever seen at the football...... 12. 2-0 away win at the piggery when Clelland and Gazza scored. Game was special for a few reasons - one of the first OF games at the new redesigned Pig Sty and we only had a tiny corner of the ground. Given the above, the Celtc 'casuals' were out in force and attacked the Rangers fans who were making their way into the game via the city. Once witnessed by the Bears coming of the buses, all Rangers fans grouped together and showed the beggers who is boss (galvanised by the ICF admittedly who came pouring down Duke Street - tale is told in great detail in the Rangers ICF book). Was probably the last time we stood together for each other as a support. Fantastic display from the team that day as well - usual game at Pig Sty - they had all the ball, we scored all the goals and there was a trail of pig sick Tims from Parkhead to The Gallowgate long before the final whistle.....!! 13. Rangers 3 v 2 Celtc - Lovenkrands Cup Final Rangers 2 v 1 Celtc - Souness first trophy Rangers 1 v 1 Abergreen - winning the league for the first time in a decade Cammy F
  14. Yeah, but surprising that they can only get over 42,000 in at The Bridge - the ground / stands look massive and they have done a great job with the surrounding area as well. One thing I must say is that we were made most welcome in all the pubs pre and post match and received very positive comments on our RFC and TBO scraves - mines was left at the request of the bar manager in the Llloyds Bar at the tube station!! Cammy F
  15. Do you think Allan Hutton looks or sounds happy with 'his' move to Spurs: http://media.putfile.com/Allan-Hutton-Interview-Jan-31-2008 Cammy F
  16. Was saying similar a few weeks back - it looks like all these games are starting to take their toll in Weir. He has been a great buy and a a very decent signing but has looked suspect recently. Maybe worth trying Papac or dare I say Daily in the centre alongside CC Cammy F
  17. Stayed in Park Inn at Hyde Park - great hotel in a very central location. Even seen a King Billy statue in Hyde park !!! Cammy F
  18. I think that Butcher has been found out as a coach. Not been a success anywere he's been. Great player, but 2nd or 3rd rate coach. Have no issues with his nationality, but have issues with his abilities as a coach. Surely someone like Alex Miller, Joe Jordan or Eric Black should be considered for this post? Cammy F
  19. Was down in London for a few days this week elebrating (is that the right word!) my 40th Birthday and we took in the Chelsea v Reading game at The Bridge (Pictures to follow). The game wasn't the best, but was surprised at the very decent atmosphere given the fact that I'd thought most of the 'hard-core' Chelsea fans had been priced out the market (we paid £53 pounds each for our tickets - thats face value direct from Chelsea!!!!). What really stood out for me tho was the pace of the game. Both Chelsea and Reading had players with genuine pace and ability going forward. Chelsea have Anelka, Cole, Malouda and SWP who were superbly supported from midfield by Ballack. Given the way the game is played in the EPL it is no surprise that a few teams believe that Hutton and Cousin will be suited for the ELP. Both are big, strong and can play football. Anelka for example, played the lone strikers role but also drifted out wide and back into midfield and allowed players like Cole, SWP and Ballck to get beyond him and pose a threat. All in all, a decent game but still butted I missed our semi-final!!!! Cammy F

  21. But the actions of SDM and his underling Bain over the last 5-7 years have proven that we are a selling club. The list of players sold off under various managers is astounding - Arteta, Ferguson, Boumsong, Hutton, Lovenkrands, Cousin, Tugay, Albertz to name but a few. Where did all the transfer money go? it certainly didn't go back into investing in the squad. We have weakened our squad in every transfer window except this summer in the last 5-7 years. If that doesn't make us a selling club with little or no long term ambition then I'm Sir David Murrays lovechild. Also, as Frankie says, it is the manner in which we do our business that is a worry. We are not just talking about transfers, but we are a mess from top to bottom at the moment. Areas like PR, Ticket Office, relationship with fans (or are we customers) etc leave a lot to be desired. And as Frankie says, welcome to the forums. Cammy F
  22. Cool - Cammy F
  23. Excellent article Frankie and one very important question to come from Bains continued missmanagement is where Cousin will stand if UEFA don't sanction his move south (can they still sanction this after the window has closed?). Will we as a support welcome Cousin back into the squad knowing full well that he'd rather be playing in a relegation battle in the EPL? I bumped into Allan Hutton at Stanstead Airport on Tuesday and we was like a wee boy lost. I didn't know whether to approach him but finally did and I got the impression that he had his heart set on staying with Rangers. Get the feeling that the lad was pushed out the door and this reaks of the Barry Ferguson transfer to Blackburn. Wonder if we'll get Hutton back at a reduced price in 18 months? It is obvious that Celtc have tried to strengthen their squad - whether they have is another point and we'll only know the answer after the next month or so. IMO we haven't strenghtend, we have substantially weakened our squad. Hutton has been brilliant since WS took over and IMO, Cousin was starting to find his feet, and more importantly, his way to goal before the window opened. 2 or 3 injuries or suspensions to players like Fergie, CC, JCD will leave us brutely exposed - this shouldn't be used as a excuse if we don't win the league, but under SDM we have turned from one of the richest clubs in Europe to a selling club with little or no long term ambition. Cammy F
  24. Christ Del, even you're better than Charlie Boy Cammy F
  25. Villa didn't 'bin him' he was sold for over £4M...... Having seen a fair bit of NI's European campaign Davis stood out along with Healy as the best players that they have. He was outstanding in the victory over England and set up Healy's winner. Will be a very decent addition to the squad IMO and we really need a creative midfield player that can take some of the workload from Fergie. Cammy F
