Frank de Boer would have been welcomed but was not interested at this time. The fact is the younger coaches have failed to stand up above the old gaurda or are not interested. Peter Bosch at Ajax would also have been a candidate but again he is not interested at this time. Just to make it clear though Advocaat is a short term fix just to finish off the EK qualifiers. There was just nobody else with the skills that wanted the job on a short term contract. Someone on here said that Dutch managers are so old school but the fact is the new school has gone dormant. I will admit though Peter Bosch at Ajax came in at the beginning of the season and introduced a whole new system of attacking football. unfortunately for him it cost him a lot of points in the beginning. The players now understand the system and are now playing excellent and are also exciting to watch. if the league was to start now Ajax would walk away with it. They may still win it if Feynoord don't give themselves a shake at the weekend. I am amazed a Dutch team could reach the final of a European tournament and I am still not sure they will as I can see Lyon winning 3-0. I am not an Ajax fan but I hope they do win it.

I may be wrong but I can see that if Green and gang fight the case and lose then they will open themselves up to prosecution for fraud. In dropping the case or negotiating a middle way they could fore come that. Just an opinion not based on knowledge.

Just shows you the mess the KNVB are in. A man who walked away leaving them in the lurch the last time for more money. Left Belgium in the Lurch for more money and leaves nearly every club he goes to in the lurch for more money. The guy is just a money wolf and has even sneaked out of his Hotel when he was at South Korea to join Zenit without even telling William van Hannigem his assistant he was leaving. Hans van Breuklen the technical director of the KNVB travelled to the Emirates and told Henk ten Cate that he had the job. A few days later Van Breuklen phoned ten Cate and said I know I told you you had the job but we also want to talk to Dick Advocaat first. Ten Cate told him in a nice way to stick the job up his rectrum. The KNVB is in a worse state than the SFA. The president of the KNVB called a press conference and intimated that the KNVB had taken measures and had dotted out a new route for the Dutch team. i watched Reading play Man City in a woman's match yesterday and two of the Man. City goals were from a long throw-in. The Lassie could throw it further than the middle of the goal. I have seen guy's do that but I never expected it from a woman. Well done to the ladies.

Most Dutch teams have an open day just before the start of the season. It is used to introduce new players and for the other players to mingle with the supporters. Sometimes they even include trials for kids. My nephew was spotted by Sparta Rotterdam at the Sparta open day. They took him out of the club he played for and put him into a feeder amateur club playing much higher football. Unfortunately he went off the rails with anger when his father died when he was about 13 and he then became a problem kid always in trouble and subsequently stopped playing football

Nothing to do with this game probably but while watching a football programme one of the Pundits said if a team knows they are playing against a technical team they don't cut the grass, I had heard of making the pitch smaller but not cutting the grass was new on me.

A manager or coach should be able to make players play to the best of their ability. This team has went backwards since Pedro came in.

Wallace won't go in my opinion. It is also my opinion that Wallace makes McKay a better player with his runs giving him the option of a pass or pulling defenders away from him. I think McKay is lost without Wallace.
