Fernando Ricksen only had one real good season with us when he was sober. He was also made captain that year. Black has also only had one decent season and the rest below par. That is my likeness and nothing to do with position.

After hooligans disguised as Feynoord supporters ran riot in Rome last week the Roma hooligans have stated they will take revenge this week in Rotterdam. Italian police have contacted the Dutch police to warn that the hardest factions of the Roma hooligans are already making plans to travel to Rotterdam. They plan to congregate in Amsterdam and travel by train to Rotterdam. The Dutch Police say they are ready to handle any situation that may occur.(I have heard that before). I am also pretty certain the Dutch hooligans will try and meet the Roma hooligans head on. Could be an interesting night on and off the park, with football losing out again. Lets hope it is all just cyber talk.

No racism at Raith - the truth about those Collymore chants Short entry this one, but it seems Angela Haggerty, Phil Macgiollabhain and their fellow brethren, ‘bhoyed’ (see what I did there) by Stan Collymore’s lies regarding Rangers’ fans' chants at Stark’s Park have continued their ill-conceived vendetta regarding bringing ‘justice’ to the Rangers support. In short, while delegate Tom Purdie did indeed report sectarian chants from the away support in Fife (sadly justified) they did not include any reference to Stan Collymore. The purpose of this entry is to try to spread the truth regarding what Collymore claims Rangers fans sang (which is rather gaining wings among the club’s enemies) and what they actually did. Hence I (and the Rangers support at large) would be grateful if all who are interested in the truth share this article to stem the tide of lies circulating about those chants, thanks to Mr Collymore’s Walter Mitty mentality. In short: Rangers fans did NOT, I repeat NOT elicit any racism at all at Rovers. The ‘offensive’ chant subject to this propaganda (these absolute lies), was: “Wife beating b*st*rd”. A perfectly valid comment to make about Collymore. I am not going include what he claims it was, as it simply was not the case and I do not want that lie spreading further. The further irony is even that chant was not included in Purdie’s report, never mind the ‘abridged’ lie version the Collymore crew are spouting. Please share this article, and let the truth get out – despite the fact the song was not reported, the simple fact is Collymore/Haggerty/PhilMac are using a lie to dampen the fans’ name. And that lie is spreading. Let this truth spread instead. If we can get Collymore off air, we can also clear our name.

'Utter c**p': Amy Macdonald hits back at Stan Collymore as Rangers sectarian singing row escalates 10:06, 23 February 2015 By Record Sport Online SCOTS singer and celebrity Gers fan Macdonald responded angrily after Collymore claimed he had been vindicated in his controversial linking of Rangers to right wing extremists. SCOTS pop star Amy Macdonald has blasted back at Stan Collymore after the TV pundit claimed he was vindicated in his controversial linking of Rangers to right wing extremists such as the National Front. The celebrity Rangers fan slammed Collymore’s comments as “utter c**p” after he tweeted in the wake of reports which claimed a Chelsea fan being hunted for pushing a black man off the Paris underground last week was a former Royal Ulster Constabulary officer and had been a Rangers fan. Responding to the reports, TV and radio pundit Collymore tweeted: "As I said a couple of weeks ago, Rangers and Chelsea, aka 'The Blues Brothers', made for each other. Quelle surprise.#NF #BNP #C18." He also said: "So the ex RUC officer who #CFC want info on and pushed the guy off the train is indeed a Rangers & Chelsea fan. Vindication complete. "Got to be honest, from a journalistic point of view right now, I'm smug as f..." But Macdonald hit back angrily yesterday. She tweeted: "What utter c**p. I support Rangers. I'm not racist or sectarian. I have no interest in Chelsea and I'm NOT an anomaly." The Twitter spat quickly escalated with Collymore telling the singer: "Find a tweet where i suggested all Rangers fans are racists or bigots. "I was asked specific Q about a specific link between 2 clubs supporters which yesterday i was proved right on." But Macdonald hit back: "I... condemn tarring vast swathes of people with the same brush. It's not the way to solve any of these issues. "Tarring everyone with the same brush, imo, is not going solve any of these problems.??" Collymore sparked a storm last week when he claimed Rangers should be taken off the telly if their fans continue to sing sectarian songs . He was subsequently dropped from BT Sport’s coverage of Friday night’s Raith Rovers v Rangers match. The former Liverpool star then stated: “Collymore also stated: "Disgusted by the lack of support from journalists, broadcasters and pros, current and ex. The threats, slurs, racism is there for all." Following Friday night’s match at Raith it emerged the SPFL will investigate Rangers for sectarian chanting during the clash in Kirkcaldy . Last night the Rangers Supporters Trust - who angrily hit out at Collymore last week - backed Macdonald. They tweeted: "Great to see @Amy__Macdonald stand up to @StanCollymore 's lies today. Rangers fans are a diverse group so to tar us all is ridiculous."

Streete looked quite good as well for the few minutes we saw him. Before any decisions were made for next year though I would want to see an injury report(history) on any of them we are interested in keeping.

I can only agree with you. While I do admit I put up the Afroman film I have to admit it was done without thinking into the deeper subject of wife beating. Gascoigne should certainly not be shown as any kind of hero off the field as he is in my opinion an idiot at least probably heading towards being mentally ill. Whatever he should not be praised as a hero off the football park. For what it is worth I think the Afroman video would have been just as popular on you tube if it was a man he hit but whether he would have dared do it to a man is another story.

The Herald-Football biggest contributor to Scotland's sectarianism
pete replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Personally I think calling it under sectarianism is a red herring. Almost every country has problems with rival football supporters. Unfortunately the sport seems to attract a sort of tribalism and as in life almost every tribe has a faction who are willing to go to the extreme. Yesterday in Herenveen, Herenveen and Groningen supporters clashed in the city centre with 3 people taken to hospital 2 with stab wounds and 1 with head injuries. On Twitter Roma supporters are declaring they are going to take revenge in Rotterdam on Thursday for the Feynoords supporters carnage last week. Does Football have a problem? Yes it most certainly does, Will stopping one team in Scotland singing 2 words in a song cure the social problems of world football? I don't think I need to answer that. The UEFA\FIFA and Governments need to get together and try and sort out the real problems and not tickle the belly of a few organisations who are playing the racial card. Ask them to put a total ban on the sale of Alcohol in the likes of Rome last week then all of a sudden the problems are not so big because then local shops will lose money. Just like everything money is the cancer in society and Sepp Blatter should know that better than anyone. -

Absolutely fantastic job. I also think that every player should have to go on the trail so as they can see and feel the history of the club they are playing for. Maybe if the present board had done the trail they may have realised that being a part of this club is just not wearing a blazer and tie. -

He is having a field day on twitter. He obviously has plenty of support from the manky mob. He also seems to think playing a flute is sectarian well I am sure James Galway would give him a discussion on that one.

Stan Collymore calls for Paul Gascoigne to be banned from BT Sport after commentary snub Former Liverpool striker takes to Twitter to express his anger towards BT Sport Samuel Stevens Stan Collymore has called for Paul Gascoigne to be banned from BT Sport just days after the former Liverpool striker was pulled from commentary for branding Rangers fans racist for singing sectarian songs. The 44-year-old pundit was due to commentate on the Scottish Championship club's clash with Raith Rovers but was dropped by the broadcaster after comments made on Twitter about members of the Ibrox faithful. Gascoigne, on the other hand, is set to appear on the channel's 'Fletch and Sav' chat show tomorrow morning alongside Russell Brand before Tottenham's meeting with West Ham at White Hart Lane. But Collymore, posting on the social media site, said: "If Gazza is well enough then he should be held to the same account as I’ve been and not be allowed on." During a three-year stint with Rangers, 'Gazza' scored 39 goals in 105 appearances but also stoked religious tensions with rivals Celtic by pretending to play a flute in front of their supporters. Making reference to that incident, among others, Collymore had initially posted: "Play the wee flute? Multiple arrests? Serial wife beater? Welcome to @btsportfootball on Sunday!" The former Aston Villa and Leicester City striker then revealed that he and 'eight friends' had cancelled their subscription to the digital sports channel after questioning the broadcaster's decision to book Gascoigne. He added: "And if Gazza isn't well still @ArsenalMiami then I'll be asking questions as to why a mainstream broadcaster why a sick man is on TV." Collymore previously revealed that BT Sport had removed him from their coverage of the Rangers fixture, but insisted that it is 'better to be right than bury my head'. A spokesman from the channel said last night: "We at BT Sport abhor all forms of racism. It should not be tolerated in sport. "Last night, we withdrew a one-off invitation to Stan Collymore to appear on BT Sport as a commentator. The invitation was withdrawn because we did not agree with the nature of the debate that Stan launched on Twitter. "We also disapproved of attempts to draw BT Sport into the ensuing controversy. "This doesn’t amount to a sacking, as he’s not an employee. We don’t think withdrawing one invitation to Stan amounts to censorship. Tweet about Gazza.
