The laws of averages say he has to get it right at some time.

To be honest i think Barry loved the club too much and tried to take too much responsibility on his own shoulders. That mixed with bad management and for years poor midfield options, tired him of the club, and the supporters of him. It was best for all that he left.

Kyle Lafferty opens his heart on debt claims - and Old Firm horror tackle
pete replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
You are right, but i really think you could have imagined i was speaking about Rangers and not the supporters. Supporters only have the right to pay money and watch unfortunately. -
I agree, Wilson would be stupid to go to Manchester now. I don't even think it is on the agenda to be honest. It would not be a good move for Rangers or Wilson.

Wawh that is a statement Craig i wish you were my boss. If i pay someone's wage then i have a right to expect that they do their work properly. We are not talking monkey nuts here. I know if i do not do my work properly then i will be given warnings and eventually sacked. Maybe it is in the football world as you say but that is surely the whole problem with football. Clubs are being asked to pay enormous fees for players with absolutely no guarantee that a player will do his best. Winston Bogarde playing for Chelsea is a perfect example of that, turning up for training in his bath slippers. There should be a body who decide if a club are getting an honest deal. A club should not have to pay millions for someone who is not even trying to do their best. -

Paying 16.000? pound per week and paying a fee of 3.75 million gives us a right to a bit of maturity. I don't even blame it on a lack of maturity i just can't see a professional football player in him at this time. -
Glad he is doing well at Birmingham but also glad he left us as he was just not doing it for us. i feel other players were in awe of him and were not playing their part as they felt he had to be involved in everything.

What a finish! A goal for PSmth in 30.30 minute of extra time. Coventry were better for most of the game but really stopped playing with 15 minutes to go of normal time. Hard on Cvntry tho.

I guess we lost the lottery then. -
As the Rabbit reported Hooiveld the new Koeman going to the tims. All the football experts here were asking me who the Ckuf is that. He has never hit any heights in Holland and is hardly known. No Dutch teams were interested in him and at 26 he has only played 151 games in prof football mostly in Finland. He is also known as a trouble maker. Give me Danny Wilson any day. Hooiveld and Loovens we welcome the challenge.

Someone had a groin injury not so long ago and they were out for about 9 months. It all depends on the injury. Lets hope it is just an irritation to the groin and be better in a few days. I would think he is very doubtful for the next game though no matter what he has got.

Not totally true he lifted his hands to his head when we played Aberdeen. -
Maybe the condition of the park made him leave Edu out as he was just returning. I can't see any other reason.

Yeh he was pathetic at jumping to head the ball today and indeed other days. I don't know why he thinks he is so good, maybe he needs a larger mirror me thinks. -
Come May you would be regretting it i think. Agree with the sentiment though another game is the last thing we wanted.

It is just the truth Zappa. Personally i don't think Lafferty can lace his own boots the way he plays it looks like he ties the two boots together. -
The dead leg from Davis is probably short term but and i hate to say it some groin injuries can be really long term. Let's hope Boyd's injury is just irritated through the hard or slippery pitch.

Personally i would rather have a young Charlie Nicholas in the team than Lafferty. I am afraid Lafferty couldn't lace Charlie's boots. -
I am not so sure. He Ckufed up on the Moore situation. Slagging him off in the press. relieving him of the captaincy and then dropping Khizanishvili who was playing well at the time to play Moore for a Euro game. That turned me against him. He should have kept his mouth shut if he was going to reinstate Moore directly to the team.

Sporting Lisbon agree ââ??¬1.5m deal for Pedro Mendes

Roberts was a defender where everyone was in front of him. McCulloch is in a mid-field position where he has runners from all angles. Comparing apples and pears imo. -
Better wait to the summer. Remember the German attack on Stalingrad.

Surely you are contradicting yourself here then and grass roots and coaching are more important than the population Holland are dropping down the rankings mainly because all the better players are being pulled away to foreign soil. As i said in an article i wrote, even at youth level players are being pulled away before they hit a Dutch first team Although the game has developed steadily in the country, the national men's team standard has been generally poor (compared globally in the FIFA World Rankings). The team has continuously struggled to qualify for the World Cup, with exception to the one time historic appearance in 2002 held in Japan and Korea, where the team lost all their games and failed to score a single goal. Reasons that have been given for the general low performance of the men's national team include, besides others:[1][2] * sub-par technical standards in training, selection and preparation * lack of leadership and vision from the Chinese Football Association * incompetent organization and government interference * corruption, especially in the refereeing of matches * low participation and neglect of grassroots and junior football (according to the 2006 FIFA Big Count, China had 708,754 amateur and youth players from a population of 1.3 billion(ratio of 1:1834) compared to 738,800 from 41 million(ratio of 1:55) in England) * over-reliance on foreign coaches (mainly eastern European, Serbian) signals lack of domestic coach development * unable to cope with the pressure from the Chinese football press and media While i agree that the Player population ratio is a factor, surely getting more involvement in football is down to the grass root football. Even if everyone in china plays football without good coaching at all levels they will never hit the heights of a Brasil or any other top country Yes i have heard of a purple patch that is why New Zealand(A small population) and Australia have been humping England at Rugby for years. A purple Patch! Nothing to do with better coaching. I guess Ireland's supremacy at the moment is also a purple patch and nothing to do with better coached players. How many of a population do England and Ireland have? Was South England not brought to a standstill due to snow today? Probably just a purple patch. Or white patch. Naming one town against the whole of Scotland is just stupidity and not really worthy of a reply. I have never lived in England but to be honest i have never noticed much of a divide when watching the weather on the TV. I have lived in Scotland and in Holland and to be honest Scotland has a warmer climate than Holland does in the winter. Unless you live in the Highlands possibly. Does Scotland not have the Gulf stream, letting palm trees grow on the West coast? Ice-skating is a huge part of Dutch life although the last ten years have had pretty warm winters,(across Europe) until recently. Ice played a big roll in the years before. Again the difference is minimal as they both have a sea climate . And bye the way i am a Brit and Scotland is not the same country as England they are both part of Great Britain. Yes Holland and Germany stop for three weeks, but that is nothing to do with summer football. They have less games as in Scotland and still finish at the same time in May. This is just a winter break and not really weather related as it can be a lot worse weather in February or even March than in January. I don't know where i mentioned non-Scots playing in the SPL In fact i don't understand your response at all.
