There are also reports that some were thrown burning from the top tier. One person broke their ankle jumping from the top tier which seems to back up that claim. Fire hoses were not working which had people trying to put the fire out with a garden hose and a bucket. Also the escape doors failed to open. The stadium is two years old. This could have been a real disaster. The game will go ahead on Wednesday with both sets of supporters present although the Dutch FA has said Groningen may be punished at a later date. Crazy but the game is important for the title race.

Certainly don't want Lovenkrands back. Going back is not the way forward although Gattuso is another kettle of Fish. Even with him i have my doubts though as i think Thomson is a better football player than him. Gattuso, Thomson and Davis filling the central midfield would certainly be tasty and probably leave Fergie as a second choice.

Scott Brown was a cert to join us according to the papers. They have to get something to fill their pages. The way they have been playing there is bound to be some interest but as long as we hold their contracts we can dictate when they will leave. That will mean we don't have to sell them on the cheap.

All the football pundits seem to be giving us no chance against a mighty Italian team but i would like to put another light on our Euro tie. We have beaten Giants as Lyon, Werder Bremen, Stuttgart and Sporting Lisbon. Add to that a draw against Barcelona then we have had a decent run in Europe this year. Our so called mighty opponents had a penalty shoot out win against FC Groningen a sub-top Dutch team in the preliminary round of the Uefa cup. Then went on to beat the mighty Elfsborg and Mlad�¡ Boleslav while drawing against AEK and Villareal in the group stages. They then went on to beat Rosenborg a team that has done well in the past but recently have not done much in Europe. This is where they seem to have gained more credit by beating Everton, again on penalties and PSV. To put this in to context Everton are a team punching above their weight in the EPL and PSV while on course to win the Dutch league have in fact been open to defeat from all sectors in the Dutch compitition. So much so that our ex-assistant manager Jan Wouters handed over the reigns to Sef Vergoossen who steadied the ship with negative football but his team has since dropped so many points that they must now win their last game to win the league. I don't want to put us into a favourite role but i really feel that we have beaten better opponents as Fiorintina and our chances are better than the media are giving us credit for.

The club didn't supply the toilet rolls but gave permission for them to be placed before the game. It was the Fanatics as they call them that arranged it.

There were toilet roles put on all seats as we do with the card display. The club and fire brigade had granted permission. A note warning of the fire hazard was also put on the roles.

I can't stand Chelsea so i hope Manu win it.

I can only go on what i saw at the end of the highlights that showed his best points and the radio's report that he won everything in the air. He seemed to play well. My further thoughts remain the same as my last post.

FC Groningen supporters planned a toilet roll display against Ajax today. Unfortunately some idiot decided to set it on fire. Some supporters received serious burns and a part of the sitting was totally burned out. Ajax has become a hate club for Groningen supporters after they have plucked some of their best players over the last few years with the sale of Suarez and de Silva getting emotions running high. Part of the display was also T-shirts with Fuck Ajax! And 110% against Amsterdam written on it. Shit forgot about the highlights. To be honest Boyd is born in the wrong Era. If he had played in the 70's 80's then he would have been first pick. A modern striker needs to do more than just score goals. That sounds crazy but if a striker can't hold on to a ball then with modern athletic football your defence is put under pressure as your midfield are caught in no man's land. Personally i don't think you can rebuild a players technical ability you may be able to improve it to a certain extent but i don't see any more in Boyd than a super-sub. He can play in games you dominate but in games where you are on the back foot he is just not good enough. Novo against Werder out is the perfect example. Because he could not hold the ball up we were put under pressure for ninety minutes.

For me it would depend on the circumstances. i would hate to give the Tims the helicopter Sunday feeling and let them win the league. If another team could win the league then it would be the UEFA. The fact that Celtic are going for three in a row also makes the SPL more important for me. Normally i would say the UEFA but as things stand now i want to stop the Tims in their tracks.

I'll leave it open to you mate. I think the difficult thing is going to be getting video's from all the goals. Hopefully BUBA can come up with some.

I am the other way about.I consider myself a good amateur football player but keepy-up was not my forty. Reading a game and passing inch perfect were my talents. I think possibly 50-60 on a good day. I could stand for a long time heading the ball against the wall and gave up from boredom rather than losing control.
