BD had better chances than we enjoyed against the fhilth. They failed to convert, but were, perhaps, unlucky, on occasion, hitting the post, and finding Courtois in decent nick. We barely troubled the opposition goalkeeper, and if you don't do that, you are unlikely to trouble the scorers. One surely has to admire Don Carlo, perhaps the world's only unflappable Italian. (And what a record, as player and as coach.)

[Official] Rangers announce departure of CEO James Bisgrove
Uilleam replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
Actually it is. And, actually, I find it almost, well, depressing that we have to hear about, consider, and debate, boardroom appointments, at all. What I will say is that if one wished to start and run a "professional sports business", then one might well consider recruiting people who know how to do such things, and have experience which demonstrates such knowledge. It doesn't seem to me that expertise in one field, must of necessity transfer to another. The problem at Ibrox might be that we have, and have had, a set of successful business people, who are, perhaps, struggling a little, because football is an industry in which they have little experience, and which does not easily bend into comfortable shape. Consider the erstwhile SNP panjandrum, and big name big businessman, McColl, who took over Fergusson's shipyard in Port Glasgow, and how quickly that whole shebang turned belly up. -

Yes, that seems to be so. I should like success on the pitch to overshadow everything else, including, perhaps particularly, who does what in the Boardroom. An unlikely scenario, I suspect. Not because success on the field is impossible -it isn't - but because off field issues, since, and including, SDM, have been, well, difficult, and newsworthy. -

....Struth; Symon; Waddell; Wallace; Greig; Sounness; Smith; Advocaat..... ...And for the life of me the names of the men who were MDs, or CEOs,when these men managed the Club quite escape me. -

Now, granted, Old Sam didn't know much about the fitba', but he did know about the cricket. In fact he is mentioned in Wisden, the only Nobel prize-winner to feature in its pages as a first-class player. And sport's sport, right? -
I thought that it was a penalty. I don't think that the VAR Bhoys saw fit to review it. Scottish refereeing is a disgrace, with some officials quite clearly afraid to upset the fhilth; others make decisions based on what they were brought up to believe, that their team, since it's inception was regularly disadvantaged by officials. This is the ' always cheated, never defeated' mantra, the primary purpose of which was to maintain attendances at their matches, there being nothing like a community under siege mentality to rally the support. Now we see officials doing to other teams, primarily Rangers, what they think - what they have heard- was done to their team. Redress, they think. They think, too, that any non-Catholic official will, automatically, be biased against rasellik, which is nonsense, and offensive. Some are more blatant than others but even when it's benefit of the doubt, or very marginal calls, the default position is to favour one team. And now, we have Mr William Collum in charge of the whole shooting match. The question is why, when Scottish officials are of such low quality, that none ( no not one) of them will be officiating at the Euros, you would choose to appoint a current domestic referee to the most senior, and important, position, rather than bringing in someone from elsewhere, someone who might have the ideas and experience to improve matters?

Dessers' injury can't be that bad, as he played for c. 20 mins after the incident. Surely?
-
For the bhoys. And that is set to continue for the foreseeable.

He couldn't get his bat on the fucking ball!

As I said earlier, elsewhere ......And Willie Collum will be in charge of Scottish referees and refereeing for the next 20 years or so. Let that sink in. Let the fact that (as I understand it) there will be no Scottish officials at the European Championships this Summer sink in, too. Ponder why one of Scotland's second -or third, or tenth (you choose)- rate officials is deemed worthy of preferment, of promotion to run refereeing: recruitment, training, development, and appointment to the top grades of officialdom. It, em, might make you think.

....and facing Whispering Death, himself. Beyond folly, i m h o.
