  1. One thing I was taught in a motivation class it that money doesn't really motive people much; however, feeling you're paid less than your worth is massively demotivating. I think wages are far too high and akin to a pyramid scam; more money in football from the fans just means the same top players get even richer. But it's difficult to attract players when they can get a better basic wage somewhere else in England or abroad. For prp to work, it needs the whole of football to adopt it - and I wish they'd bring in rules to that effect.
  2. I think we should experiment with safe standing to see if it works.
  3. I think it would be interesting for SA to take a random sample of Gersnetters and assess their fitness and then see if there is a correlation to what they think training is all about... It's easy to say that players should be puking their guts up after every session, but who has tried it? But then we have someone on here who thinks McCulloch is two stone over weight when he is unlikely to even have two stone of fat in total... For me I doubt there is a huge lack of fitness; instead I'm of the thinking that many people underestimate the fitness of part-time, professional sportsmen. The "my Sunday league team are fitter" comments are a joke - why would you pay to play Sunday league when you have the obvious ability to play for a real club, for money?
  4. I thought they DID get a vote as they still had a share... Or did Ross County get their vote?
  5. Pardon the unintentional pun!!!
  6. I get what you're saying but it's a bit like getting a drill for you birthday, very useful but a bit boring...
  7. I wasn't thinking EPL, more bottom of the Championship like Blackburn or Middlesburgh or say something like Palermo, Bari or Vicenza or a 2. Bundesliga team like Cologne, Bochum or Kaiserslautern. There are plenty of big clubs fallen on hard times that might relish a game with us.
  8. Pretty easy travelling for the players and Glasgow or centrally located supporters. Can foresee a huge attendance at Somerset Park from the Ayrshire supporters seeing as it holds over 10k, it will be bouncing there. Hope bugger all go to Dunfermline but unfortunately can't see it. Our fans aren't very good at making a cohesive point.
  9. I don't want us thrashed by big clubs but there is a severe lack of glamour in that tour. Disappointing.
  10. I think one thing that is being buried is the complete failure of the in-house complaints procedure, who were wrong, wrong and wrong again. THAT should be investigated too.
  11. I think I'd rather fall away at the later stages than be knocked out in the early stages... World Cup and European Championship finals in the summer don't really seem relevant these days.
  12. Can they afford administration? It cost us about £2m - money they don't have. If we're worth 5.5m, what are they worth? I don't see how they can cover the cost. Administration now seems a complete scam by accountants to me. They took a £50m club like Rangers and were able to pass on about £2m to creditors when the old board could have raised more than that by selling one player - MacGregor, Naismith etc. Complete joke of a process.
  13. Looking at it objectively, I think it could be a good thing for Scottish football if Hearts disappear. I've said many times it would have made a more competitive league if Hearts had "merged" with Hibs under Wallace Mercer. Edinburgh can support one big club or two small ones. In twenty years, Hibs could be a reasonable third force in Scottish football. However, their minority religion oriented background could put paid to that. Religion just alienates all non-followers of that religion. Perhaps Hibs need to disappear too and a new, all encompassing Edinburgh club rise from the ashes.
  14. PS One of the most irritating things about it must be the stupid "sent from" signature... But then all signatures should be banned. There's a line under your username for that which doesn't interfere with the flow of the thread.
  15. I bought it but didn't get on with it at all.
  16. There must be a level that we can run at that sees us break even. Our squad should be sustainable as proportion to our income. Our running costs should actually have economies of scale meaning we should have an even better squad in proportion to our income. We may not be able to compete with Celtic in the lower leagues when they steal our tv money, have bigger sponsorship, higher ticket prices and have European income, but we should still be able to support the second best squad in the country without making a loss. I just don't get it.
  17. So he's smarter than the average bear... boom boom
  18. PS I hope they spend another £500k and find we're innocent.
  19. What is it really that they are investigating? What exactly is the problem? It seems incredibly arbitrary to me and at worst we could be found guilty of "having directors of Rangers who had previous (and seemingly essential) dealings with the previous owner of the club with the actual crime being that he is a guy the SFA don't like."
  20. surely they just need to sell about 500 season tickets?
  21. Funny how it always seems the naysayers have good rational points to make that we can understand, but the yes men only have empty rhetoric...

It depends on how much you think players owe the fans. The USA is a long way to go by yourself and most people would want to take someone with them for company. The fact he want's to fly business class makes doing that expensive and so he then sees himself well out of pocket for doing what he will probably see as a voluntary bit of his work. Seems to me that the answer is that he should trade in his business class ticket for two coach ones and then use his fame to get a free upgrade... How would it be if it was his wife instead of his brother? It's a difficult one, as we all chance our arms sometimes and turn down voluntary commitments that seem to be too much hassle or leave us out of pocket. I think the real sticking point is that he expects business class travel as that's what he's used to.
  23. it's a joke that this is about the up and coming season - no-one knows what they played for last season and they still don't know what the format will be next season. If this was about a change to happen in two years time it would be more understandable.
  24. Funny how they still do this "up to 124m" bollocks but never do the same with the transfer ban, "which the court found to be illegal". Weird story though.
