  1. Putting McCoist to one side, you think a board should sack a manager for winning the league without losing a game because he lost a cup final? I know we're in a strange position but that's extreme.
  2. When it suits the argument, many Scottish managers are said by some to have their players playing like pub teams, then the same people want one of these same managers in charge at Rangers... The Ally bashing is getting more schizo by the season.
  3. Makes you wonder why we signed Simonsen unless he's on absolute peanuts as an occasional stand-in.
  4. I might be wrong but I thought you were one of those that said it was unacceptable for the manager not to win the cup? But I don't think you can blame a manager for wanting to win a trophy. At the moment, the two main cups are as difficult for us than it has been for teams outside the OF ie not something that is achievable on a regular basis. But right now the manager has won the last two championship's at a canter, so why wouldn't he want to win a cup where he pilloried for not winning? So which is it - he should be embarrassed for not winning it or he shouldn't be keen to win it? The ease of us winning the challenge cup are about the same as us winning the Scottish Cup when we had the most expensive team in the UK and Celtic were in financial difficulty - but we didn't always do it then. But there is always the point that you have paying fans who turn up and deserve a decent attempt at winning.
  5. I would say this is a very good example of what not to do. How does putting an under 20 team out to lose 4-0 and out of the tournament give them valuable experience? It's not like they can even put what they have learned about getting thrashed into the next game... But where it stops to make much sense at all is if you imagine Livingstone did the same and put out an under 20 team, what experience would any of the players get that they wouldn't have in a game with the exact same players from both sides in an U20 game? What is the difference apart from playing at the proper stadium with perhaps a small crowd? I don't think anyone would have complimented McCoist for losing 4-0 to Livingstone with such a team (or any team), and I can't see how it would have the youngsters falling over themselves to sign contracts. You'd also have to ask those paying their hard earned cash whether they would prefer to see their club field strong team and win 8-1 or a youth team and lose 4-0. McCoist just gets in the neck no matter what, even when he wins well, he should really be getting thrashed instead. You have to wonder whether those agreeing with you actually agree with what you are saying or agreeing that it's always good to find a way to give Ally a bashing.
  6. Maybe it's just me, but after reading that, I've absolutely no idea what it's all about... I think it requires a hell of a lot of background knowledge to understand most of the article.
  7. Evolution at the current rate looks like it will bring a slow extinction, a bit like the population dwindling while infertility spreads. I think we need a small revolution to have bright future, or even just survival. Like him or not, King is looking more and more like a last resort for this. We just need the coup to be as bloodless as possible.
  8. I'm always sceptical about management stuff as a lot of it seems wishy-washy business speak. When it comes to a "road map" for the future, it sounds an ideal thing which is clear and concise measures of what the plan for the future is, but then thinking about how it will be delivered, it conjures up the reality of stuff like the 120 day review. Even that review to me, seems like it was a project for a business student to hand in a report, which Wallace duly did (like a typical student, a bit late), and like a student's report, that was that. There is no visible implementation. And the very sad thing is that it seems to me that the report was a C- at a very optimistic and totally lenient best. Scarily, this mediocre student is getting paid up to 600k for his troubles or lack there of. Maybe he's spending it on beer and dope...
  9. Depends if he's making it up or not - I doubt he is. Seems to me he's saying that while other players will attempt to wind him up and kick/elbow him etc, it is his own responsibility not to react badly and lose the rag. Seems fair enough to me. It seems you're saying that it all didn't and won't happen and he just loses it over absolutely nothing or that he's not allowed to say what caused him to lose it. I think people overuse the word "excuse" - he's not excusing himself in any way but he is giving the reasons he committed the crime.
  10. I can't see admin2 happening before sale and leaseback, it's the board's last joker to play. That's the point King will have to urgently make a move.
  11. You can't read you're own quoted text? "I now watch the odd game on Alba and some on dodgy streams ." The point you highlighted is that the streams are so frustrating I don't watch them all. I probably watch over 1/3 of games plus highlights and reading match reports. And I don't pretend otherwise or argue about stuff I haven't seen. I used to watch all the games that were live on Setanta but that no longer exists. Your special "buddy" said something like he will not watch Rangers this season, maybe you can find his quote. But the point is for him not to be a liar I would have to watch no games. Actually the point is that he should be using what he has seen with some savvy to make a decent case rather than this kind of pathetic deflection from the flaws in his point of view.
  12. That's the thing, I don't say we're playing well, I have, however, said it's not as bad as people are making out and that we're not winning game after game while being constantly outplayed by the opposition. You get people saying we always play the long ball and can't string 3 passes together, and while the passing isn't great and there are more long balls as I'd like, I see it mostly played along the ground with 8 or 9 consecutive passes happening quite often. I see us often dominate teams but lack imagination in the last third, still win 2-0 and then see people posting that we were outplayed by postmen. Then thing is that some views are now so extreme that if you disagree with a more moderate view, you're treated like you are from the opposite extreme.
  13. You really are a constant liar. I NEVER said that and have explained this several times since. This is so weird that I think I've realised that YOU don't watch games and this is some kind of decoy for you. I think I outed you when after a game, you said something like, "same old rubbish", I watched the game on telly and said that it was the first I had seen for a while and so if that was normal it wasn't that bad. Others then came on and said it was a vast improvement and a bit of an exception. You then got jittery and started going on about me not watching games probably to deflect from yourself. Now you do it every time I catch you out on something. You must find most Rangers fans in history offensive as all of them had an opinion but in the past they didn't see most of the games - they weren't on telly often. But again I think that's just a mad deflection from your inability to defend a point without insult. You really are bringing down this forum which used to be far more enjoyable.
  14. How can ANYONE back you up to whether I watch games? Is it your special "buddies"? Just debate your points properly instead of turning the forum into a childish slagging match.
  15. I live 440 miles from Ibrox so I try to attend one game a year. Last season it was the Newcastle friendly. However, I don't see how that's relevant, as like the majority of Rangers supporters I "watch" more games on TV or Internet than I attend. Your post in this context seems to be implying that if you don't attend every, single game, then you can't have an opinion. Did you attend every game? The accuser in question has stated he will not attend games this season. What's his position then?
  16. This has got to be the weirdest post I've ever read on here. Totally delusional with every, single point. I think you need to learn about what's real and what's just in your head. Are you really so incapable of dealing with it when someone disagrees with you? Do you have no self awareness at all? You continually disparage ANY arguments against your simplistic "Ally is clueless and to blame for everything" opinion as excuses, but can't recognise when you make a blatant excuse even when it's strangely in favour of Celtic for their loss against Rangers on a Rangers forum? I would really like to put you back on ignore but that's a bit difficult when you continue to lie about me on an open forum.
  17. Weird that this offence carries such a punishment whereas bribing your way to the final is considered ok...
  18. I've never understood why people use this 'away goals count double' conception as it doesn't work. If you draw 0-0 at home and lose 3-2 away, that would mean you win 4-3 on aggregate etc...
  19. I'm surprised you're making a desperate defence when I thought you would actually agree. But perhaps a European defeat is only really bad depending on whether you like the manager...
  20. I didn't think they were Scottish...
  21. Surely the Motherwell result is as bad, if not worse than our Malmo one? Which puts McCall in the same bracket as McCoist, or McCoist in the same bracket as McCall? That's another one to tick off the list of possible replacements. You've got to admit that postmen seem to make pretty good footballers, though not quite as good as they used to be at cycling in the US.
  22. Or they would have them win the league by double figures... More probably somewhere in between.
  23. Was at the Fulham game. Best goal I've ever seen live - a bicycle kick by Prso. Really enjoyed that game as well.
