  1. I wouldn't ever slag off any of our employees. I will make critical remarks about their commitment to the club, as I have regarding Boyd and Bougherra, but I stop short of calling them bawbags as some around here do.
  2. Believe what you want to believe
  3. Because the unknown is so much more attractive than the poverty we're currently in. As it stands Rangers are rotting - able to dominate in the SPL but unable to grow in any way - we can't sign anyone, we can't secure our current assets, and as a 'business model' we're in dire straits. We have no money and no future in our current state. So cue a takeover - and consequent hope - we can only hope this guy Ellis has our best intentions at heart, that he will wipe our debt and sign up our out of contract stars, including manager, and give funds for new players. It gives us SOMETHING, a glimmer of a future instead of the rut we've been suffering for 2 years now. It might not be certainty, but is there any takeover that would make us all certain and totally happy with affairs?
  4. From Football 365.
  5. Only small details leaking out, all of which I've heard that I've posted. Nothing super juicy regarding players and budget yet.
  6. Apparently, and this one's odd, Murray will be offered the role of presidency.
  7. GOT YE I left that line in for you and you alone. Glad you enjoyed it. And yes, feel flattered
  8. But yours doesn't matter as you hate Lafferty
  9. Radio reporting that Ellis will offer Walter a 3 year deal.
  10. It's on SSN - Ellis hopes to complete the deal within the month. £33M takeover. I really hope this happens.
  11. We'd been on a great run yeah, but a bunch of the players responsible for it being such a good run were either suspended or injured for the OF game; our resources were somewhat depleted and under those circumstances, given what was at stake, being a bit defensive was understandable. This time there's nothing at stake so we should be able to afford a more attacking lineup. I'd laugh if Boyd scored though - still wouldn't have scored a meaningful goal against Celtic.
  12. I'd never before heard he was a Celtic fan...
  13. I love how totally uncommitted he is in that article to us. At no point does he say he actually wants to stay. The reason, Danny, that you're being pressured to sign that contract, is because you've been offered it. Did you expect to be given a contract and left to your own devices? Truth is I've proposed reasons why he may be delaying signing it, but this article does little to clarify matters.
  14. I quit debating with Wabash a long time ago. It's a waste of your time.
  15. Good grief, there comes a point where watermarking to protect content gets just a little bit silly.
  16. Correct. I dislike Bougherra as a person, and I have no time for him - he's disrespected the club and its supporters far more than Kyle ever did. But I will always support every player in the light blue no matter what kind of a person I think they are. To go around calling our players names and clearly not supporting them in any way is disquieting to witness as a Rangers fan. (I guess saying the odd stupidly egotistical thing in the paper is far worse than going awol for a match or 3 and saying you want to leave)
  17. There are many reasons he may wish to leave tbh. The 'improved' deal might be better than a youth player gets but not in line with what a first team regular gets - and he is now clearly a first team player. He might also be concerned that no matter how he plays, he will always be ditched for a senior player. Just because he hasn't signed a new deal does not mean he doesn't want to stay. It just means the deal hasn't yet been agreed on and we don't know the full story.
  18. Do you deny that city has a significant Irish/catholic population?
  19. No mention of Lafferty V Aberdeen?
  20. Gall's dead, far as I know. As for the rest of your post, I never said it was an outstanding bastion of journalistic integrity, for my money no paper is. I was just suggesting it was one of the better tabloids. I mean, christ, compare it to the bottom feeding Lidl supporting Daily Record or the trash that is the Sun or the Mirror and I have to say the Times is a mite better.
  21. Greatest European night of my life... I have 2 instances: Walter Smith 'nearly' getting us to the CL final in '93 - the final match V CSKA ended in disappointment but the expectation and hope was absolutely amazing. The other was Eck getting us to the last 16 in the CL - first Scottish club to do it - that was just sensational. I must also make a mention of Lovenkrands' goal in Villarreal - for about 45 glorious minutes we were in the quarter finals till Arruabarena spoiled the party.
  22. That's probably the worst attendance in their history. I know they've lost the league, and it was a delayed friendly, but there's no excuse for such a pathetic crowd.
  23. This thread and King's article show that the one paper I could tolerate, the Evening Times, is going down the crapper. One of the few tabloids with a hint of broadsheet about it, it actually contains (or is that contained) some quality reporting in both news and sport. The sport section appears to be getting more red top by the day.
  24. There was a guy on RM who's like that (whose name will remain anonymous), and quite a few are like him. They complain about negative football, and 'watching this shite' but want success - and yet claim that, as you say, for the 'greater good' they'd accept mediocrity while we build. Utter, utter lies. We want to win everything, and the naive among us want us to play like Barcelona while we do it. These are the same guys who wanted PLG gone (like most of us) when we ended up struggling to even finish second. It's all very hypocritical and even two faced.
  25. I think quite the contrary. Which makes this so disappointing.
