Seems drawing 1-1 at home to Killie isn't so dramatic for some as it is for others. Think the rabble will be giving the big licks they were when we did exactly the same thing just days ago?

[FT] Hearts 1 - 3 Rangers (Miller 43, 65; Windass 73)
JFK-1 replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
Another good away win. Wonder if we could somehow pull a heartz and play all our games away from Ibrox. -
We are in some matches the problem is not in all. As for McInnes if he wasn't good enough when Warburton left what's changed? As others have mentioned the sheep are truly awful to watch and Rangers is a whole different ball game from sheep herding. He was beaten 3-0 by Mothwerwell in the league cup and by all accounts totally outplayed but there were no screams of anguish from any quarters. But when we lose to them in the cup while overall outplaying them as they kicked us off the park it's armageddon.

Kenny Miller is apparently bookies favourite.

Makes you wonder how long Motherwell can get away with this. They had 5 booked in their win over the sheep and 4 against us. Doesn't 9 bookings in just two matches all on it's own warrant some sort of attention? And as we all know even more cards than that should have been flying around against us on Sunday.
-
What I see is someone i'm puzzled as to who you have been watching. The current Rangers first team are largely a newly built team who have lost just two league games and one of those was robbery by referee while the other though I hate to say it was to comfortably the best team in the country. A side in formation who have rattled in 20 league goals in 9 games which only the aforementioned best team in the country can better and that by only 1 goal. And though I don't believe any of us actually like it when we lose it occurs to me that we rarely if ever see you around here when they're winning but you jump right back in after a single loss. See you for the next one once this Motherwell rant has run out of steam.
-
Frankly what a load of utter pish which has become a habit for them and i'm coming to the conclusion that they want our club to be in constant turmoil to give them something to ramble about. Let's consider an alternative outcome for Sunday which was a distinct possibility but just didn't happen on the day. From the outset the referee does his job by stopping the Motherwell hatchet attack in it's tracks. We get to play our game, take our chances and run out comfortable 3-0 winners. Would we be seeing such drivel if that had been the outcome? If not they're throwing this utter pish around on the basis of a single game where again a referee gave our players absolutely no protection and all for the sake of a paper cup with no reward for winning it? I would rather have another 3 points in the bag than win that meaningless cup. If it were the Scottish cup which can bring a Europa league spot I would feel differently but it's not and i'm judging our progress on league results not this paper cup. In the league we have lost just two games and in one of those not many would disagree we were robbed by yet another lamentable refereeing display. With that in mind and not even out of the first quarter of the league yet it's absolutely ludicrous to suggest firing our manager is a sane path to go down. After just 9 league games and despite everything the team is still currently sitting in a Europa league spot with over three quarters of the season still to come. We need to see this season out because it's irrational to imagine that we can bring anybody else in to make Pedro's team any better than they already are. Only Pedro can do that.

Agree but thinking he isn't worth Pena. -

Carlos Pena 10 appearances 4 goals Kenny McLean 15 appearances 2 goals. -
I too think they should be looking at an expanded top league with a minimum 18 teams. The move to reduce the top league with the creation of the SPL was with hindsight a very bad decision in my opinion and our game has been on a gradual slide ever since. One of the complaints of the previous setup was that into the second half of the season and later there were too many 'meaningless' games with a bunch of clubs sitting safely in a mid table position with no chance of being in the top clutch and shielded from relegation worries by their position with another bunch below them. As far as i'm concerned there are no meaningless games for the followers of a team and with the current setup come late season you have the entire bottom half all terrified of relegation and due to this terrified to give young guys a chance to show what they can do and it goes without saying that can't be good. I would rather see a clutch of teams sitting in a comfortable mid table position and not afraid to throw some boys into the fray with no fears of relegation keeping them out. Nothing much would change as far as the balance of power goes since the top teams will more or less always be the top teams and the relegation strugglers will more often than not always be relatively predictable from day one. But such a setup would be more likely to encourage development of young players which can from time to time change the fortunes of those lucky enough to develop the gems which can only be beneficial for the Scottish game as a whole and would be as far as i'm concerned no less entertaining at worst.

Kenny McLean to leave Dons, says Derek McInnes

I want us to get him and them to get nothing in return just like with Ryan Jack. -
Apparently Pedro was sent to the stands for questioning the assault on Cardoso.
-
I'm watching the hubz match refereed by Andrew Dallas. Less than half an hour gone and cards flying around for as little as body checks. And regarding the body check the BBC live text report said this about it. A bad foul? What would that make the assault on Cardoso?
-
So what does this get?
-
It's a cup that effectively wins you nothing but a day out at Hamden. Points win prizes in the form of a chance at Euro competition and our current points tally doesn't comfortably give us a chance at Euro football. In saying that we're not even out of the first quarter yet but we need points more than we need the league cup.
-
The referee did us no favours but we still had enough chances to win this and didn't take them. At the end of the day given a choice I would rather lose this than drop points in a league match.
-
It's been exceptionally scrappy and we were giving the ball away too easily early on but all in all Motherwell haven't really been threatening us greatly aside from one good fingertip Alnwick save. We have had several very good chances and haven't converted. The referee waited too long to give Hartley a card despite the fact he made his intentions clear days ago.
-
I predicted Motherwell would come out kicking and so it has come to pass. Morelos came close to taking studs in the thigh or midriff.

Was this not the mob moaning about allocation "fairness" ?
JFK-1 replied to boabie's topic in Rangers Chat
That's the problem with giving inflated allocations to minor teams. Everybody loses. -
Yes i'm sure the manager has studied it and knows where the problems lie. Stop them scoring and we will win because i'm confident we will score and more than once.
-
All four of Motherwell's goals v Rangers since the start of last season have stemmed from crossed balls. Rangers scored five goals in the last 10 minutes of games against Motherwell last season. Daniel Candeias and Richard Tait have the highest number of crosses per game in the league (6.99 and 5.73). Motherwell have beaten Rangers just three times since the turn of the millennium, including a 6-1 aggregate victory in the 2014/2015 Championship play-off.
-
I fell it can be a comfortable win with plenty space at Hamden to outplay them but it may be difficult to be sporting after any result either way because I get the feeling they're going to come out kicking. Will anybody here feel like being sporting if we were beaten in a fashion reminiscent of the hubz match with no refereee protection?
-
Bruno actually comes across relatively well when you consider he's struggling with a second language.
-
I feel it will be physical because that's all Motherwell have in my view. If they try to play football we will play them off the park on the wide open spaces of Hampden. I had a look at some of the highlights from their win against the sheep and what I saw was a lot of hoof ball from both parties with Motherwell capitalising on high balls into the box.
