The Pre-Summer-2017 transfer rumours and hearsay all inclusive Thread
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Their own support are totally deluded. Saw one of them say this. What? Are they blind? They really think that's a long term position? They aren't noticing they're in the process of losing the core of their first 11 while Rangers build a team that will blow them out of the water? Their league cup win while we were out of the SPL was their first trophy in 19 years so it's decades since they were last winning trophies. I can see them struggling to get into a Euro spot this season. -

There might be delicate negotiations going on to get some off the payroll which neither side would want to jeopardise by leaking it. -

Might turn out that Pedro was the best bit of business we did since i'm somewhat doubting Alves as an example would be here if not for Pedro. And if all of these names fall into place and click dare I say we could be looking at a real title race which is something I wouldn't have said just a few weeks ago. Maybe just last week I wouldn't have said it. We appear to be shaping a team that should leave the sheep and heartz of this league trailing in our wake. If we consistently beat the rest all we then need to do is take points from them too and it's on. We already did that in their own hovel with a misfiring team and a more than suspect defence. -
It's building from the back and i'm guessing he was first pick for that position. Unlike this time last year when we ended up with something like a 5th pick after the first choices didn't work out.
-
On the other hand if he could take them back up at the first attempt he would be a rising star. It's the way to go for him at this point. The sheep are a dead end for him.

Hopefully Pena. -
It wouldn't surprise me if he left. He has hit the ceiling with them and he knows their support don't grasp that. It's all downhill for them from here battling it out for 3rd/4th and no one could change that. Second place finishes will soon be as much a thing of the past as titles are for them.

Hopefully the answer to my shattered nerves every time a high ball comes in. Apparently he's a remarkable header of the ball and to top it off a known broonaldo slayer.

I know some will want to say seen all that before Garner scored a bagful on youtube and I agree nothing is ever certain but you can't watch this and not see this guy has real quality which along with other new signings could propel us far ahead of the rest at a bare minimum. The video is a bit less than halfway down the page. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/carlos-pena-set-rangers-talks-10526646

Hope they get gubbed and take an early plane home. Final match will be 24th June and out if they don't make the top two in their group. They're in group A. Russia New Zealand Portugal Mexico -

Suits me fine, just what we need. We're getting some steel and quality into the defence and the midfield too. Game on. -
I would expect this to be his final contract before retiring. Two years from now he will be in his 70th year. Time to call it a day.

I'm hoping for an opening day home game like last time. But not the same result as last time. Goes without saying the type of result I would prefer. I'm hoping we have played 6 Euro games by that time and made it into the Europa league play-off round but I foresee a problem for the opening SPL weekend prior to that play-off round. SPL opening weekend is Saturday August 5th while the second leg of the Europa league third qualifying Round is Thursday August 3rd. Presuming our opening match would be put off till at least the Sunday but it's still not ideal. But then that's what we will be facing until at least Xmas if we make the Europa group stage. First qualifying round First leg: 29 June 2017 Second leg: 6 July 2017 Second qualifying round First leg: 13 July 2017 Second leg: 20 July 2017 Third qualifying round First leg: 27 July 2017 Second leg: 3 August 2017 Play-off round First leg: 17 August 2017 Second leg: 24 August 2017 Group stage matchday one: 14 September 2017

I don't get why he was booked for that. In the replay you can clearly see it was a perfectly timed tackle that took the ball then Costa fell over his legs. -

I can see him racking up a body count the mafia would envy. Hoping he's smart enough to avoid that many cards as he leaves the bodies in his wake. Just the knowledge that he could be bearing down on you is enough to make a player release a ball when he should be holding it up. -

Second best in the European championship winning squad is still a massive improvement on top 10 in league 1. I think the board are pushing out the boat in an attempt to secure a Europa league group spot. -

It's what we wanted and it looks as if it's all beginning to fall into place. Going to be meltdowns on the DR 'hotline' demanding UEFA probes because 'they're skint' Aside from the massive strengthening it looks as if the sheep will be scurrying around the bargain basement looking to replace the nucleus of a team they're heading to lose. And oh the screams of the exuberant ones if a deal for Cummings came through. Best transfer window in many a year. -

There is a video at that link showing him taking out Diego Costa for which he was then booked. Can anyone explain to me why he was booked? It looked like a perfectly timed slide tackle in which he took the ball then Costa fell jumping over him. -
Hehe. Hope broonaldo still has the stud marks.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has agreed a new two-year contract, extending his 21-year reign at the club. Wenger and club owner Stan Kroenke met on Monday to determine the Frenchman's future, with the decision relayed to directors at a Tuesday board meeting. Arsenal are planning to make an official announcement on Wednesday. The Gunners were fifth in the Premier League this season, the first time they have finished outside the top four since the Frenchman joined in 1996. They finished 18 points behind champions Chelsea, but beat the Blues 2-1 to win the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday. Wenger's contract was set to finish at the end of the current campaign. Read someplace that Pedro thinks Wilson can be a player but needs an experienced man beside him and ideally an experienced talented 'assassin' so to speak. Think Alves checks those boxes.

Would be very interesting if that came to pass. Maybe some cash and O'Halloran to sweeten the deal. I feel confident he could get us goals and with the defence and midfield taking shape it would be a whole different scenario from last time out. -
In this instance might be called integrity. What real manager would want an agent effectively picking his squad? That's always going to work out for the best right? Because the agent has only the best interests of the club in mind and is also a super coach. Right?

Didn't they promise the entire season ticket money would be made available and I think I remember a story saying Douglas Park was offering around 9 million with provisos about who was on the board. As for me I love it when they spend money to get the usual yahoos frothing at the mouth. Simple math isn't their forte. A club selling in excess of 40K season tickets will always have some money. I would be willing to bet the sheep and the rest wish they were as 'broke' as we allegedly are. I suspected from a few weeks back that they would expend a minimum 5 million or so. A UEFA inquiry must be demanded. Resolution 55
