The Pre-Summer-2017 transfer rumours and hearsay all inclusive Thread
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Lat I heard the Morelos deal is pretty much sealed with just the work permit to come which is supposedly a formality. We're building an impressive team and a strong bench with good capacity to mix things up a bit if and when required. -

Richard Wilson of the BBC already has Walker in the Rangers team he is predicting for next season in this article that was published just 5 hours ago. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40274993 -
I think it would be difficult even if they had lost no one. He had his relative success during a period when we were gone and both the Edinburgh duo had gone into a slump and were gone too. That's all over and it's now a different landscape. But now with the added problems of trying to recreate the core of a team I seriously see them in a battle just to be top 5 and McInnes will get the heat for what will in actual fact be their proper position as such. They have had 4 titles in their entire history 3 of which came under Ferguson and the last of which was over 30 years ago. They have had 7 Scottish cup wins and again 4 of those came in the Ferguson era and the last Scottish cup win was 27 years ago. Take out the Ferguson era and they have had 1 title and 3 Scottish cup wins in 114 years. That's the mark of a team which should recognise itself as an also run the vast majority of the time. The sheep followers don't seem to recognise that, simple arithmetic apparently isn't one of their talents. And McInnes will get the blame for their inability to recognise that. He should have bailed out if he could. Even if Sunderland too was going to be a tall order. Sunderland don't have hugely unrealistic expectations. The sheep do.

I feel confident that we may not just continue the dominance we had in so many games last season but even reinforce that dominance and this time turn it into goals. A whole batch of pumpings to be dished out. We need to hit the ground running and be undefeated for the first match with them which this season will be at Ibrox. Beat them, dent the confidence of their entire tribe and take it from there. -
Absolutely no chance he turned down a million a year because he wanted to be sheep manager.

Pretty confident they would be happy with that too

And so did O'Halloran

I like the idea of trying to get people in while effecting a trade to get others out. Balances out the wage bill while saving us up front money. If we can't get bodies out we could end up with a scenario where a sizable chunk of the available transfer budget has to be used paying people off. -

I will be extremely irritated if they part with a million to these blackmailers. The boy is desperate to come, if they want to sit back and then get nothing for him that's fine with me. We can wait and i'm sure Walker can wait too. This is what he wants and if he must he will wait to get it. He's holding all the aces. -
They got extremely lucky against City. They met them precisely at a time when City for some reason hit a slump after looking unstoppable in the early part of the EPL campaign. They then began dropping the points in the league that ultimately dropped them not just from pole position but even out of a challenging position. The yahoos had an all round lucky season. It's highly likely that only a late penalty miss in Israel saved them from crashing out of the Champions league and getting the chance to meet City at all.

I prefer that too. Aside from everything you mentioned it keeps the opposition guessing before and potentially even during matches if we can switch formation mid game.

I think he may fall just outside that ruling. Until the end of the season of his 23rd birthday, he was 23 on June 25th last year and the season of his 23rd birthday has just ended. He will be 24 in 11 days time. -
So is this a sign of what's to come next season formation wise?

Another feature of it all is that not a single one of them has made a penny from outgoings so far though it looks as if we will change that by getting a million for Garner. And keep in mind the support of some of these clubs have done nothing but scoff at our signings while they pick up cast offs from the charity bin. Any one of whom would have walked barefoot over broken glass to get to Ibrox if they had a chance of signing for us. EDIT: Something I forgot about when speaking of none of them getting a penny for outgoings. The sheep will get a fee for McInnes.

There was no real 'cycle' in which they became a second force. What was happening during this 'cycle'? Well we were gone for the bulk of it while at the same time the Edinburgh duo were spiraling downwards and were also gone for a period. That's all it was and now they will fall back into their proper position.

Not surprised they're ready to pony up given the upcoming European games and the current transfer dealings.

Hard to say what all this is about but judging from stuff I have read about him he may have turned up for training unfit to train after a night out on the booze and it seems the manager wont tolerate that. Or maybe even didn't turn up at all while sick as a dug after a night on the booze. I can understand the temptations because we have all been there but this is a short career and that's one of the sacrifices to make the big money. If he's a party animal who is consistently unfit to train he might find it difficult to get a game somewhere else they will pay him big money.

The sheep forums are saying there will be a clause in his departure stipulating he can't come back to raid their team for 12 months afterwards. One I suspect they're pulling that out of their arse and two I doubt it's even feasible to bind a club to a document saying they can't buy players from a specific other. Plus their board would take money from anybody making a good offer.

Massive new domestic and overseas Premier League broadcast deals kicked in from the start of this season and the scheduled parachute payments are now worth a minimum £85m. A new formula has been worked out based on a percentage of the £93m minimum payment that the side who finishes 20th receives.

Get that red headed girl with the big arse doing some shoveling in typical arse half out workie jeans. -
I'm also beginning to detect just a shade of reality creeping into sheep minds on their forums. Some beginning to concede that the 'duopoly' as they call it appears to be in the process of being re-established and that in the future their best hopes are going to be a third place finish and maybe a cup. And suddenly McInnes isn't so shite as they proclaimed him to be all season. Suddenly he is going to be hard to replace. As for their dreams of third place finishes and cup wins I would estimate either of those things could be a very tall order indeed for them in the coming season. I have an inkling they may have a battle on their hands to be top 4 far less third. They're going to be in a battle royal with the hubz and heartz plus St Johnstone just to be in the top 5.

The McKay factor appears to be turning into somewhat of a mystery right now. He had a less than inspiring season in which at times he couldn't even get a game but he is one of at least a few whom I would like to see continue in case being in this better side gets them really clicking. Garner is another I would like to hold on to for at least another year to see how he performs in the new look team.
