  1. I don't think St Johnstone are so bad. Prior to this they had been defeated just once and that was away to Kilmarnock who have a very good home record. They took a point from both the sheep and hubz.
  2. A minimum 2-0 result puts us into second above hubz on goal difference.
  3. Liverpool play away at Chelsea next Saturday. That will be an interesting encounter. Then at home to Man City the following week.
  4. Agree any type of win will do to put us ahead of them. For the first time since we came back? I think so. That alone will disturb them further.
  5. Yahoos beaten at Kilmarnock by a side that couldn't live with us on the same pitch. We're a better team than we think we are. The league is up for grabs. Win today we go a point ahead of them.

    SG family

I think he might see out the 4 years. The only step up from here and it would only be a step up in available finances would be the EPL. I doubt he would want to lead out a side against Liverpool so since the contracts of both he and Klopp expire at the same time he may see it out. It might actually be in our favour that his family are in Liverpool, has nothing to distract him. Said he went to see Shania Twain at the hydro last Friday night. Actually what he said was that he was bullied into going so I'm thinking his wife brought the kids up on the Friday and 'bullied' him into a night out at the show.
  7. Scored with a classic volley for Villa today. Think we can count ourselves lucky the yahoos bizarrely threw this one away.

    SG family

I have just discovered the answer to something I was wondering about and that's where are SG's family. Seems they still live in Liverpool but given his description of the setup I don't see it as a problem. He has 4 young kids ranging in age from 13 down to around 18 months and uprooting them would be a big ask given how young they are. And would anyone really want to put these kids into the potentially poisonous atmosphere of the old firm goldfish bowl? I know I wouldn't. His family comes up to Scotland every weekend and he goes home sometimes twice a week. Says he probably sees them more than he did when playing for Liverpool. Says he doesn't go out walking around much which is probably a good idea in the circumstances but also says he didn't do much of that in Liverpool either.
  9. Given where we were just a few months ago after a largely disappointing season and with no expectations at all of making the group stages this result is all the more remarkable. Top that off with this not being our strongest 11, throw in the fact we can only get better, then maybe we should start at least begin to believe what Gerrard said in a post match interview. I have been tentatively believing that since the first day of the season at the sheep pen. I'm starting to believe it more all the time. For me the biggest test to come in a little over 2 weeks is the Hearts game. Even if Hearts don't keep winning till then if we can produce a commanding win we're definitely on our way to challenging. There's a home Euro tie 3 days before that Hearts game but the league is our bread and butter. The road to a full and total recovery from the disaster of the past 6 years and our path to the riches of the CL.
  10. Who would have thought it, nay, dreamed it. Unbeaten in 10 consecutive Euro ties. Now wondering if that's a record.
  11. Think I may have rested Katic in the home match on Sunday rather than in this. Though in saying that the league has to be our priority. The Euro adventure is an entirely unexpected bonus and I most definitely bow to the judgement of Mr Gerrard.
  12. I don't get why Worrall was in ahead of Katic when not only hasn't he played alongside Goldson he hasn't played at all. Puzzling but we got an acceptable result.
  13. “PROUD” is how Steven Gerrard declared himself following tonight’s tremendous 2-2 draw with Villarreal at Estadio de la Ceramica. https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/gerrard-so-proud-of-players-2/
  14. Definitely got lucky in places, When that guy rose for the header at the end with just seconds remaining I though aw shit he can't miss but he did. And at the same time they rode their luck too. Think it was Arfield who could have put us 3-2 up with around 10 minutes or so to go? At the end of the day a draw was a fair result. But we get extra credit for an away draw while they failed to win at home.
  15. We took a point away in what should on paper be the toughest match we have to face in this group. And considering this wasn't our strongest 11 I think we can look forward with confidence.
  16. And Rapid, who everyone had down as the weakest of our 3 opponents, have beaten Spartak.
  17. I would have taken 2-2 beforehand and I will take it now. They're nominally the best team in the group and we took a point on their patch. We can compete at this level without being embarrassed.
  18. Where would we be withoutht McGregor. What a save.
  19. Ajax 3 - AEK Athens 0 Athens going to be the whipping boys of that group and could in fact effect the final outcome in the way of who scores the most against them. Yahoos bemoaning the fact they could have been those whipping boys shipping even more goals than that.
  20. Yes they're effectively saying who it was without saying it. At the end of the day we have to be glad Peat said anything at all rather than nothing at all.
  21. Sterling work on the Rangers graves projects an example of which I will just post here for anyone who may not have seen how impressive the work is. The grave of the legendary Mr William Struth, manager of Rangers for 34 years from 1920 to 1954. Mr Struths grave before work had been completed. Mr Struths grave after the restoration work
