  1. I'm looking at it from the perspective of trying to reduce the gap between us and all contenders ahead of us. Let's presume we will win. If the yahoos win they will maintain a 2 point gap ahead of us while if they draw we will draw level on points with them. And if it's a draw hubz who are 3 points ahead of us are pulled back to just 1 point while if the sheep beat hearts the gap between them and us reduces from the current 5 to just 2. It would be nice to reduce these gaps or even overtake all of them before the end of the first quarter.
  2. I'm thinking a draw would be the best outcome for us in yahoos v hubz while the sheep defeat hearts.
  3. I agree, always strongest possible side. But On Sunday we have a striker out due to the NI FA and the following Sunday we have both strikers out due to suspension and cup tied status. If we can take an early lead and look comfortable on Sunday at Hamilton it makes sense to experiment with the front line for the following Sunday which on paper should be a sterner test with no recognised striker. Striker is the one area we're relatively short on. We badly need those 3 points this Sunday and we badly need to put the sheep in their proper place the following Sunday. I believe Gerrard was right. We're a class above the sheep but we need to confirm that.
  4. When was the last time they qualified for the Europa league groups?
  5. I think if I were Lafferty moving into the latter stages of a football career I may respond to this with a call telling them not to consider me at all in future. Once into the 30's muscle strains become more frequent and the type of knock that used to take a couple of days or so to get over in the 20's now takes longer. I would be requiring the freedom to judge myself how I felt at the time and if they can't grant that freedom without a potential end result like this then I would be out.
  6. Don't see it making much if any difference to their situation. Somebody has to be relegated and they're going to be in that mix no matter who they have managing.
  7. Doesn't bother me a bit if our players don't get Scotland call ups at this time. The only thing I currently like about international breaks is that our squad get the chance to recuperate from a hectic domestic/euro schedule. The fewer of them playing during these breaks the better as far as i'm concerned.
  8. Might be said that given our historic footballing tradition we could/should be reaching the heights or at least being frequently on the verge. Croatia, World Cup Finalists 2018. Population 2017 estimate 4,154,200

  10. The 3 points v Hamilton are vital in the sense that it's not going to get much easier than this in an away match. With that in mind and considering we should have the squad depth to deal with Hamilton playing a virtual second string it's the only chance we have to experiment with the front line before the semi.

According to a sheep forum and after all the whining about ticket allocations they have currently sold less than 10,000
  12. An opinion I tend to agree with in the circumstances. https://thisisfutbol.com/2018/10/blogs/gerrard-must-unleash-grezda-on-sunday/

I'm unclear on whether the form of Sadiq is so bad or whether he's just failing to attain the fitness levels the manager requires. If it's fitness that's a serious attitude problem.

I had actually forgotten about the striker dilemma. I will trust the manager to come up with something and we have goals coming from all through the team.

I don't see this game as a must win in the way I did the Hearts game but at the same time I think we now need to be convincing the rest that we're better than you. At this point I think we can easily beat the sheep. Hearts are better than them and possibly hubs are too. They will probably simply try to stop us playing in the same way the also rans do.
  16. I think the fact he waited till midnight to make the call may suggest that he wanted to wait as long as possible before making the decision. Taking some time to decide if it were going to ease up. Plus he's in his 30's now. Struggling to get into a team with a young guy playing well keeping him out of his club side. Rangers pay his wages and if he feels resting this injury at his age is the best way to go that has to be accepted. Sitting on the bench loses him money so it would make sense to rest such a niggling injury in an effort to get game time with Rangers.
  17. It's one that always sticks in my mind and not just for the atmosphere after the comeback from 0-1 behind. With no away fans the silence in there when McAllister scored after barely a minute or so was almost eerie.
  18. It can only help reinforce what Gerrard had to say about any club interested in him.
  19. That's not the first time I have seen him say that.

The sheep have an average home gate of 15,775 so what's there to complain about? We on the other hand have an average home gate of 49,174 so it's we not they who have a problem with the ticket allocation.

It's often been said around here that youtube videos can be deceiving but in this instance we don't need to rely on a youtube compilation alone. We have seen what this boy can do recently and I hope we can tie him up permanently. Judging from what I have been hearing he would be happy to get a permanent deal so that part of it appears to be secured.
  23. Indisputably our most saleable asset but given that he's contracted till 2022 I want us to be holding on to him till at least 2020. He will be approaching his physical prime at that time and can only increase in value while we reap the benefits for another couple of years before cashing in. Also gives us another couple of years to scour the world looking for a young upcoming replacement to then repeat the scenario.
  24. While the international breaks frustrate me I do enjoy going into them on a high and with our hectic Euro/domestic schedule it may be seen as a welcome break to re-energise and fully recover from niggling knocks.
