  1. 'SO-CALLED PROFESSIONAL' Ex-Hearts star Stephen Elliott brands Neil Lennon ’embarrassing’, ‘immature’ and an ‘idiot’
  2. No one expected to be sitting so close behind them at this stage and as for the EL group position at the halfway stage no one expected to even be in that group far less topping it. It's still early days on the domestic front with another window coming up. We need to be patient.
  3. Any idea what exactly is going on there? Just some clown from the crowd coming on to the track for unspecified reasons then some other jumps out and takes a swing at him for further unspecified reasons?
  4. The sheer stupidity of Lennon is perfectly illustrated in that single grunt. There's a difference between goading and 'just giving a bit back'? Am I even dumber than he is? Because i'm not grasping the difference. In addition doesn't this amount to a form of retaliation which players are punished for? He's not going to stop this till it's explicitly stated that it's unacceptable for a football manager to carry on like that. And again, he's a full scale riot waiting to happen and that's been obvious for a long time before this incident.
  5. Yes but get this, he wasn't goading the crowd. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46052581
  6. Something has to be done about his behaviour which all on it's own dramatically reduces the chances of such incidents being repeated. If for example the footballing authorities or even the law were to introduce a rule stating managers must not gesticulate/interact with opposing crowds in any way which manager but him would even be affected by that? The answer is nobody. Lennon is the indisputable root of this coin incident, he's a full scale riot waiting to happen.
  7. I place the blame for this entirely on Lennon and it's way past time something was done about his antics. I saw in one article that he said his behaviour was simply a little return for stick the Hearts fans had been giving him. This is where we are? If a top level manager hears some stick from a crowd it's perfectly acceptable to turn around and goad that crowd? How about the ref who maybe get a bit of 'whose the bastard in the black? Can he turn around and goad the crowd after disallowing a goal for their team? Players aren't allowed to interact with crowds and certainly not goad them. Lennon is the origin of the incident. No goading no coin. He should be the starting point of the investigation.
  8. I have been working and didn't see it in fact just discovered the result and the stats seem to tell a familiar tale. We had 61% possession and 19 shots at goal against 7 for Killie. We had 7 shots on target against 2 for killie and 13 corners against 4 for Killie. We're outplaying these teams and failing to win. I just don't know what to make of it.
  9. Chances are Davis is just one potential target being considered. Encouragement for current incumbents in any area that with a window coming up they better perform. The manager said it in his press conference. If current incumbents aren't performing to our expectations we will replace them
  10. I think by now it has to be obvious to shareholders that Ashley is conducting a personal vendetta against Rangers rather than thinking in merely business terms. Not the kind of mentality I would want running any business I was invested in.
  11. Perhaps but you just never know. Only one or two players can make a massive difference and we have a window coming up. Plus I'm still hoping for Grezda to provide another dimension.
  12. That's not the first time I have seen him step in to rescue a player from such questions. I like that. There are some things he instantly intervenes with demonstrating to these press hounds that you don't talk to my player about that. You talk to me.
  13. Understand your point though personally I see the league cup as somewhat of a paper cup in the current era and will always opt for points ahead of that if it were a choice between the two. I definitely haven't given up on the league. We're still well in the mix and a good run can see us remain there in the mix. We have a good side/squad who can play good football. I'm simply looking for the management team to iron out what we might call the teething problems of a new team. Go into the Winter break on a good run and we're in it.
  14. I'm more disappointed in the fact that we still struggle to break down these park the bus tactics and still get caught out by the sucker punch than I am in the result as such. At the end of the day if it came to a choice between losing to the sheep on Sunday or losing to Killie in the league I would have opted for the sheep loss. The league is and has to be our priority. I suspect Killie may not be as 'diddy" as the sheep clearly are and may come to play some football. That suits us and more often than not will result in a win. I'm hoping for full points in the league before the January window when we may be able to bring in a solution to breaking down these sheep style teams. And maybe Grezda is the solution. That remains an unknown.
  15. It's nothing to do with Hampden. We're simply seeing the same problems we have become accustomed to when facing a park the bus strategy. Before they scored relatively late on the sheep were demanding the head of McInnes then he goes from villain to hero when all that changed was a goal. They puzzle me. McInnes sets up as he does because they don't have the quality to do anything else. Surely they would learn that's what they do because that's all they can do. All this vacuous babble about 'having a go' solving everything is mindless given their obvious limitations. They did exactly the same thing against hibs last round and got exactly the same result while being played off the park yet still in their view McInnes 'shites' it and needs to 'have a go' I wish he would because if he did we would be the ones in the final. And a far more entertaining final than they will provide.
  16. It's what they do. They were completely dominated by hibs in the last round and came away with the same result.
  17. The manager is a conssumate professional and a smart guy. He wouldn't be playing Sadiq in a game like this unless he were confident the player can be effective. An indication of how seriously he views this game is the fact he's playing McGregor in goal. Fielding the strongest available side.
  18. My major concern for this is that they're going to be kicking and grabbing from the outset. Is the ref going to allow this or let some football be the deciding factor. Even their bleating following are asking for little more than a kicking match in which our players are injured and ideally in their view seriously injured.
  19. Sad story and could have been a lot worse. I have always had concerns about helicopters over football stadiums and in fact any populated area. It's an inherently unstable form of flight.
  20. Found this shared on a Rangers facebook page called 'Rangers Football Club No Surrender' which also in fact shares the gersnet podcast.
  21. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says there is a five-horse race for the Premier League title after nine games. Defending champions City top the table, level on points with unbeaten Liverpool - with Chelsea, Arsenal and Monday's opponents Tottenham two points behind. When asked if it was a five-horse race for the title, Guardiola replied: "I don't have any doubt about that. "There are only two points difference between five or six teams. It's strong. Tottenham are always there." The Spaniard added: "Last season we did really well in both games, but they are a top team." City travel to Wembley to play Tottenham the day after the stadium stages an NFL match between Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles. Guardiola said his side would "have to adapt" to the condition of the pitch. "I am sure Tottenham have a good green keeper [groundsman]. Hopefully they can finish their stadium as quickly as possible, but it is what it is. It is not necessary to complain." Pep Guardiola: Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all in race
  22. Yeah, wasn't much of a discussion when you have one plumping for what he wants for his son rather than what is likely to happen and the other sounding punch drunk or maybe just plain drunk.
  23. Si Ferry discusses this weekends League cup semi finals with Derek Ferguson and Frank McAvennie.
  24. Perfectly understandable and I presume most if not all of us here would find ourselves in a similar situation to Derek Ferguson. But in saying that if Derek had to bet his sons life on the outcome I would hazard a guess he too would go for a Rangers win. All of this doesn't mean we will win because nothing in football is ever certain but we're heavy favourites for a reason. The reason being we're clearly a far better team than they are. A class above as Gerrard would say.
