  1. Lol. Surely the last game that linesman will get in a while?
  2. I don't understand how they are not being hounded by the banks for money when we are, even allowing for the fact that their income is vastly greater than ours is their £700+ million debt really more manageable than our £30mil?
  3. Whilst he has not be a roaring success over there it's still big news. With all the money they wasted on him and all their crowing over sealing his signature they're looking a bit daft now (granted it was the previous manager who signed him). With Mowbray wasting large sums on Fortune and others perhaps having more money than us isn't the great advantage they'd like to think.
  4. Should be easy for Fraser to write his preview this week. We'll only have about 10 fit out field players to pick from.
  5. I don't feel the need to respond to EB's post and digress the debate as you've said much of what I would have in response (and probably in a more legible way). One thing I would say to EB. Seeing as he is unwilling to take any criticism of the trust; I don't understand your view that anyone who doesn't support he trust 100% regardless of the dubious agenda of some of the head honchos is to create another fan group. The fan base as a whole, particularly those active online and within organisations already agree we have too many groups who are dividing the support, making it difficult to rally around behind one flag and having no direction or large support. So why are you suggesting forming another group? All that will do is weaken the fan base as a whole and further divide the support. I would also add I was formally a member of the trust though not really active due to a number of reasons. When my membership lapsed I didn't renew it because I was not very comfortable with the way control was seized by individuals whose main concerns seemed to be personal advancement rather than the more honourable aims the Trust was formed upon. If that is not a fair reflection of events that is a fault of the clandestine nature of the RST and it's members and not those viewing from the outside as there is still a lot of secrecy over precisely what happened.
  6. During last season it appeared to me many were desperate to talk up Mendes to show we didn't need Fergie as they wanted him out the door. Similar to the fans who were ott in their criticism of Boyd and lauded Lafferty last year. Go on FF now and you'll see people desperate to avoid criticism of Lafferty but were not so generous when it came to Boyd. It's a fascinating phenomenon. You already no some fans opinion of a player's performance before a game has been contested.
  7. I would tend to look at players where the majority opinion was wrong but it took a large base of the fans to come round to this. E.g. Hutton. Better than Bardsley when PLG wouldn't pick him. Played excellently from November of PLG's season, but took many fans until well into the new year to realise this. Even when he was struggling for form and apparently shite I could see there was a very good footballer in him. The only player I would say I was "wrong" about recently was Miller. And even then I wouldn't say I was 100% wrong. He is still inconsistent but his scoring record this season has definitely proven me wrong on at least part of his game. I didn't think he had that in him. As I say though, in his return spell he has still shown some of the same faults I expected.
  8. I've not listened to any of the phone-ins but have heard about the deranged Tims whining about the Establishment. Love the photo shops.
  9. I like the look of 3-0 too Ian. McCulloch, Miller and Davis.
  10. That was pretty much Cal's point though, I guess.
  11. Your first sentence is a string of contradictions. And "still can't forget his thuggery"?
  12. Assumed this was bs when it was posted before. Happy we're not going for him though.
  13. Cheers for the update elfi.
  14. Here's an idea. How about the RST learn to take criticism and don't behave like children. Oh and how can you challenge anyone to start their own organisation? RST previous actions in light of things like Setting the Standard show that the RST are more interested in their own advancement than that of the club. The RST would not welcome another group who are trying to better Rangers, they would see a new group as the "enemy" and attack them and aim to bring them down.
  15. At least that Sunday Post article had some quotes and they were reasonably positive reading.
  16. Sounds like my luck.
  17. Aye for those other teams!
  18. This page from the Official site quotes Walter as saying Miller and Lee are back from suspension now.
  19. I'm certain he's back now.
  20. Btw, with Miller and McCulloch back next weekend and with Walter saying Beasley and Naismith might be too i'll be hoping for a much improved performance in that one.
  21. Hence the use of the word "hopefully".
  22. 9 points would put us in a very strong position. Even 7 over the remainder of the month would mean Celtic (at best) would only match our points total this month. I'm just looking forward (hopefully) to number 53 and hopefully a stronger Rangers thanks to the associated improved financial results.
  23. Lol @ Ian's response, but hope you are right. A lot of statements in that article not backed up by a single quote.
  24. Love those quotes Ian, would enjoy laughing at any more you find. I would like to see a comparison with their views at the start of this season and before we regained our title. I'll bet it would be night and day.
