  1. Overheard a bit on SSN at work today. Did they say he had failed a trial at Livingston a few years ago! If I heard correctly they gave an overview of his career, mostly playing for minnows and in lower divisions.
  2. The former Rangers boy who went on loan down south and was outscoring Jon Stead in a poorer team prior to Stead's million pound transfer to Blackburn?
  3. Didn't like the comments about how flush he is. No need for that. Shades of Bellamy. But he' quite right to tell Charlie Ridiculous to stfu. A bad tackle aye, but it happens and we've seen a lot worse. "The tacke that shocked Scottish football"? Fuck the fuck off. What a load of balls!
  4. Agree with Gazza i'm afraid and we know i'm usually pretty positive. I take the point that in light of the performance the result was not disastrous. But with Celtic having their game postponed and a potential fixture backlog building up we could have done without the replay and taken advantage of a less congested fixture schedule as we attempt to retain the title.
  5. Are you being selective with these stats? As surely trophies won is the statistic that matters and Eck certainly does not surpass Smith here. Eck was a good manager for us over the piece, with an horrific season that led to his sacking. But you're a piss poor fisherman and wind up merchant.
  6. Text I received: "Do you think Adebayor ran the length of the bus to celebrate in front of the gunners this time"?
  7. Broadfoot and Nacho offered new contracts. Thommo and Miller available this weekend. Rothen wants to return home (though this contradicts quotes attributed to him elsewhere). In consideration of the financial restrictions we currently operate under it's a fairly positive article I guess.
  8. Not suggesting Boyd is a better player (he is a better goalscorer though :spl:) but it's food for thought. Boydies is unlikely to come on as a sub for a Barcelona Champions League winning team, but i'm glad he's a Ranger.
  9. If we could get Boyd and Bod in the starting line up imagine how many we'd score? Be sure to tell me when I've kicked the arse out of this btw.
  10. No Bod = No Goals = No Title surely?
  11. I know there's less of you these days, but for those who don't fancy Boyd do you wonder why all the tims want to talk about this transfer window is Boyd and where he's going?
  12. Gers 26th. Not bad. Shame the last two years have been crap. Need at least a medium success next time to maintain our ranking. Is this where we will be ranked for next years tournaments?
  13. Sorted. Taking liberties editing Frankie's post. :box:
  14. Was that in response to me? I know it's a bit daft to look ahead and count the points before we've played the games. But after taking an excellent haul from a difficult run of games we should be looking to press home our advantage. All those are games we should collect 3 points in. However, in recent years we have dropped points against the likes of St Mirren and ICT so can take nothing for granted. A decent availbility of players in the squad and the right attitude should see us collect maximum points in the next 4 or 5 league games and that is exactly what we should aim for.
  15. Decent run of fixtures actually. Anything less than full points is a cock up!
  16. It's hard to keep up with who said what and when so the timeline of these comments is hazy. So initially Walter said we would have to sell in Jan? Then Johnston came in and prior to his first statement or the AGM an extended facility with the bank had been agreed and hence the situation had changed? With guys like wabash constantly stoking the fires with bs it's hard to follow what is going on.
  17. Sounds promising Elderslie, thanks for the update. Agree with John above about it being better for accies to play it this weekend.
  18. Agree. I don't think it matters what position he played in. Sure being out of position wont have helped him, but the severe lack of physical attributes would have hampered him on either flank. A lack of pace, fitness and defensive contribution meant he would have failed whatever. The physical attributes are every bit as important as the technical ability and tactical nouse in modern football. It is part of why Ronaldo is possibly the best in the game atm. Lightning pace and acceleration, strength, power (leading ot jumpin ability and dominance in the air possibly not seen from a winger and flair player before). Yes, he might play a cynical game when it comes to diving but he can use his strength to ride challenges and bully opponents.
  19. Not that I doubt you, you always seem to know what you're talking about when it comes to finances, but do you have anything specific to back this up? For example something Johnston has said in the press that alludes to this being the case. Would feel more confident in that being the reality if there was some form of confirmation from the club. However, based on the evidence of what has happened and been said (although not specific quotes i've seen pertaining to the above suggested compromise) it would be the most obvious explanation of the current circumstances.
  20. I haven't had the joy of listening to Celtic melt down on the radio shows, but it appears they have been pushing this agenda there. I think at best it's about 55% - 45% Celtic. However, as Cal rightly points out if we hadn't succumbed to ridiculous fixture congestion piled upon us by the SPL and the member clubs we could have edged the trophy count. Celtic got the better of the noughties, but we dominated the 90's. Whilst we are weak off the field atm, we have the better of them on the field and need to press home that advantage. Success on the field will transfer to success off it and hopefully lead to another decade more reminiscent of the 90's. :spl:
  21. I'll take one, unless Ian or someone else who hasn't had a shot wants to do one?
  22. Snyde and Radio Scotland have apparently reported that Bain and his agent are holding talks tomorrow. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/8447289.stm
  23. Send it my way when you're done.
  24. In the time they were directly in competition, Eck took more of the available honours. Over their tenures at the club they are fairly equal. And Eck made the knock out stages of the Champions Leagie Kind of funny that O'Neil is held in such high regard over there whilst amongst our own and even the press McLeish takes a lot of flack.
  25. Has this been being discussed on the phone ins? Been reading an interesting thread on FF. Seems the tims are claiming the noughties was a decade of dominance for them. Whilst the bears are arguing they are merely trying to push this agenda to make amends for our dominance in the nineties. Anyway, here's the facts: The "noughties": And the real decade of dominance, the nineties: :spl:
