Aye, but this is a Rangers forum. Defoe, Rooney, Drogba and Suarez don't play for Rangers (unfortunately). But thankfully golden boot contender Kris Boyd does.

Premature my arse. No one said he woudl win it, just that he's in the running. And with half a season to go and only 2 players, whose season's have finished, just ahead of him he is in the running.

Current rankings. Boyd 3rd, the two above have finished their seasons. Defoe, Rooney and Suarez are strong contenders. Drogba will miss games with the ACN.

Anyone else almost a bit disappointed Boyd broke the record a game too early? I'm obviously glad he scored, it's always good to see Rangers score another, even if you have money on 3-0 and the 4th goes in. But how good would it have been to see this at their midden instead: Hook Boyd at 3-0 and let the others rattle a few in.

Earlier in the week I had been hearing he'd get banned for the OF if he picked up a booking before it. Good to see that is incorrect. Better to have players missing against "weaker" opposition if they have to miss a game.

Maybe it was injury then. It's not the why that's important though, just the fact he hadn't been playing, only for Burley to ignore Boyd because apparently he wasn't playing either (frankly not true).
