Pick your Gersnet team to shame the current impostors
Super_Ally replied to Super_Ally's topic in Rangers Chat
Ha ha. My bad. I was "pished as a fart" to be fair. -
This about sums it up. The engine room is vital and on paper we have far superior options than any other club in Scotland. So why do they play like we are inferior to every other team in Scotland? Not one single midfield player is performing atm.

Saw something on this in the paper the other week. Sticks in my head that the longest in recent years before the first managerial change was something like November 21st, but don't hold me to that. Lol.

But I never said I score more often than Hugh Hefner. -

Played for some Welsh mob. I forget who. Probably Cardiff or someone. lol -
That was in the first 10-15 minutes. Watch any game of football on sky and occasionally they'll give you the stats for the last 5 minutes. You'd be amazed how slanted that stat is, as any game is played in "cycles".
-
I wasn't disagreeing with you. More a continuation of your point. Though with your last line you're back to Barry.

Shots blocked: Unirea 1? Did we not "block" all their goals into our net?

You do get leaders who lead by doing. Through the quality of their performance alone it inspires team mates. 2 problems. 1) We don't have that captain. No offence Weir. 2) I think that only works in a team where the rest of the players are top quality themselves. At lower levels you need a player who shouts, cajoles, threatens and bullies his team into action. I'm not saying you need to bully. You can put an arm round the shoulder and drag a team mate or team through the game. But the leading through your own performance doesn't work. A more hands on or interactive approach is needed when your team mates are not of the very top level imo.

Aye, sorry, the last comment meant to move it away from Barry and on to the current crop. Who could do it? I have no bother in shouting at people at football. I don't mean slagging them, but telling people what to do when they're not. So men who are far better at the game than me should be more than capable of talking to each other.
-
We need at least one big character on the field demanding the same from his team mates.
-
I don't get it wrong often, but I was one of the worst offenders in respect of the above. I thought he'd show his worth tonight.
-
If he's pish all the time, Craig and beattie are right. But Craig at least admitted Fergie is a better bet then Mendes who is a guaranteed starter atm.
-
Which day is this? I only know Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday? Seriously though, I think you make a good point.

McGregor Whittaker Weir Bougherra (if fit) Papac Novo Thomson Mendes Naismith Boyd Miller Maybe not radical enough in changes for some. But that's the strongest line up available imo. Drop Rothen and Davis. Keep Lafferty away til he's fit and actually demonstrates some of this amazing talent I have yet to see. Bring back in our star player assuming he is fit. Play our best striker. Our best forward. I know some think there's a distinction. But there's not. Forward or Striker? Semantics. Boyd can be crap. But then mostly so are the rest of them so we'll stick with the one who is most likely to win us a game. Because all the running about in the world has not produced a positive result agains the better opposition Boyd is not deemed good enough to play against. More might get dropped with viable options.
-
Thats about it. People think i'm odd when, for example like tomorrow, i'll be asked what happened last night and my response will be "I don't want to talk about it".
-
Doesn't matter. You don't ignore your duties as captain whilst you struggle to live up to your individual duties as a player.
-
I bet I would agree with most of what you are saying but in the context of tonight, the anger we all feel and the beers I have drunk i'm not sure what argument you are for and I am against, or vice versa. I'll try again in tomorrow when i'm not tired, sober and less pissed off. Sorry.
-
Would cost us more money. And we're probably talking ten fold. Cost for them to send a scout to watch a player over a few games, compared to us? Cost to sell said player to a Romanian team compared to us? Other costs I'm not even aware of?
-
But that's what i'm saying. He has potential. Yet some act like he's already fulfilled it and is first choice already. Going on what they produce in a Rangers jersey Kyle is behind Miller, Novo, Naismith and Boyd for a start atm. Albeit taking into account form.

Good post. Never did join the BF bashing band wagon. An analogy that wont go down well, but fuck it. Roy Keane is one of the best CMs of the EPL's history. And by fuck did he moan. If you weren't up to Man U's standards, sorry Roy's standards, then he fucking told you. That's exactly how Fergie was. Players got moaned at because they didn't reach his expectations of a Ranger (on the field at least). Exactly how fans behave.

Booing players is never a positive. But can often be a negative.

Thought I hadn't seen you on there recently. Lol. I know it's not fair to read stuff elsewhere than take out my frustrations here. But I read nonsense elsewhere then come back here to discuss it just to affirm my belief that it is nonsense, or if not, read a reasoned argument of why it is correct. Not always, but I do admit this happens a fair bit.
