  1. C'mon pete, smother Hemdani? Can we stop with that nonsense. Hemdani just isn't/wasn't that good and can't play a forward pass, so you are forced to take it off his toes if you want the ball to go forward. Also it's not like Hemdani is some junior player in awe of his team mates. He's an international, ex-captain of one of France's biggest teams and seasoned pro himself. If he felt he was being "smothered" by Fergie he should be standing up for himself and doing something about it. Thing is he seemed happy enough for Fergie to take all the creative responsibility from him and cannot use such a tame excuse as you seemed determined to find for him. Why in denegrating Fergie do fans turn other players into these poor bullied little kids. If they aren't "man enough" to stand up for themselves and perform their own roles they shouldn't be in the game, they should go and find a job in which they can act like men and not little boys. Its frankly embarrassing to do this and no doubt the other players do not want to be thought of in such pathetic terms.
  2. Is this blatant attempt at boosting hits for the bbc website to be allowed? Find it quite irritating when people are to lazy to post an entire story and even more so when they are just posting a taster as advertising for another site.

  4. Teams? Gordon Broadfoot Weir Caldwell ( ) Naysmith? Brown Fletcher Thomson McFadden/Maloney Boyd Miller
  5. The Phelps diet, even fat Charlie couldn't finish that lot off.
  6. One fan's view who attended the game today: Shocking result for a team full of essentially first team players.
  7. Bear feet?
  8. An odd one to drop him for JCD after his performance the other night and he was rank again yesterday. Miller's first goal was a typical "Boyd" type poachers goals. Very suprised and impressed with the goals.
  9. About time. Goals win games!!!!!
  10. A little concerning as that should be a strong side. The likes of Smith, Burke and Adam have a lot of first team experience. As does Edu albeit in the MLS and many are wanting to see Aaron in the first team now. For a reserve fixture there's a lot of first team experience there and they should be doing better if they wish to feature in the first team.
  11. I missed the game due to work, but by all accounts boyd struggled overall and a poor game although was involved in some key momments such as the build up to the first. I also am unconvinced he could play the lone striker role, particularly the way in which we would intend to play in that formation. I just think if we are to slag a player off we can at least be truthful about it and not just be lazy and regurgitate comments read and repeated many times on the internet.
  12. No need to take the piss now. Just can't annoyed by the laziness of some people. Poster "x" on a website has stated this so therefore it can be stated as fact indefinitely, irrepsective of evidence to the contrary being available in nearly every game we play.
  13. Can't find the post I wanted to respond to. Cna we stop accepting a lie as fact just because it is repeated often enough, it's timmyesque behaviour. Missed the game today, but noticed that a Boyd header led to the first goal. Boyd wins flick on, player runs on to it resultign in a goal. Boyd is not "terrible" in the air and jsut because it is stated repeatedly on threads on for example FF does not make it the case. It is a relatively minor point in the grand scheme of things. But it is real bug bear of mine over the last season or two. Actually watch what occurs in games and don't accept ill informed or ridiculous opinions of players and their ability to perform a particular skill as fact.
  14. Whats the grounds for doing that unless something offensive or libelous has been said?
  15. Aye pipe down
  16. A point I have tried to raise previously. And with Cousin gone, who only played the "big" games, it becomes even more pertinent! Whilst that may allow for our best options in midfield, i think it leaves us with an impotent attack.
  17. Missed the first 15 minutes or so with trouble with streaming. Had an effort very well saved by Combe, almost wonder save imo, not that he just blocked it but managed to turn it high over the goal almost off the floor. Not a fluid performance with attack linking the play. But then the likes of Mendes didn't play as well but i'm not willing to lay that Boyd's door (apparently the only difference between our last 2 displays is Boyd!). No Thomson beside Mendes in midfield and Beasley having a stinker for the first 45 wont have helped the attackers. Wasn't great, but then the team improved when Beasley went off and Novo came on and actually attacked his man.
  18. For example the very penalty "incident" we're discussing. Any normal fan of the attacking team would be looking for a penalty, not asking for their player to get booked.
  19. Not true I just don't think you view incidents involving Boyd with an open mind or even with the view you would for other Rangers players.
  20. IMO and Pete's who's in the "anti-Boyd" camp with yourself and Gribz it was enough contact. However even if you are determined to see very little right with his play, as you certainly are, you cannot definitely say it was not. I actually think it was, but was trying to play devil's advocate almost. As such, whilst you cannot be certain it was then it just smacks of a petty grudge against the player and you are looking for any excuse to run him down. I imagine you are one of those fans who slags him for "always falling over" when he's being fouled and winning free kicks in dangerous areas. Another fallacy of the "Boyd can do not right campaign" is that he is poor in the air. He's actually pretty adept at winning flick ons but these outstanding team players that partner him upfront like the presence of mind to gamble on the flick on and run into space. I think I would have been better sticking to my guns and taking a hard line positive view on the incident.
  21. As I say I genuinely feel, subconsciously or not people are looking to view this incident in a negative light becuase of the player involved. Whether or not people feel it was a penalty, the defender made contact with Boyd that cause him to fall. Quite ridiculous to use it as a stick to beat Boyd with.
  22. I was trying to be as neutral as possible but I think it certainly could have been given. It's a shame that some of our fans don't wish to appear to want Boyd to succeed as much as they do so many other players. I certainly think there is an issue with pre-conceptions of players going into games and incidents. I think if a more popular player to BD or Gribz had been inolved in an indentical issue they would be praising the player and screaming for a penalty. Obviously i'm open to this too and that's why I tried to give a more neutral view of the incident and put less of a blue-tinted spin on it.
  23. Aye, turned to my flat mates and said that's my mate just scored. Seriously wish i'd had the balls to chat a bit more with him, but was clear he just wanted peace to watch the footy while he waited for his lad.
  24. Just speaking to my mate and we wondering how the loan stars are getting on? Webster, Furman and Gow down south and the youngsters away at the likes of Partick and Clyde. Lennon and Lowing etc. Appreciate any updates.
  25. Watched it online. Definite contact. Whether it was enough to put him down is up for debate. However from years of watching and playing the game sometimes it only takes a small amount of contact around your ankles to bring you down. Still say that he did make use of his options though, he chose to run at the defender, drive into the box into a dangerous area and was unfortunate to be brought down.
