Could someone, preferably the club although we know that is a non-starter, so the RST or similar seek clarification on what law people are actually breaking and are being arrested before. Demand a public statement clarifying this, which would be impossible to do, and therefore show up what a sham this is?

Not sure that Boyd as ever been particularly overweight at Rangers. Similar to Adam, although with Adam it is more pronounced due to his physique, he has a large build. I have heard Adam, for example is one of the fittest in terms of his stamina or aerobic fitness. People just confuse a lack of pace or acceleration for being fat/overweight. Also re: the Davie Cooper story. Your average person would not be recommended to drop half a stone in just 4 days and I don't see that it woudl be particularly healthy and possibly detrimental to performance for an elite athlete.

So because the media/police in this country all have an IQ of about 7 and are unable to understand the context of something someone is singing we are to be arrested for it? Absolute fucking joke. The more I live in this ridiculous country the more pissed off of it I get and I never thought i'd say that. Welcome to the Catholic Republic of Scotland.

Durrant claimed Dailly's sending off would help the rehab of Fergie et al as they would have to work harder to make up for being a man down. Surely having to work even harder at this stage of recvoery could in fact hinder there return to full and match fitness.
-
Why oh why did we extend Dailly's contract?

True Frankie. So it was good to hear Smith praise his overall game and not just the goals on Saturday. And last night was a continuation of that. Whether or not he's convinced Smith he can do against the better sides we'll have to wait and see.

Reported. Racist!

Was hoping this would be more an appreciation of the fact that Boyd has been doing some things in the last two games that just haven't been seen before, expecially in terms of linking playing and holding the ball up. Totally agree he needs to continue this in the upcoming games and when he's given his chance in the bigger games, he needs to replicate this kind of display. However I hope those who appear to be waiting for him to fall on his face again (not aimed at anyone here btw, but there are some who it appears can't wait for his performance to drop again) give him more than one off game before shouting about how they were right all along and it was a false dawn. Lets watch his performances over the next half dozen games or so (assuming Walter doesn't chop and change too much) and see if he manages to keep to a relatively consistent level. At any rate, it's been encouraging to see (one cross field ball alst night was almsot sublime from Boyd) and let's hope it continues.

The only thing that concerns me is that any time one of our players shows a few months form, he's off and we have to try and fix another position that was previously covered. Can Whittaker shows his Hibs form when he was putting in Hutton-esque performances? If so would maybe be decent business. Would prefer to see Kirk stay though.

Rangers 2 : 0 Hamilton - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I think last night was a difficult one for picking motm. Noone was exceptional, noone was awful. Just lots of steady performances. Could've been anyone from Boyd, Davis, Mendes, Edu and Kirk imo. -
I agree, the signs were there earlier. However the link play and holding up of the ball i've seen in the last two games has been very good. I'm not saying he didn't have the odd slack pass or mis-control. All you want is for him to retain possession more often than not. I'm sure we'll get the "it was only a diddy team" or "needs to do it more often" responses, however I prefer instead to be positive and say i'm pleased to see signs of massive improvement and hope it continues. His goalscoring ability is such that he doesn't need to have the best hold up play or link play in the world to justify his selection. But certainly, if he improves (or atm maintains) this aspect of his game, it's a no-brainer that he starts.

http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1435745,00.html Papers talking shit again? Smith only wants him to go out on loan for match sharpness.

Jon will be pleased to hear that Boyd played well again tonight. Scored the obligatory goal of course. But as I was sat in the Copland got a great view of his link play in the second half tonight. Dropped deep at times to look for the ball, took passes in from team mates and then found one with the pass. A few cracking passes in behind the full backs to wide players or a fellow striker. Always looking for team mates in and around the box if the shot wasn't on for hi. 2 games, 2 good all round performances where he also scored. One of the players challenging for motm tonight, although Davis was probably just about the correct choice. Another great game from Boyd though and must start again v ICT.

Agreed Cal. McDonald's "red card" challenge too?

Unashamedly stolen from another forum, but with the points being made on "Chick Young's" Famine thread I found this particularly interesting and would definitely support it myself if it appeared all/most fans would and it was a viable option (unfortunately neither is probably the case):

Gossip column on bbc has the Record saying we're willing to let him go. Seems an odd one to me. Why support him through his injuries to lose him for nothing. Will just have been a futile and expensive exercise.

Cheers for that Frankie. Traynor has written a lot of defamatory crap over the years and I have criticised him then, so credit where it is due, he appears to be the only journalist or politician in the entire country who is utilising any common sense. Instead of doing the easy thing and jumping on the anti-Rangers band wagon, he is telling it like it is. What is this mock offence all about. When and why did politicians and Journo's believe they had to start taking the fun out of the game and out of the terraces. Also got to say Calscot's post is fantastic. Sums up all my frustrations and the ridiculousness of the position of those with the power to influence public opinion. Couldn't have written my own thoughts down any better than Calscot has managed. Obviously the decision is yours Frankie, but I would definitely post it as a main site article to try and gain a greater exposure to the common sense opinion on this idiotic crusade.

Aye it was a fairly weak response from the club. Instead of actually defending the fans or saying something with a bit more weight behind it they just sort of meakly accepted that we couldn't really be arrested for the songs and that was about it. Fair play to Roy Keane after the Sunderland-Newcastle game where he was aked about fan conduct and jus said something along the lines of "if you think i'm going to criticise Sunderland fans you're wrong". Ps What has Traynor said? Always thought he was one of the worst.
-
I just find it amazing that there is no one anywhere willing to point out how one-sided this ridiculous agenda is. Surely any outsider looking in can see how uneven this media campaign is?
-
Hope it is as enjoyable as Saturday.
-
The situation is beyond ridiculous. No attempt at even-handedness, massive amounts of hypocrisy and a complete one-way street with regards to treatment of fans at clubs in Scotland. How is there not one sane minded individual employed within the journalism profession who can point out what a disgusting farce this is?
-
Can see Gav's point but would be more inclined to rest Miller. Let Boyd have tonight's game as like an extra training session, keep him fit hopefully

Apparently the big centre forward was a guy called Akins, not offiong as i've been stating.

Shame Thommo is sturggling with a knock again, but maybe this will be a good game to give Edu an opportunity to show what he can do.
