  1. Good to see you using you expertise to help him out Frankie. Cracking wee site he has.
  2. I would honestly sell Beasley for a fiver. I don't often write players off quickly. Sebo was one of the few. I'm all for giving people a chance. Lafferty has shown glimpses that suggest he's got something to offer for example. Beasley just does not have the attributes to excel in Scotland and has shown nothing since Lyon last year.
  3. If we were complaining we had a goal chalked off that we shouldn't have got then fair enough. But we are complaining that a goal was wrongly chalked off that would have won us the game. Effectively what you are saying is that we need to win every game 2-0 just to record a 1-0 score line and that is ridiculous. Even the best teams will win games by the odd goal. If the officials deny them those goals then what chance do they have?
  4. Didn't know he'd moved onto Malmo tbh. And didn't realise his strike rate was so poor. Didn't think he was a goal machine per se, but certainly thought it would be more respectable. That's about 1 in 3/4 at us. About 1 in 6ish at Charlton. Norwich must have been a half season or so on loan right? Nearly 1 in 2 in Sweden though.
  5. Actually thought Novo was unlcuky to get subbed at HT at the weekend, had that cracking turn and effort off the post and in what was a fairly sub standard first half was not the worst offender. Not saying he's been great, but he's been less poor than his competitors for the position. Lafferty looked like a fish out of water on the left. Terrible positioning when defending and unable to retain possession.
  6. Looking on another forum and people are still championing the Beasley cause. Why? Of all those played LM he has been the worst. For my money Novo, whilst hit and miss, has been the best performer on the left this season and deserves a run of games to get into a rhythmn until on e of the others show they are capable of holding down the position. Lafferty and Beasley have been woeful and no one else has taken any opportunities given to them. By all accounts Aaron has not done it in the reserves. For me Novo is the only option. That's not to say i'm overly excited by this proposition, i'm just saying he is the best available option.
  7. Always though he looked good at Charlton after he left us. At least for a couple of seasons. If he was scoring for Charlton in the EPL he surely could've done us a turn? Not sure how he's doing now though?
  8. Those we would like to/need to get rid of: JCD McCulloch Dailly Hemdani Maybes: Burke Velicka And I'm sure there's plenty more. Unfortunately there's little chance of getting money for these chancers. The only people likely to leave are McGregor and until his injury Thommo. I don't see anyone coming in without significant funds raised and as such we're only likely to weaken the team/squad.
  9. I'm not saying we should just complain at officials when we don't win games. But as TBH rightly says we can't, and shouldn't, be expected to win every game by more than one goal because of incompetent officiating.
  10. Lefferty and Miller were our two worst players in the first half. In fact I dont think KL managed to retain possession until his first touch of the second half. Miller was a disaster infront of goal. Would probably have had them both off. First substitution should have came after 60mins at the latest as it was obvious it jsut wasn't working.
  11. I've never understood this p.o.v. Surely it is upto us to win within the laws of the game. We did that Pittodrie and Fir Park and should be sat level on points at the top at worst. Instead we trail four behind.
  12. At least the doctor's prognosis (sp) sounds positive.
  13. Tbh don't remember anyone standing out as having a great game. McGregor was relatively untroubled and had that one world class save. But Well threatened the goal so little throughout the rest of the game that I dunno if I would even give it to AM.
  14. The key bit is in your assessment of Sionko: "should've done well at Rangers, but didn't". What matters is what he does in the Royal Blue. All of PLG's signings were universally shite with the excpetion of Clement who was average whilst here and Papac who came good after he left. Craig sums it up pretty well, if a bit generous with some.
  15. Hard to agree with any of that bar the last paragraphon Papac.
  16. Sorry Cal, didn't mean to knock you. Phrased that badly. Meant it was a further sad indictment(sp) of PLG's tenure.
  17. Hoping for a Boyd goal, and more importantly a win. That's a shocking record against any club.
  18. Hoping we can keep our good record going against the Tims assuming they make it through.
  19. Good news. Yet more scorn cast on the PLG era there though Calscot.
  20. Well is Jeffries not "doing a McGhee" and resting his best players tonight?
  21. Don't normally disagree with much in your rants. That said Beasley should be the furthest name from the team sheet out of any first team player. Absolute impostor this season. It's not that he's played badly, but the fact that is tried to avoid any responsibility when playing this season that has really pissed me off.
  22. 8 months out according to the Official Site
  23. Though only Davis has shown any real ability to play wide (on the right) and even he doesn't convince many. Could end up to congested in the middle to allow cohesive attacking football and as is the theme of this thread the big worry is lack of width.
  24. If we played a diamond though there is more onus on the "wide" players to play more centrally and as you say, definitely not convinced about Lafferty playing there. We can get away with him playing wide of a straight midfield 4, but I don't see his game suiting a role in the diamond.
  25. I'm not even sure how we'll line up with a middle four of Fergie, Mendes, Edu and Davis. He may employ the midfield diamond that was mooted prior to Thomson's injury. Though I was never totally happy with having Thomson playing left of the diamond and would be even more concerned forcing Edu out there. Mendes Davis-----------Edu Fergie With the width having to be provided by Broadfoot/Papac. I think Smith would be better off making a hard decision, dropping one or more of the central midfielders, playing a genuine LM and maybe even RM and pick his best team, instead of forcing his best 11 players into a formation they do not suit.
