Didn't Celtic just breeze through another work permit case?

There was an awesome post on FF explaining the tactical reasons behind having everyone back at corners. Not relating to Rangers, just the tactical reasons in general. If I get time i'll try and find it as it woudl be too difficult for me to try and remember it and regurgitate the info. ____________________________________________________________________ Must be an awful lot of amateurish teams out there then?

I questioned your statement because it appeared factually incorrect. Leggo does not say it was not reported but your opening paragraph clearly suggests he did say that. You are every bit as guilty of subterfuge as he is and shouldn't be so defensive about people challenging your opinion on here.

Embarassing how? many teams do this.

Only the guys on the flank nearest the dug out will hear anything the manager says. Messages can be passed through these players or if there is a stoppage in play and someone comes for water. If the manager isn't speaking directly to the majority of the team does it matter if he does it personally or if KMcD does it for Ally, as Ally did for Walter last year?

Rangers 1 v 1 Hearts - The Quest for 55 begins slowly
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Not at all. Just happier with the manager having the best overview of the game possible. -
It isn't always the management though. Famous recent examples being Scott Parker at West Ham this year and the Irish fly hald whose name temporarily escapes me. Hopefully it was Ally. But it may well just be a recurring issue with our team of the last few years where they often dont turn up until we've our backs up against the wall.

How are poor arguments on a message board that different?

Are you now practising your own form subterfuge?

Rangers 1 v 1 Hearts - The Quest for 55 begins slowly

Sam Alardyce was probably the first British manager noted for doing this. Does that mean Walter shouldn't be copying him? Or should our employees just seek to undertake their role to the best of their abilities regardless of who has done it first? -
He doesn't say it wasn't reported he says it was buried in the middle pages.

Lee Wallace will join today: OFFICIAL Wallace signs five year deal
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
To be honest didn't realise he was 6feet plus. Having tall fullbacks can only help imo. -
Not sure there was anything to miss in this case mate.

Just posted something along these lines in the transfer thread. Should maybe move it here. Agree with the OP wholeheartedly though. Post copied below:

Another bear down south asking why we're spending this money but not willing to go another 400k (ish) on Miller. Part of the financial strategy under the new board that rbr amongst others has been praising? Decide our value on a player and refuse to exceed it? Or not spending significant money (for us anything over 500k) on a player who does not have sell on value? It really is hard though to understand our transfer strategy this summer.

Rumour: Murray Davidson to Rangers - £450K fee agreed?
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Low key signings who know the demands of our brand of football, the SPL that is, might not be a bad thing. Sure the signings dont come with a exaggerated reputation due to having a surname ending in "-o" or "-ic" and Celtic and the press may mock our financial muscles, but it is a signing strategy that has served us well in the past 4 years. The players will fit in well to the squad, wont upset the apple cart and will hit the ground running. Supplement with a bit of quality like Jelavic and we could be sitting pretty again. We still need a few more numbers and could definitely do with a bit more quality. Perhaps both quality and quantity are equally important at this stage? Another centre back a midfielder and a decent forward and we wouldn't be far away at all. -
A bit like Whittaker or maybe more Ian Murray then? Where is he likely to be playing? Surely wont be happy just to come and make up the numbers. Will he be competing with Ness and Hutton to play alongside Davis and McCulloch. Will have to give him time in the blue jersey to get a feel for him myself, honestly cant remember how he's performed against us.

Never paid much attention to Davidson. What's his strengths and weaknesses then. Stood out to anyone here when we've played them or does anyone here go to their games if there's not game at Ibrox?

I would suspect Sasa would stay as first choice left back initially. It would be up to Wallace to displace him. -
Can we just get Pete to translate next time Ian?

We have probably one "marquee" player in each area of the field McGregor Bougherra Davis Jelavic The rest of our players can be described as dependable at best. In the context of the SPL our overall first team/squad is the best over the last couple of years but that is perhaps in part due to marquee players taking an average squad above the levels of the rest of the league. Would we have won the league three years in a row if those players were not here and our first XI was something like: Alexander Whittaker Weir Boogie Papac Diouf Edu McCulloch Wylde Lafferty Naismith Doubtful. (The team formation can be argued but the point is just to illustrate how a first XI could look without star names). In writing this I feel actually perhaps Naismith could be included in that first group. However if Jelavic, and to a lesser extent one of the other three named (as our squad stands) were injured or suspended, we look incredibly average in that department of the field. We could cope with one or two of these players missing but it shows how fragile the strength of our first XI is at the minute. To be fair the same pattern is evident across our teams from the past few years but this year more than ever we could do with some real quality additions and not squad fillers.
