  1. There were no outstanding performances over the 90+ minutes. There were a few decent performnaces. I thought Itten tried and held the ball well. Kent was decent at times and Wright was OK. But in terms of moments to remember, it has to be Davis.
  2. I thought we started slowly and came into the game in the first half. I was thinking at half time that Malmo did not threaten us and we would go on to win. Then the moments of madness and we looked that we might lose even more. But we came back into it - whether us being better or Malmo defending what they had, I don't know. Our goal sets up the 2nd leg nicely. If we said beforehand that if we win at home we go through, we'd have been content. I think we will win at home. I hope we win by more than 1 goal. I don't think I could bear penalties.
  3. I was getting a bit concerned watching the friendlies. I know it's all about game time but there seemed a lack of cohesion and lack of goal chances. However, after the Real Madrid game my nerves are settled. SG and his team seem to have paced things perfectly. The play against Real Madrid was great to watch. Attacking with pace. Nice passes. Little flicks. Lundstram skinning Marcelo. Sakala's smile. Looking forward to the season ahead.
  4. Greeks. Romans. 19th century philosophers. Sometimes I think I'm unworthy of being a Gersnetter.
  5. Switzerland 0 - 2 Spain Belgium 1 - 2 Italy Czech Republic 1 - 2 Denmark Ukraine 0 - 3 England
  6. Yes that was pretty annoying. I know the game was not a great watch but the commentator should really concentrate on what is happening on the pitch. I thought Martin Keown was reluctant to join in with the commentator's England talk. On commentators, I prefer the ITV coverage to the BBC. I dont know about the studio talk as I don't tend to watch that but I like Clive Tyldesley, even if he goes off at tangents some time. The stand out has to be Emma Hayes for her tactical analysis during games, something you rarely hear from the co-commentator. It's usually left up to the studio panel to say what has been happening. She tells you what is happening as it happens.
  7. Wales 1 - 2 Denmark Italy 3 - 0 Austria Netherlands 2 - 0 Czech Republic Belgium 3 - 2 Portugal Croatia 1 - 1 Spain France 2 - 0 Switzerland England 1 - 1 Germany Sweden 2 - 1 Ukraine

  9. The pinnacle of my footballing career was playing full back for the lifeboys (now known as junior section of BB). Did not play alongside any greats as far as I know, but I did go to the same school at the same time as Graeme Souness
  10. Finland 1 - 1 Russia Turkey 2 - 1 Wales Italy 3 - 0 Switzerland Ukraine 2 - 0 N. Macedonia Denmark 0 - 2 Belgium Netherlands 2 - 1 Austria Sweden 2 - 0 Slovakia Croatia 2 - 2 Czech Republic England 3 - 0 Scotland Hungary 0 - 2 France Portugal 2 - 2 Germany Spain 3 - 1 Poland
  11. Don't think much of this alphabetical order. If I'd been Aardvark Bear, i'd be a respectable 10th. Instead I'm a lowly 13th. Never mind, as Alan Shearer said yesterday, you don't want to peak too early.
  12. You've missed out the England, Austria and Netherlands games
  13. Turkey 0 - 1 Italy Wales 0 - 2 Switzerland Denmark 1 - 0 Finland Belgium 2 - 1 Russia England 2 - 0 Croatia Austria 0 - 0 N. Macedonia Netherlands 1 - 1 Ukraine Scotland 1 - 1 Czech Republic Poland 1 - 0 Slovakia Spain 1 - 0 Sweden Hungary 0 - 3 Portugal France 3 - 0 Germany
  14. Could be any of a number of players, it's been such an outstanding season. Tavernier has been inspirational. Goldson - Mr Consistency. McGregor - World Class. Davis - effortless. I could go on through the team. But I agree with Cammy, Kent excites and for that he gets my vote
  15. Forget Europe. I'm awaiting my bronze medal. And I will categorically state that I will play no part in any breakaway Super League.
  16. to be fair, it is on the BBC sports page: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/57077097
