  2. Title: Offensive Behaviour in Football and Threatening Communications Bill There will be a dedicated Intelligence Unit set-up whose remit is likely to be to examine forums and deal with anything they deem inappropriate. Until we know the content of the Bill, obviously we can't know how far and what context this will delve into but suffice to say, big brother will be watching even closer than usual.
  3. I want to keep Weir here - he'd be ideal as a coach IMO.
  4. Don't get me wrong - he was a cracking player and I loved him. FWIW, I can't see us affording him anyway. A few Villa fans I've spoken to elsewhere reckon he won't be leaving either.
  5. Indeed. Which is why every Rangers supporter should be writing to the Justice committee MSPs asking that question. I'm hoping to have more info and best practice on this over the next couple of weeks.
  6. Well, the Bill is due to be introduced next Friday before being fast-tracked through the next stages in Parliament for passing in mid-July. Only then will some people realise just how far this sham is going.
  7. I do find it amazing that the forth-coming Sectarianism Bill is limited only to football and the internet. I'm led to believe Christine Grahame MSP will be the convener of the lead committee of the Bill so given she was a keen defender of al-Megrahi and is extremely anti-monarchy, I doubt she'll be overly concerned about a few republican bands anyway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christine_Grahame
  8. Alan Smith also now available on a free...
  9. Yeah, I like the sound of that but would also like some genuine experience there as well.
  10. IIRC the initial judgement on the first-tier tribunal will be due sometime this month. Obviously though either party may appeal that judgement which would delay the actual conclusion by a fair degree. Generally, how long is a piece of string?
  11. Yeah, and I'd fancy they'll have a manager by then while we won't pay hard cash for a guy who hasn't proved his fitness after a serious option. Generally I'd say the Cuellar link is just lazy journalism and is probably inaccurate at this stage. I'd also reckon if we buy/loan from the English market it won't happen until the last hours of the window anyway due to the EPL 25man rule. I'm hoping we'll be doing our business elsewhere for the most part.
  12. I reckon Cuellar would probably be a loan deal as opposed to an outright buy.
  13. Hemed seems as interesting a player as we've been linked with and represents good value/minimal risk on a Bosman. Given Jelavic, Lafferty (and probably Naismith) are arguably our first choice strikers then I'd rather we kept the bulk of the cash we have for a new defender. Seems to have went quiet on Vaughan with Conway brought back into the mix - again for free.
  14. Also doesn't mention that money as being added to the debt where it does other cash. Tax issue is hugely important to our future.
  15. Goodwillie is a decent player but am unsure how well he'd do upon the step-up. For example, Naismith was always a better prospect than him and has taken a while to really find consistency.
  16. I'd rather we went for someone else than Miller. Yes, he just had the season of his life but has now arguably peaked. We need to go for someone younger and hungrier.
  17. Straw clutching IMO from our financially-challenged friends but as ever we just don't know until Whyte et al supply the clarity.
  18. Lafferty had a decent season IMO and just needs to add consistency of performance to show us he's the real deal. When played centrally, there's no doubt the lad is a threat and his form of the last 6 weeks of the season was largely very good.

Given the costs of replacing the screens with seats is exorbitant then I'd have thought it would more possible to install new ones - perhaps sponsored by a suitable company.
  20. Let's hope so mate.
  21. Not all the genuine by the looks of it...
  22. How genuine is his account?
  23. Let's hope the lad makes a full recovery!
  24. The point of 'disciplining' journalists (or their employer) is to stop/reduce the gratuitously negative stuff. I don't think banning them would do that and would actually increase their profile as well. Action short of a ban detailed by BD (I'm sure others could be equally imaginative) would not give them the increased notoriety of an outright ban while removing the same comforts they have now.
  25. That's exactly how I'd approach it.
