With a natural left back in Wallace, it would be daft to then go ahead with playing a player out of position. When a player comes back in after injury there's no way you can legislate or guess whether they're going to slot back in at top form or not.
And another thing - should a player who commits a clear foul to give away a penalty but attempts to persuade the ref not to give it now be held up as someone trying to con a ref?
But surely that isn't Aluko's problem. If anyone should be punished for him successfully conning the ref it should be the ref for making that mistake. Whether he gets away with it during the game or not, his actions are the same, thereafter it's the ref's problem.
Hutton and Ness both looked like players that could develop into key players for the club. Glad Hutton has been getting some first team games, but quite frankly with both Edu and McCulloch, he could and should be competing for a first team place at Ibrox.
Honestly, we pay 'over-the-odds' for players and the club is criticised. We stand firm and a player coughs up and we're criticised. Never gonna please everyone I suppose, but I really don't have a problem with what Aluko did.
