  1. My expectations are limited this year, unless we bring in around half a dozen players. The squad is way too light to compete on 4 competitions. In all honesty, I reckon we'll finish with a cup and that's it, unless there are moves over the next few weeks. Ideally, I would like to see Ness, Hutton, Hemmings and Wylde all become key figures in the first team squad, I want John Fleck to pull his finger out, Lafferty to actually become a striker and to see a bit of flair and excitement on the pitch. Haven't been following pre-season particularly, I know Germany didn't go well, so really don't know anything of Ortiz and how he looks, but I'm hopeful of him.
  2. I'll be happy to get into the CL group stage. Anything beyond Christmas, I'll be delighted with, but honestly, can't see it unless we get a pretty poor team in the CL group we can do over home and away, although I suppose a lot does depend on the luck of the draw. Focus has to be on domestic issues, but financially the CL groups are crucial.
  3. I won't deny he's been a great captain and did have a good end to the season, but has it been forgotten how off the pace he looked for a lot of last season? Especially - but not only - in Europe, he struggled to get to the ball in time and gave away far to many silly, needless free kicks and I can't see his ability to get to the ball ahead of a striker improving over the summer. For times last year, it seemed our whole gameplan was set up around getting Weir in the team and protecting him. As Gisabeer said, he should have bowed out on a high.
  4. The worrying thing is that he has 60,000 in the stadium believing and hanging on every word he utters. Seriously, people I know, who I thought were intelligent have been taken in by him and Lawwell abd that scrote of a lawyer.
  5. Brazil will be sleeping easier tonight ;-)
  6. They can't win with good grace, why would we expect them to show it when they lose? No class at all. WATP!
  7. Everyone was superb, special mention to Lafferty, but I agree with Frankie, :sd: for me.
  8. And will the Ginger scrotum and those who hold his leash go after Craig Thompson in the same way they did Diugie MacDonald for overturning a penalty decision?
  9. I'm guessing he's been banned outright. Came on a week or so ago, posted a few things that were a tad over the top, the posts disappeared and so did he.
  10. Yeah, but with his 9 month appeal process, it'll be a while before it kicks in. Then it'll be reduced to 2 games, probably when he's got the cold so would take the day off anyway.
  11. What exactly did McCoist do to merit any sort of ban? All I saw was him shaking hands, saying something to Lennon - which I'm pretty sure Alan Thompson said was misconstrued - then become the attempted victim of an assault from the Ginger Scrotum.
  12. If he does continue, he seriously runs the risk of ruining any legacy he has at Rangers. This year is a season too far, next year would be a joke. But I agree getting him on the coaching staff would be a good move.
  13. I'm not going to criticise this until there is actually something to criticise. For seasons we've complained of a lack of scouting at the club, it's now been addressed and without any reason other than it's jobs for the boys the move is getting panned. A little bit of optimism wouldn't kill us now and then.
  14. I'll go with the 1-1 as well. I would even take a close defeat, 2-1 or the likes as long as we get an away goal.
  15. And he's a decent wee signing in Football Manager - banging in the goals for my Burton team at the minute.
  16. The thin gis, even if the likes of McGregor, Bougherra and Davis move on, how much of what is brought in will Ally actually have to spend? Not a lot in comparison with the Ginger Scrotum.
  17. Get rid of them, plus Weiss, Bartley, Diouf and Foster all leaving at the end of their loans and Ally with have some rebuild over the summer.
  18. Guys, kinda snowed under with uni and SVQ work. Any chance someone else could take this weekends game and I'll pick up another one. Cheers.
  19. 1-0 to the Rangers. Whittaker again ;-)
  20. What had Souness and Smith achieved in a management role prior to their appointments? Klinsmann took over the German national team for his first job and got them to third place. Inexperience doesn't mean he'll do a bad job.
  21. Souness and Smith both started their managerial careers at Ibrox. And McLeish served his apprenticeship at Hibs and Motherwell and folk looked down on that at the time. For some people, their is no right way to do it.
  22. I don't think you achieve what McCoist has in the game without being able to take things seriously.
