  1. Celtic fans weren't overly impressed with the appointment of the Ginger scrotum especially as he was part of the Mowbray shambles. He's come in, built his team and has won them over. No reason Ally can't step out of Walter's shadow and do the same.

    Davis

Maybe we should call them up for a game or two then.
  3. If Gough was to turn up at Murray Park this week, I would have him in the squad for Sunday. I think the 'Rangers man, leader etc' has to be tempered with having the ability to do the job. I'm not sure what experience Gough has, but I think he was a Livvy for a while and I don't think he showed much of a clue. But then, my memory ain't great so I could be wrong.
  4. I think formations are a moot point at the moment. The lack of form, belief, willing and determination throughout the team are far more glaring concerns than whether to play a terrible two or horrible three in midfield.
  5. Agreed, that's needed, but a good assistant appointment can do that. I think that's missing on and off the field just now. The next captain appointment is going to be important too.

    Davis

One thing stuck with me about Davis from the game. He went in for a tackle, can't remember who against, and the ref blew for a foul against SD. Replay showed it was probably a foul, but could easily have been let go - it wasn't particularly blatant, dangerous or even severe. The camera focused on Davis and he just meandered away, not a peep to anyone and I thought 'Where's your fight?'. That's what stuck with from Sunday.
  7. I don't think so. After today - and the last 8 weeks - the focus has to shift from this season to next.

    Davie Weir

Maybe the differemce is that Weir probably should do something about it, whereas Walter absolutely should be doing something about it.
  9. Zappa, the problem is, going on the last 3 OF games, we haven't looked capable of upping the level to get competitive with them. There seems to be an attitude of defeat around Ibrox and Murray Park whereas their confidence and team spirit is high. It's gonna take a massive swing in momentum to change anything.
  10. Holloway I like, like his whole ethos, but to get him would require money, both for compensation and wages. Given the limited finances we have available, is that money better spent on a new managerial team or on new players?

    Davie Weir

It's Walters responsibility to pick the team. Weir is most definitely match-fit, but his physical attributes have tailed off to the extent that they are not up to the required standard. It's his managers job to recognise and deal with that. Not the employees.

    Davie Weir

He rationalises it with the 'if he stops he'll sieze up' excuse.
  13. Who we would like. Think the thread posted before the poll. I'm quite happy to give McCoist a go, my choice would be Wilkins alongside him.
  14. Possibly, been done before, but had a look back a few pages and couldn't see a poll.
  15. Despite that, Weir was still playing too deep and played Izaguirre onside. Fail all round.
  16. I was thinking that about Lafferty's build against Sporting. The two headers he kind of won, he should've been knocking the defence into next week getting on the end of them.
  17. They are building a decent team over there. Not only that, they are outfighting us everywhere. They have spirit where we have none. The have strength where we have none. They have pace, belief and direction, again where we have none.

    Davie Weir

Weir isn't the first player and nor will he be the last who finds it hard to recocgnise when to call it a day. That's when managers have to step up and make hard decisions about players who have served them well. As mentioned in another thread, this was one of Walters mistakes first time round, sadly he's doing it again.

    Davie Weir

The manager continues to pick him. Weir doesn't pick the team.
  20. Kinda confused how someone who never saw today's game can question a player whose last outing involved scoring three goals. He was poor today, had at least one chance, maybe two where should have done better, but he has looked very good. He's taken his goals very well and fir the most part his touch and movement look very good too.
  21. Texted my mate at halftime basically saying the exact same thing. Same shit, different decade.

    Davie Weir

It's not really Davie's fault, but his legs are gone. It's not just his limitations, but the fact the whole team and their tactics revolve around sitting so damn deep to protect him. Sadly he's become a liability that will end up costing us three trophies if this continues.
  23. I don't think we'll have to worry much about an extended European run and to ve honest, I don't see a Scottish cup run either.
