  1. Must be sarcasm because he's rank rotten. Zero contribution.
  2. Yup, pretty much what that team selection was always going to deliver. We'll do well to get much out of this game.
  3. Just seen today's team selection. Bloody GvB, he never listens. The bench looks more like the team we need than the team does. Another day of Tavernier, Barisic, Lundstram, and Kent ... all players whose current form suggests they should be nowhere near the starting eleven.
  4. I could give you Borna but I'd rather play the Ibrox cat at right back than persist with Tav.
  5. Utterly sick of persisting with players who contribute next to nothing and leaving potential undeveloped on the bench. I'd go with ... Colak Sakala - Tillman - Wright Sands - Davis - Arfield Yilmaz - Davies - King - Divine McGregor
  6. It's hard not to think about what a terrific header of the ball he was and link it to the dreadful battle he had with dementia these last few years. A hell of a price to pay.
  7. I'm not going to go out to bat for GvB but the crisis lies mainly within the playing squad. You can talk all day about how we got here but pragmatism dictates it is what it is and the only issue is where do we go from here. Changing the coaching staff won't necessarily rescue this season but it might sink it altogether. Sacking GvB and keeping the players wont solve what's wrong at Rangers. There are clearly changes necessary among the playing staff and that is primarily the responsibility of Ross Wilson. If players need released or sold or loaned out or replaced then it's his job to get it done, albeit after consultation with the coaches.
  8. Rangers needs investment if it is to achieve financial stability and reach the effective end of its recovery phase. That much is abundantly clear. It's also beyond doubt that 13 years is long enough to know that the investment the club needs is not coming from a massively-wealthy supporter from Govan. Any investment at the level we need is going to come from elsewhere and almost certainly from private equity organisations of one form or another. So here's the deal as I see it. Either accept the status quo and stop whining about the lack of progress ... or open your minds to investment and probable change of controlling ownership from outside the realm of Scottish football. Sure, we're all spooked by the experience of 2012 but I believe what we have today is the best it's going to be unless the club takes financial steps to fuel further improvement. There's clearly risk either way because the current shareholders may not wish to bear this burden forever.
  9. But no one knows why Rangers dropped the lawsuit .... or even why they raised it in the first place.
  10. It would certainly be a reason to keep an open mind until we do know more. We can’t remain spooked forever.
  11. I thought we were talking about this possible investment from the US, not King or Gerrard. I see nothing unusual or offensive about the approach from the US ... or the current board possibly playing hard to get. I also think there are very plausible reasons for limiting spending if you think a major approach is in the offing. And why would we want US investors to go away, without knowing a single thing about the nature of origin of their investment proposal?
  12. What you're saying is our DoF and head coach are extending the contract of a player who they know won't be able to give his best? Despite all the perceived failing around the playing squad, that's a bold assumption and would amount to conscious and deliberate incompetence. For all that I'm dissatisfied with our output, I still find that hard to believe.
  13. For some supporters it seems there's nothing quite like the pleasure of rushing to judgement in the absence of evidence. On the other hand, more considered opinion might recognise the long-standing need to attract meaningful investment into the club and the inevitable corollary that such investment will bring with it new and possibly dominant shareholders.
  14. It's beginning to look like an American majority shareholder is on the cards.
  15. Rangers 3 Livingston 1 FGS - Colak
  16. Such wonderful memories of Jimmy Millar, very saddened to see this news.
  17. For me it was a decision between either of the central defenders and Scott Wright. In the end I voted for Wright. Sands and King largely did well but they spent the vast majority of the match under very little pressure while Wright had the task of trying to make a positive impact against a packed defence and with very little contribution from those around him. Lundstram was dire, Tavernier completely unacceptable and Morelos hopeless shadow of himself.

    GvB future

I think you’re probably right. This mess is down to more than just the manager but it’s Gio’s job to fix it and so far he’s failed to root out the problems.
  19. I keep reading allusions to Tav’s fitness. Have considered the possibility his only problem is inside his head. Regardless, I’d be appointing a new captain in the morning.
  20. The opportunity is there for the manager to make significant improvements but this seems to go deeper than just selections and tactics.
  21. It’s hard to see it any other way. When good pro’s down tools it soon spreads throughout the squad.
  22. I know football doesn’t deliver to order but this can’t go on.
