I don't quite see where SD comes into this.

The Summer 2022 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
Bill replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I think we know far too little about the club's current finances or forward plans to reach conclusions about how much can be spent. -

Completely meaningless at this point. -
Too many people have a propensity for a) jumping to the wrong conclusions and b) agreeing with their mates

As good as he has certainly been, I will be disappointed if McGregor re-appears as first choice keeper next season. -
Nevertheless, you did get it completely wrong. Like many others it seems.

Who knows how much money we've "taken in" from the sale of Patterson or the compensation for Gerrard? These might well be staged payments and while the guarantee of future cash may help borrowing, it does little to pay bills today. Nor do we know the scheduling of current commitments for previous recruitment. Also, it would be useful to know how much of the EL earnings have been allocated to bonuses. I imaging we're much more financially secure than we were but are still essentially playing catchup. We'll never get ahead of the game if we immediately spend any operating surplus we achieve .... which is why Ive been saying for a while now that we still have several years to go before we can consider the rebuilding of Rangers to be complete.

Gersnet Player of the Year 2021/22 | James Tavernier

Opinion is a quick setting cement for some people. Once formed, no amount of fresh evidence can change it. -

If you say so -
Those comments only raised him up in my eyes. He spoke the truth when so many just offered the usual coached platitudes and the fact he felt compelled to speak up at all spoke volumes for his character. Like so many before him, Goldson has suffered far too much from the predictable willingness of certain fans to create and hang on to their favourite scapegoat. Is he perfect, will the offers from Europe's top clubs come rolling in? No, but his value and importance to Rangers at this time is surely beyond question for anyone with eyes to see.

Win together, lose together. We play as a team, continuing to blame the EL final on one player is so disappointing. -

I think winning individual MOTM votes has very little to do with selecting a POTY. Two different things altogether ... you could run away with POTY without ever winning a singe MOTM vote. PS - thanks for doing the analysis. -
Sadly its everywhere.

Well that's clearly an empty argument, given the number of people buying and buying again. Rangers merchandise has been appalling quality for many years, basically cheap tat. If anything, Castore has brought a considerable improvement in that respect, reflected in how many clothing items are now sold. As for fit, it's generally the buyer's responsibility to order the correct size. As I've said time and again, no one is forced to buy.
-
At risk of being pedantic, it's always best to use language that expresses what you actually mean. He didn't say amateurish. He described Castore as amateurs, which they're clearly not.
-
The point of these sponsorships is to make money for the club and the manufacturer and it seems to me Castore have been anything but amateur in that respect. What our fashionistas and negativity-addicts think of particular products is largely irrelevant and certainly unimportant. No one is forced to buy but clearly plenty do.
-
Oh really? Isn't it possible to be gay and keep it to yourself then? "Look at me, I'm special."
-
Being an amateur isn’t an opinion.
-
Whatever anyone’s opinion of Connor Goldson, the deed is now done, the decision taken and set in stone. Whether celebrating or dejected at the prospect, it would surely be in all our interests to get fully behind the player and embrace his commitment to Rangers.
-
That makes sense and explains why he could have been so reluctant to announce a decision either way.
-
In no way does that make them “amateurs”.
