I think it's far more likely that no one can answer your question. How do you guess, for example, forward debt policy or what the board has decided on cash reserves or provision for capital expenditure or bonuses & dividend or depreciation or a host of other things. We can't know the crucial fine-print terms of the payment schedule in player contracts and its impact on cash flow. The yahoos will always invent their own facts to cover up their fear that Rangers might be successful. They wear Sevco like a security blanket and cling to our previous financial woes like a religious icon. Sad bastarts.

But but but where is bankrupt Sevco getting this money from? -

I'm still not clear what the Aribo deal is. It sounds like £6m paid in 3 annual tranches, with adding that take it up towards £10m in total. If that's the case, it will have only a small impact on next season's cash flow. Or have I got that wrong? -

I guess that would surprise no one. What did he cost us? -
Then let's just arbitrarily agree it was 28 goals. Can't see a problem there.

I reckon we have one decent transfer fee in us, more if we sell Bassey.. They appear to want a minimum of £6m. No idea if this is who we need but midfield is becoming the place to spend money on - Jack's injuries, Davis' age, Aribo gone, Arfield's age, Kamara's inconsistency. -
OK, I'll bite. How many did he score.

For as long as players like Jack or Roofe or Helander are still at Rangers, it's important they are not pilloried by the support for being injured. They wouldn't choose to be injured and all of them will play their part this season, just probably not as often as we would like. Kemar Roofe will still score vital goals and win key matches. Ryan Jack will still be the best midfield talent at the club. -

I really thought we had left behind the days of "the higher the price, the better the deal". Seems to me there are never any guarantees, regardless of the size of the transfer fee. What we are showing now is an ability to be both prudent and smart ... Jack, Kamara, Aribo, Bassey, Lundstram, etc. In large measure, football is a business run by third rate chancers and players' careers are often dependent on luck rather than judgement. I think there are plenty of John Lundstrams out there, with the ability to have gone much further if judged more diligently. The directors of Rangers have shown they understand this and refuse to get suckered into a big spend mentality. -

I don't think anyone believes the BBC will be changing its spots any time soon, with or without Kenny McIntyre

Except for those of us who have a 3 hour drive to the game and a 3 hour drive back home afterwards. Not to mention the 45 minute wait to get out of the fûcking car park.

Purely in the interests of broadening the choice, the best goalkeeping performance I ever witnessed took place at Pittodrie in an obscure midweek game in early 1993 that I'm sure no one else will remember. How we won the game 1-0 instead of being thrashed 7-0 remains a mystery. Aberdeen absolutely hammered us for 90 minutes, stopped only by Andy Goram pulling off one impossible save after another. It got to the stage where everyone there that night knew they'd be as well going home because there was no way he could be beaten. I've never seen anything remotely like it before or since.

The least bit of transfer action at Rangers always propels the shitsniffers into a tailspin. It's good to be reminded again and again how fortunate we are not to be one of them. -

It does look like FF is a kind of clearing house for gossip. I've thought about taking a look at it one of these days but if everything filters down to Gersnet anyway, what's the point. What does FF say about Johnson's successor? -

To be honest, it makes absolutely no difference what you and I think. I prefer to take a positive view of Wilson's track record and obvious abilities. Compare if you will with the likes of Martin Bain, who was a genuine incompetent. -

To some extent, knowing the details is unimportant. As the prophet once said, it is what it is. No amount of knowledge on our part will change anything. I'm fairly confident that Ross Wilson will have got the best deal possible. -

Ten million for Aribo is great business. He made some worthy contributions during his time at Rangers but was no world beater and is far from irreplaceable.
