  1. What do you think a contract looks like that's both more lucrative and achievable ?
  2. Seems to me to be the most honest approach.
  3. And if you were a professional footballer it would also be 'just a job'.
  4. A word of caution that many new and expensive players have joined Rangers in the summer, only to flop when competitive games came along. Better players should improve the team but new players guarantee nothing in themselves. What's important is what we do with the players on our books, new or old.
  5. If another employer offer you a job and five times your current salary, would you regret accepting it?
  6. Andy was a truly great goalkeeper, at times he seemed to perform miracles. But far more important is that he was cherished by the entire Rangers family while he was alive and his memory will be honoured by them for many years after his passing. Those of us who watched his play or knew him as a person were privileged indeed. Let's remember that.
  7. ..... or Brexit ..... or Zelensky’s nazis ..... or Dick Campbell’s tattoo ....
  8. There certainly seems to have been some kind of sea change in recruitment policy.
  9. That's right, it isn't. What do you think it is about then?
  10. Sorry, I meant of course "for minors" 😉
  11. See, this is where these transfer threads always lose any appeal for me, when dire warnings are issued to Ross Wilson and his team that they need to give themselves a shake and get on with business. As if this experience director, a man who spends his life wrestling with the problems of player recruitment and squad management, has been asleep at the wheel or is somehow blind to the difficulties we face. And all he required was for some font of wisdom on a minor fans forum to point out the error of his ways. I can't make up my mind if this is simply absurd or if there are people here who actually believe they have a more profound grasp of player trading than Ross Wilson.
  12. Personally, I'd rather the Rangers Charity Foundation focussed its activities in support of Erskine and other armed forces charities.
  13. Where does this debacle stand now? Are there legal issues still to be resolved? Who's taken our place?
  14. There was a time, long ago I think, when people would judge a transfer window when it closed and sometimes only at the end of the following season. It's not clear to me when a transfer window started to be judged in the first two weeks of it opening but it's certainly a gambler's perspective. For my part, call me a traditionalist if you must, old fashioned even, butI think I'll wait and see
  15. When it comes off, they’re geniuses. When it doesn’t, they’re bloody useless. But I suppose the truth is that clubs are never fully in charge of who signs and who doesn’t. Wilson can identify all the targets in the world but bringing them to Ibrox is the challenge.
  16. "Bright colours are encouraged" Davie would have liked that.
  17. Me too but, like all transfer windows, Rangers only controls a fraction of any deal it tries to make. I imagine some go through without a hitch while other can become a nightmare to complete.
  18. On the face of it your point seems reasonable but it's important to challenge their bs wherever you find it.
  19. Another weekend when the papers show they have no idea what's going on with Rangers transfer activity. Delicious.
