I wonder what the odds were when we were drawn against Fiorentina in 2008 or against Bayern Munich in 1972

It’s a good thing for Dyche. I’ve always thought of Burnley as a proper football club but it probably fits the Championship better than the EPL. Dyche will have no problem finding a new club.

I don’t think I’ve ever commented on what they stand for, other than to express surprise at some people claiming their only purpose was to accumulate share for the sole objective of … well, accumulating shares. What I do dislike are their methods and complete lack of any achievable benefit to Rangers. I understand how hard it is to accept you’ve been funding something for no good reason but Club1872 is increasingly an irrelevance, sucking money out of fans’ pockets for no conceivable outcome.

Shares of thousands of companies are issued and traded every day, all across the world. Transactions range from vast sums of money to an individual buying a few penny shares. There is a system for this and it works perfectly well without the equivalent of a Club1872 intervening between buyer and seller. There is absolutely no need for these grandiose intermediaries. Surely there could be no purer expression of fan ownership than fans actually owning shares and having their own voice. Club1872 is only relevant when people feel they need someone else to tell them what to do and that is never a healthy option - as we can clearly see today.

I thought it was always the score after 90 minutes that counted. -

Yes, strange two to take off when you’ve ten minutes to hang on. -

Every time we achieve something like this I can’t help thinking back to Peterhead, Montrose, etc. Look how far we’ve come. -

When was the last time you suffered such torture against nine men. Talk about making a meal of it. Nerves shredded, away to lie in silence in a darkened room for an hour. So proud of Rangers. -

Hell of a gamble playing Bassey out of position and leaving Balogun's pace on the bench. It's going to be hard watching Barisic passing backwards for 90 minutes. -

I feel we're going to need a high energy performance tonight and Kamara would slow down play too much, as he always seems to. I'd have no issue with Davis but the truth is Lundstram is currently up to speed and Davis isn't - in such an important game I'm not sure Davis is a gamble you would want to take if you didn't have to. -

I think that side probably chooses itself. -
It's flattering that you think I could fork out a million quid to buy shares but anyone can set aside the same amount they currently give to Club1872 and use it to buy shares themselves whenever a new issue comes along. As I have done on several occasions over the years.

For a club from a pisspot league on the edge of Europe, we have a habit of punching above our weight every now and then. Predictions are cheap but it wouldn't raise too many eyebrows if Rangers went through tonight. -
it’s intriguing to see the sole purpose of Club1872 finally revealed as ‘to purchase Rangers shares’. I wonder how many would still be donating money if they knew Club1872 existed only to serve its own agenda. Which of course it does.

Isn’t that what share issues are supposed to be for? I’ve always favoured individual supporters buying shares in their own name with their own money … and voting as they choose at an AGM. There has never actually been any need for an intermediary like Club1872. Fans owning shares IS fan ownership, Club1872 is just bollocks and froth to give certain people a sense of self-importance.

Lundstram and Jack are essential in this game. I'd prefer Bassey at fullback and Balogun in the middle but who knows? For the first time in ages I'm enthusiastic about Aribo starting. I think this could be a game for 4-4-2 -
Since the decision who to sell his shares to rests entirely with Dave King, are you saying that he would knowingly sell his shares to someone he didn't know had the best interests of the club at heart. Whatever anyone thinks of him, I don't believe he would.

Isn't that what I said? I thought it was.

Assuming this isn’t just an alternative to collecting stamps, surely there was a purpose to it.

Rangers 2 - 1 Braga after 90 minutes FGS Roofe -
I thought they were set up to further the best interests of Rangers. Their method was to buy shares in pursuit of maximising fan ownership but their shareholding is being progressively diluted and their influence at the club is non-existent. They've achieved nothing, they have no influence, no seat at the table and appear to be at war with the club they purport to protect. The entire venture is a failure, shamefully conducted with other people's money and in breach of the goodwill that's allowed them to play this silly game.

I agree it's likely the league is lost but a lifetime's observation has taught me never to under-estimate Celtic's capacity to shoot themselves in the foot.

Ouch! Sixteen seems a strange age to increase the price. Not many sixteen year olds are working and able to fund a full price ticket, which presumably is the underlying assumption.

Roofe has to be the obvious choice. I thought the second half offered several points of optimism, especially Aribo's return to form - I don't know what they put in his tea at half time but it was like someone had thrown a switch and suddenly Joe was back. Fashion Jr and Borna Barisic were also effective in the second half although Borna still slows the game far too much with his eternal passing backwards. Scott Wright (who) showed pace, directness and tempo that had been sadly lacking in the first half and Leon King did easily as good a job as the international centre back he replaced. My vote goes to Joe Aribo.
