  1. That's about £18m. Time to bite their hand off .... unless there are other parties quietly in the game, which wouldn't altogether surprise me.
  2. If he's a fraction of Ralph Brand he'll be very special indeed.
  3. I'm not sure anyone actually has the full picture on Morelos so it might be worth keeping powder dry until either he or the manager makes a clarifying statement.
  4. I don't think this issue is whether or not Morelos is leaving .... it's about realising the maximum price, which we won't do if he spends an extended period on the sidelines
  5. Roofe should be an excellent signing. What he should also do is provide space to get Alfredo's head back on and back playing the football we know he's capable of.
  6. Yes but that's an entirely spurious argument since I don't see anyone claiming the absence of a release clause. If you're going to assert there IS a release clause then you need to be able to substantiate it. But you can't so it's just rumour and gossip. No?
  7. What I take from this is the profound change in Rangers' approach to player trading. I take heart from the fact there appears to be an intent to maximise any deal in our own favour - a major change from the shambles we've watched for many years. Very few players are willing to commit to a club like Rangers. In almost 60 years as a supporter I've seen many good players come and go. Kent will be no different. If he leaves, someone will take his place. The only thing I expect is that any deal is done in the interests of Rangers.
  8. So far, there’s been no evidence at all of any release clause.
  9. I'll believe there's a release clause when someone who is in a position to know comes out and says "there's a release clause in Kent's contract". Until then it's just Santa Claus.
  10. On the money. For me the RTV match presentation and analysis is superior to anything on Sky or BT. What an improvement from last season.
  11. I have to keep asking what this is all about and I remind myself it isn't necessarily who scored the best goal, made the best pass or save the best strike by the opposition. It has to be the player who, overall, made the most telling contribution to the team performance, not his own. Which is why I decided my MOTM this week had to be Ryan Jack. Otherwise, there were no real failures in a much more positive team than we saw last week. Most telling was the speed with which the ball was moved forward by Davis and Jack.
  12. Excellent start but Jack. It’s been a while since we saw this from him.
  13. Looks like the latest non-story. Moving swiftly along
  14. I've always believed that one of the defining characteristics of Celtic and its adherents is an ability to create fact out of fiction. Their willingness to believe what is clearly fiction and turn it into established truth would make a blind alchemist blush. If someone says they've sold 50,000 season tickets then the expediency of wanting it to be true will immediately make it "true". The Celtic world is a world of entirely flexible reality, where 50,000 season tickets is whatever you want it to be.
  15. That's unacceptable and Castore need to explain to the support what's actually going on.
  16. Don't fret. I never actually gave you a moment's thought.
  17. As with every other game over the last year, I'll sit down to watch the game tomorrow hoping to see Tavernier deliver something like his form of the season before last. He was such a big part of our (albeit limited) success and to have that same contribution back today would be a major boost. However, I now suspect the player who slotted home penalties for fun and rampaged through defences has lost his mojo and it may be gone for good. In that deflated context he remains a very inappropriate choice of captain.
  18. Neither can I but Ryan Kent has had an irrational army of detractors ever since his price was announced. Kent has been one of the few Rangers players this season who has shown good energy and been prepared to try something other than a safe square pass. Right now, other than Joe Aribo, Kent is about the only source of invention or direct play we have and is one player we really can't afford to be selling. I'd sell Morelos before I'd sell Kent.
  19. Rangers 4 - 0 Kilmarnock FGS Itten
  20. They claim to have sold 50,000 season tickets
  21. Except Josh, who can have the shirt of his choice at any time.
  22. A ridiculous bit of posturing that we can be sure will be reversed at the first inevitable spike in associated new cases.
  23. Experienced observers of the Scottish press will already have judged the Kent rumour to be very likely just the latest attempt to destabilise a Rangers player. It's as transparent as it's incessant.
