  1. I think we have to credit the man management skills of our coaching staff for that transformation.
  2. The people who built the Channel tunnel seemed to think so. ?
  3. Worst experience in a supporters but was back in the early 1970s when, for some reason, both Rangers and Celtic were playing European ties at home. Travelling through Shotts on the way north, most of our windows and a few heads were broken by a hail of red bricks from green-clad animals. It was a long, cold drive home.
  4. Lowering the pitch on it's own surely couldn't produce 6000 additional seats but if you raised the rear seats in the lower tier and sloped the lower tier more steeply you could probably do it - and without altering anyone's view or requiring anything more exotic than new earthworks and a new concrete base for the seating. The hospitality viewing in the Sandy Jardine stand might need to be sacrificed.
  5. I think this would have to include changing (steepening) the slope of the existing lower tiers around the pitch
  6. It's the SNP. They stunt everything in their path.
  7. Bugger that. Just you keep on posting these links. I'm a lazy bastard and would miss half these things if someone didn't provide an easy link. I also don't give a shit if the titles are misleading ?
  8. Come on BoJo, make the BBC self-funding. Give them five years to prepare, then bring the licence fee to an end and let the bastards find an audience that will pay for their bullshit.
  9. Posting it twice also allowed me (at least) to see something I'd previously missed. There's no downside.
  10. "appetite ... for Scottish football" So where was that "appetite" when Rangers were cast into the lower leagues? No one gives a shit about Scottish football, they're watching now because Rangers are back, no other reason.
  11. I think that conclusion is starting to dawn on a lot of supporters now. The changes made in the summer of 2018 are turning out to be more profound than we realised at the time.
  12. Not as laughable as Scott Brown’s recent performances against Rangers.
  13. Well that makes good reading.
  14. I don't know about anyone else but my heart swells with pride when I read about this work. There's something very special about the respect it takes to care for someone else's legacy.
  15. ? Couldn't agree more. Seems it has taken near-disaster to shake some of the cobwebs from our club.
  16. I watched the occasional Zamalek game when I lived in Cairo in the early 1980's. They used to play at a small stadium on an island in the Nile but I think they have new stadium elsewhere now. I never attended one but I heard the derby games against Al Ahly were a sight to see. Have we ever had an Egyptian player before?
  17. Perhaps he’s not playing in this league
  18. Johnston might mean well but he clearly doesn't understand life in Scotland as a Rangers supporter. Hopefully he won't be repeating comments like these.
  19. Can you see clubs like Hamilton or St Johnstone or Ross County volunteering to pay for VAR? You can hear them now ... "if Rangers and Celtic want VAR, let them pay for it". Neither the SFA nor the SPFL has any money so, unless UEFA is prepared to subsidise the introduction of VAR into member Associations, I think it's likely the VAR issue will only confirm Scotland's place in UEFA's second tier for backward nations.
  20. I'd be interested to see the number of votes per player, rather than just the number of MOTM awards
  21. Fortunately everyone is still free to hold personal opinions and to make their own choices. That said, perhaps the way to achieve the active participation of more fans is for Club1872 to broaden its role as an organisation and to recognise that a wider membership requires that it serves the aspirations of a wider audience.
