Keith Jackson - D Day At Rangers This Week
chilledbear replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
They found out he was a member of the RST? -
Because if Scottish football really is to be fixed, then first Rangers will have to fix themselves. And the coming days may well determine if that is possible or not. A full-scale bloodbath was narrowly avoided in the boardroom on Friday when an emergency meeting of this clubâ??s warring directors was aborted in curious circumstances, at the very last minute. On the agenda was the removal of chairman Malcolm Murray, which has been coming for some time, but there may have been other casualties including non-exec director Phil Cartmell. And had Murray and Cartmell been axed then former manager Walter Smith would most probably have resigned in protest and followed them down the marble staircase. That would have opened up positions for bus brother James Easdale and also Chris Morgan of Blue Pitch Holdings to fill. And crucially it may also have left a seat at the table for Charles Green, the former chief executive, who might just be planning to make a surprise return to power following his own resignation last month. Green has been gone since April 19 but, oddly, without ever going away. He has remained on the board and in and around the political murkiness which has done so much to discredit this club and cause it disgrace. And he will be there in the centre of it all again this week when Fridayâ??s deferred butchery begins for real. Yes, this coming Wednesday is taking on the shape of a genuine D-Day for Rangers as if Murray, Cartmell and Smith are all ousted then the club could be placed firmly back in the grip of Greenâ??s big Yorkshire hands and, if that is the case, it is difficult to imagine any less turbulent times ahead. The timing is crucial of course, as Green is scheduled to stand down from his directorial position at the end of this month, which of course falls on Friday. If Green does not get his way before then, then perhaps he will move on and so too can this fractured club. Maybe then the cleansing, which Ally McCoist spoke of, can begin. All of which points to one almighty and ferocious final battle for the heart and soul of Rangers. But the winners and losers will not be confined to the Ibrox boardroom or even to within the ranks of the clubâ??s weary supporters. The outcome of this latest Rangers trauma will impact on all of Scottish football. Just as it did last summer. Soon we will all know if there are better times ahead for our game. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/keith-jackson-howitzer-weekend-provides-1915007?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter At the end of the Article.

Jon Daly, Cammy Bell and Nicky Law - are you happy?
chilledbear replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
''For the time being, I for one assume that it is, else we would not sign players left, right, and centre.'' I think Managers will sign who they can, and unless someone with balls says no, they [Ally] will not take what we can afford into consideration. Hope I am wrong in this, but going by the past I don't think so. -
Jon Daly, Cammy Bell and Nicky Law - are you happy?
chilledbear replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Wouldn't argue with Law and Bell, good at a decent age, but would like to hear about us looking at defenders sooner rather than later. I sometimes feel we sign players just because they are available, rather than players who would fit into a preferred formation. -
Rangers board to decide Malcolm Murrayâ??s fate
chilledbear replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
According to McLaughlan on twitter, MM is still Chairman. -
Well done, more power to your elbow.
-
Don't think he has signed yet.
-
Because he is not a centre half. Surely we have had enough of playing players out of position.
-
Welcome, but have my doubts. If we can afford to sign players it should be in defence. Hope the lad is not destined for a defensive role.

How can we afford these signings? SPL players are not signing for peanuts. -
That's been my thinking, don't see it solving many problems.

For those who haven't noticed the news feed from up the page. RANGERS will send their most experienced squad yet to this year’s Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tomorrow when the squad flies out from Glasgow. Of the 10 players representing the Light Blues at the 2013 event, six of them have been in the first-team squad to some extent this season. Robbie Crawford and Fraser Aird are the most prominent players, having made more than 40 appearances between them for Ally McCoist’s side in the recently-finished campaign. Luca Gasparotto, who started the final game against Berwick and made three substitute appearances last month, will also be involved. On top of that, Andy Murdoch, Tom Walsh and goalkeeper Liam Kelly – who was on the bench against the Shielfield Park outfit – will travel to Asia. Kyle McAusland comes back into the fold following his loan spell in the Second Division with Ayr as does Calum Gallagher, who spent four months temporarily at Alloa. Completing the 10-man pool being overseen by first-team coach Ian Durrant are reserve regulars Charlie Telfer and Jamie Burrows. Gers have been regular participants in the Hong Kong tournament and were losing finalists in 2009 and 2010. This year they’ll hope to go one better against a mixture of top European academy sides and local senior teams in the seven-a-side competition. Durrant’s squad starts its sectional campaign on Saturday morning against Hong Kong Football Club and has further fixtures against HKFA Dragons and South China. If they finish among the top two teams in Group C they’ll progress to the quarter-finals of the Citibank International Cup event on Sunday. If they don’t, Rangers will drop into Plate matches instead and if they get to the last eight of the Cup but then lose at that stage they’ll compete for the Shield. Whatever happens, a minimum of four matches will be played with three coming on Saturday then one, two or three following the next day. In addition to the main competition, there is also a Masters Tournament which a team of former Ibrox favourites will be taking part in. Playing under the name Rangers All Stars, the squad is set to include the likes of Andy Goram, Arthur Numan, Alex Rae, Jorg Albertz and Michael Mols. This year’s Soccer Sevens coincides with the Oceania Rangers Supporters Association convention, which is also being held in Hong Kong this year. Supporters from all over the region will fly in to not only support the Light Blues teams which are playing but to also take part in a series of other events. For more information about the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens including the rules and other competing teams, visit their official website by clicking HERE now.

About Chris Graham [Fury], I was on RM when they found out he was a RST member. ''Even the articulate, highly respected and extremely effective, Chris Graham has come in for significant criticism of late, following the publication on The Rangers Standard, of the article “Exclusive: Ibrox Leak” that criticised Imran Ahmad’s alleged boardroom leaks to the press.'' That is when their attitude to him changed.

The sixty-four-thousand-dollar question
chilledbear replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Perhaps an owner who leaves the running of the football club to a strong CEO, instead of treating it as a plaything. -
Among all the idiots around our Club, you have to feel for Murray. To have this put into the public arena must be horrible.
-
Urquhart was strange, thought he was supposed to be a promising lad?

I said to look at post 8, it should have been post 18. I posted this yesterday morning before you got a bee in your bonnet. ''It's very difficult, in an ideal world I would want him out. I also don't want the Chairman of Rangers being seen in this state. Whether I would vote against him in the present circumstances is another thing, tho' I can see why investors would be wary.'' As you see I did not say I wanted him out at this time, everything is not black and white.

http://t.co/ToxRdOyJr3 - Read more. By Keith Jackson Rangers' director Brian Stockbridge accused of dirty tricks as video of drunken chairman Malcolm Murray leaked on internet 21 May 2013 07:43 THE battle for control of the Ibrox club hits a new low with the release of a video of the chairman staggering out of a restaurant. RANGERS chairman Malcolm Murray last night insisted he had been stitched up after a video of him drunk was leaked on the internet. The battle for control of Rangers hit a new low as the doctored recording of a clearly inebriated Murray being helped out of a restaurant was posted on the YouTube website at breakfast time yesterday. The voices of two people laughing and goading Murray from behind the camera were distorted beyond recognition. But the Record later obtained the original, unaltered footage and immediately identified one of the voices as that of Ibrox financial director Brian Stockbridge. The club were forced to admit that Stockbridge â?? who came to Ibrox as part of former chief executive Charles Greenâ??s takeover â?? was the man who made the tape.
