I for one don't want them to fail, they just haven't started very well. They would probably be surprised if there wasn't some criticism, the way things have gone. Then there are the fans who would never be happy, just moaning barstewards.

As I said, we play youngsters when forced, instead of introducing them in better circumstances. Cole and Hutton in Champion League games, Little in an Old Firm game. I find the Ibrox crowd give young lads a fair crack when they first arrive, tho' playing them out of position or when they lose a bit of form, Adam and Fleck comes to mind, certainly doesn't help. No it's no use being misty eyed, although remembering DJ beating McNeil to score the winner at Hampden, makes you want to see youngsters succeed.

As an aside Hutton in Malmo game. We are up 2-0 against Saints on the Saturday and he doesn't put him on, and then flings him on in a European game !!!!

I understand what you are saying, but we are competing in the SPL. Obviously not packing the team with untried yunks, we have 3/4 who have played in the first team, plus the likes of Whittaker, Papac, Ortiz etc. But waiting until injuries force you to introduce a youngster is imo the wrong way to go. Remember those introduced las season, Ness, Hutton, Wylde even D. Wilson was forced on management by injury and lack of depth in the squad.

If we can get a couple of decent signings, the centre half and a left mid. I would withdraw from the transfer market and go with the youngsters. A good spine and give the youths a chance.

There has been speculation our Goodwillie strategy was more talk than action. Whether true or not, I couldn't say.

Whatever way you look at it, there must be a better way to do things, whether we lose out on targets or not. It looks shoddy and amateurish, and does nothing for Whyte or McCoist.

Whyte said from the first offer Goodwillie wasn't worth �£2m, now if this was advice from our manager, then I can live with that. If it was just a money decision, and went against the football advice, we may have problems. Ians post about Verhoek if true, does not bode well, and could well be another decision by the money men, over the football side. Hope I am wrong with this thinking, I am all for living within our means, but we have to keep the quality in the squad, as well as numbers.

Come on mate, is Ally the money man, or Smith. It could be the same whoever the manager, blame Whyte if you want, but give the Manager our support until he has had a proper chance.

He isn't a striker for me, better coming with late runs. Missing chances, but not afraid to get in the positions where he will get the chance. Still plenty of faith in the boy, one of our best players.

Would like to see the likes of Hutton, Hemmings etc. have games against some serious opposition, eg. EPL Youth or Reserve Teams. Do you know of any in the pipeline.
