  1. What other Country would have Football pundits influencing Legislation. The more independence we have, the more it shows up the second rate politicians we have.
  2. They'll still not believe it. In complete denial over Rangers, all they want is our demise.
  3. From the Yorkshire Post this morning, looks like it will be done soon. Manager Danny Wilson has two players ready to fill the vacuum up front created by Slew’s departure with the planned arrival of Rangers duo Kyle Hutton and John Fleck, both 20. Able to play either as strikers or attacking midfielders, they will join Sheffield United on season-long loans
  4. It will not help Hutton to sit on the bench. The only difference between our youngsters, and the likes of Goodwillie, Dorrans, McCarthy etc. is that they were playing every week.
  5. Economical with the truth, I think is the phrase. I am all for living within our means, what I don't need is sugar coating. That's not just Whyte, but goes for the Management as well.
  6. The player(s) being talked about, not sure they would do us much good anyway. Be as well trusting in some youth players, as 30+ year olds, on 3 year contracts. Though a decent loan player from the Premiership would be nice.
  7. Don't think we could promise him regular first team football anyway.
  8. Feel free to share if you can. As I have said in other threads, there seems to be a complete lack of professionalism throughout the Club. Do you have any understanding of Gordon Smiths remit, as far as the youth set-up goes?
  9. That is the problem with change. Does Ally have the time to experiment, and still win the SPL?
  10. The under-19s seem to be getting progressively worse. Is that a fair comment?
  11. I can't think of a decent team who still plays 4-4-2, correct me if I am wrong. We won the League playing this formation, but we just don't get away with it in Europe. We had our successes in Europe with Walter playing 4-5-1, tho' he came under a lot of criticism for defensive football. Not that long ago, good results against Barcelona and Manchester United, yet all of a sudden Scottish Football is in crisis according to the same people who slagged Rangers for playing negative football. I wondered when we were 'bidding' for Goodwillie, if Ally had a fluid 4-3-3/4-5-1 in mind, with Naismith and Goodwillie on either side of Jelavic. Is he now forced into playing 2 strikers, or can one of the new signings take Goodwillies place. Can we keep playing 4-4-2 every week in the SPL and still expect to do reasonably well in Europe?
  12. Does anyone know what goes on at Murray Park? What are the hours the players put in, are they finished after 2/3 hours or do they stay on after lunch, do they actually eat there? I thought last year, it would have been an ideal opportunity for Ally to visit Clubs in Europe, look at how they train, coach, teach technique etc. before settling into the job this season. But we seem to have closed minds, the last time I can remember football people doing this was Waddell and Stein back in the sixties. Fundamental change must come to the Scottish game from getting rid of 10 team leagues to a change in coaching mentality. But who is going to push things through.
  13. Speirs on twitter.... Maribor say it was blown out of proportion, they are quite happy with UEFAs decision.
  14. I think his form is good when played up front, and genarally has been since the start. It would be interesting to know his strike rate, for games where he started as a striker.
  15. Kick rhecord out of ibrox
  16. From Timmy site FAO: UEFA MARIBOR v RANGERS – 18/8/2011 Please see copied below the mail sent by me today to the Slovenian Embassy in London regarding the fielding of an ineligible player in the above match. I trust UEFA will take this matter seriously and act accordingly. Yours truly FAO: The Cultural AttachÃ?© Dear Sir or Madam I think it appropriate to draw the following fact to your attention. When Maribor FC of Slovenia played Rangers on Thursday last the Scottish club fielded an ineligible player. The US citizen Bocanegra was signed just before the match, but he does not have the necessary visa to play for the club in the UK. This should have rendered him ineligible for the match but he was included in the side anyway by the Rangers' management team, and played in the game. Despite being a proud citizen of Scotland I am also an upholder of the Corinthian spirit, and a fierce defender of the rules of fair play. As such I feel strongly that this flagrant breach of UEFA rules should be brought to the attention of the Maribor club and to UEFA. This should certainly result in the tie being awarded to the Slovenians. I remain Yours faithfully
  17. If I had the prospect of a Tax Bill looming, prudence would be the watch word. I don't think Whyte has the funds to finance a large transfer budget, most of the money we spend will have to be financed by Rangers, in one way or another. I like the thought of paying £3/£4/£5m for players, but after the last regime and the state we have found ourselves in, I am quite happy with the way we are going in the transfer market. I would like to say I am happy with those we have brought in, but have to admit they are mostly a mystery to me. I am more concerned with the personnel on the management and Boardroom side, I just wish Whytes first signing had been someone who would have brought more professionalism to the workings within the Club. These last thoughts are only my feelings, I have no direct evidence.
  18. I still want Ally to succeed, but I have to admit I am getting worried. Was his Assistant on at him about Subs last night, surely someone must have been thinking Substitutes.
  19. Starting the season early, then allowing teams to play a Friendly instead of a SPL game, was to put it nicely, idiotic.
  20. Lewis and Harris RSC have a Club in Stornoway. Information curtesy of Rangers Monthly Mag.
  21. Any ideas why they would go about it in this way?
  22. Out of Court Settlement? For the good of the Club, I hope so.
  23. In the ET today, anybody able to see the full article? http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/editor-s-picks/rangers-blast-back-at-kenny-miller-and-madjid-bougherra-contract-slurs-1.1116796
