Something on SSN about a meeting on Tuesday. Sky Sources say it's with Murray in Edinburgh.
-
The fans have a bigger say at the moment than anyone, or they had, until thousands bought their ST. It always comes back to the same thing, someone able to draw the various fans groups, supporter clubs, individuals together.
-
I can understand what you mean Frankie about Ellis and his plans for the Club. But it looks like the bank or Ellis, and with the bank, we could end up with no WS and an exit of important players.
-
I just don't get this, King etc. would be the preferred owner. When asked why, ' he is a Rangers supporter'. As already pointed out, he and his fellow Board members watched Murray get us to this moment in time, why would we want the same old, for another 5/10 years. Ellis might not turn out to be ideal either, but surely he is a better bet than King and his future court case.
-
Certainly with the report in the Mail, Ellis is the only one in the running.
-
Ellis has never spoke to Murray on Wedensday Ellis has been in talks with Murray for the last 7 days on Friday. I suppose someone at sometime will get it right. We are turning into a soap opera.

Dave King's bid to seize control of Rangers suffered a legal hammer blow when the tycoon was hauled into a South African courtroom on charges of fraud and racketeering. Charged under the Prevention of Organised Crime Act, the Glaswegian-born businessman appeared with former business associate Ian Morris in Randburg Magistrates Court. And none of the 37 charges detailed yesterday relate to the high-profile tax battle with the South African Revenue Service - leaving King facing a highly-damaging and potentially ruinous battle to prove his innocence. Bid blow: Dave King (third from left) Released on bail, the 55-year-old has been given until July 28 to prepare a defence before being placed in the dock at South Gauteng High Court. The Ibrox director returned to Glasgow for talks with majority shareholder Sir David Murray after the club's SPL title triumph two weeks ago. Keen to outmuscle Andrew Ellis' bid, the King consortium was reported to have met with Rangers chief executive Martin Bain, chairman Alastair Johnston and officials of Lloyds Bank, raising expectations that a rival bid to that of Ellis' might be forthcoming. Credited with an £18million bid for Rangers in tandem with fellow Ibrox director Paul Murray and transport tycoon Douglas Park, King has been targeted by a series of angry investors. SARS have been the most highly publicised litigant, but a statement from the country's National Prosecuting Authority yesterday made clear that the 37 counts labelled yesterday are above and beyond the other 322 tax fraud accusations and concern the mis-selling of software developed by King's Specialised Outsourcing Limited to investors in October 1997. 'The prosecution is the culmination of a series of complaints received from institutional investors, which includes the South African Reserve bank, Old Mutual, Sanlam, Southern Life and Coronation,' said a spokesperson. 'The main thrust of the allegations is based on the alleged deliberate manipulation of financial statements, financial reports and the recorded earnings of SOL with a view to enhancing the growth profile and share price of the company. 'These alleged misrepresentations caused the publication of reports which allegedly falsely portrayed the growth potential of investments.' I've said it before, the only time the majority will react, will depend on what happens on the park.
-
Murray said The Chairmans remit was to find a buyer. Yet Johnson says he is not allowed to contact Ellis. Will someone please enlighten me.
-
No matter who wrote it, this above all, ''Smith and a long-suffering support both deserve much, much better for what theyve put in. Above all, they deserve the truth''.
-
'Finally, and this is finally, I've no interest in influencing the opinions of others on here, only furthering my own understanding of this important subject'. IF you can understand this whole sorry mess, a PM would be nice.

It might matter if he cut you off, and snubbed NL. Even if it is all rubbish, at least NL is giving us the rubbish first.
-
Didn't see the last 2 posts. Maine......genuine question. NL posts comments from AE on here, 2 hours later there are direct quotes from Ellis on News sources, confirming what NL has posted [also other quotes not posted]. I honestly fail to see what NL has done wrong.
-
Would you give someone on the internet, a phone number given in confidence?? Seems like you are asking for an awful lot. Especially as the said person might realise who you got the number from.
-
Wabash will decide on what is worth posting, run it past him first please.
-
'' I am not permitted as chairman to call directly to Ellis other than through Murray International Holdings representatives '' he revealed. Is Johnson saying if King/Park were to bid, he wouldn't talk to them, unless it was arranged by Muir? There are ways and means, that is if you really want a meeting. If you were trying to piss someone off, I guess this is as good a way as any. BTW NL, if you weren't to post on here again, I wouldn't blame you.
-
NL....give AJ a ring and tell him how it's done.
-
And the Chairman flies back to the US, with no deals done with management or players.
-
Although before a bid is made, Ellis has no need to talk to anyone at Rangers. How much would AJ know, about contact between Murray and Ellis? Do Murray and AJ talk to each other? Questions Questions Questions.
-
When the Chairman says Ellis has had no contact with anyone at Rangers, does this include the Owner DM? Or would AJ actually know if there had been contact?

RFC - Time for clarity no ifs no buts

SSN had it yesterday at the bottom of the screen. 'Newspaper reports say that Rangers owe the taxman £50m'. If untrue, tell us and do something about it. -
Villa beat us 3-2 in Final.
-
Rangers have a youth team playing in Hong Kong, these are the results so far. We played Celtc today in the next stage and won 2-0. Shinnie both goals. http://www.hksoccersevens.com/en/schedule-results/fixtures-main-tournament/main-tournament-group-stage

''for a very public statement from the club on our present position and time scales''. Do you mean DM, AJ or WS? Whos turn is it today?

Is This Ellis The Herald is Talking About ?
chilledbear replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
OK I realise that, but it is the Herald [DK]. Also mentioning 'They claimed they wanted to take 91% of shares but retain Sir David as president and Walter Smith as manager'. And I don't take anything at face value in all this.
