  3. There is one thing you can say for them.......they will do anything to please their support.
  4. Celtic are considering expressing formal concerns about referee standards to the Scottish Football Association ahead of Sunday's Old Firm derby. A club source has told BBC Scotland of their frustration about major decisions after analysing footage - including the last two games against Rangers. But SFA president George Peat says the Celtic source was being mischievous. He found it "disappointing" that the source would try to "exert additional pressure on match officials". Sunday's game will be refereed by Dougie McDonald, whose last Old Firm match was last season's Co-operative Insurance Cup final, which Celtic won 2-0 after extra-time. The refereeing performances are a concern and a frustration to us Celtic source Celtic are seven points behind reigning Scottish Premier League champions Rangers, who have a game in hand, ahead of the match at Ibrox. The sides drew their last meeting, on 3 January, with Celtic believing that Marc-Antoine Fortune was denied a goal in the 1-1 draw. Referee Steve Conroy ruled that the striker had fouled Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor. Rangers won the last Ibrox encounter 2-1 in October, when Celtic had several claims for penalties denied by Craig Thomson. "We are considering contacting the SFA to highlight our concerns at some of the major decisions we feel have gone against us this season," said the Celtic source. "The refereeing performances are a concern and a frustration to us." Celtic also have concerns about offside decisions given against Robbie Keane, their recent loan signing from Tottenham Hotspur. "It seems that officials are struggling to keep up with his pace," said the source. "Several key offside decisions have gone against him purely because of his speed." Hugh Dallas, the SFA's head of refereeing development, this month himself expressed concerns about the standard of decision-making, suggesting that it had been a disappointing season for Scottish officials. MY SPORT: DEBATE Give your reaction to Celtic's concerns Celtic and SFA officials have met to discuss the Glasgow club's concerns, but the leak from the club has angered Peat. "We find it disappointing and somewhat bizarre that, in the build-up to an Old Firm derby, an unnamed Celtic 'source' would seek to exert additional pressure on match officials by issuing ill-timed and fundamentally inaccurate comments," said the SFA president. "The validity of these comments is questionable in any case, since the 'source' is not courageous enough to put his name to them. "In actual fact, discussions between the Scottish FA and Celtic have taken place, but the contents of these discussions will remain private, as was agreed with the club. "I am sure the Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell, will be concerned by the fact that someone has elected to speak on behalf of his club, seemingly without consent, and therefore undermined his authority."
  5. Another story in the same rag today. Did they report the Nacho Novo one? http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/scottish/scottish_news/735455/Muredo-MacLeod-Scott-Brown-and-Tommy-Burns-are-Facebook-targets.html Cops to probe internet jibes about Celts SCOTT BROWN AND TOMMY BURNS ARE LATEST HOOPS TO BE TARGETED CELTIC chiefs last night vowed to call in cops to probe a string of sickening online comments about Hoops heroes. Midfielder Scott Brown and tragic Tommy Burns are the latest targets of vile Facebook messages. They were posted this week just DAYS after similar disgusting slurs appeared on a website dedicated to ex-Celt Murdo MacLeod, below. Last night a Parkhead insider said: "This is an extremely serious matter. The messages are causing a great deal of offence to players' families and friends. "Police and Facebook must be alerted to this - it's obscene. The person behind it could end up in serious trouble."
  6. One things for sure whoever becomes the new owner, consortium or individual, they will not be using their own money.
  7. It's because of the tie-in with MIH I'm sure.
  8. Frankie Am I correct in thinking AJ said there had been no bid for Rangers, £18m or any other figure.
  9. I think I'll have to look up the dictionary for the word CLARITY, must have changed since I went to school.
  10. So a question, how do I go about buying Rangers Football Club? Are there two seperate entities, Murrays Shares and the debt? Do I negotiate with Murray for his shares, and then the Bank over the debt. Or are they both tied up with the bank, thro' MIHs debt. Simple question really.
  11. Were these results due to be issued today? Any significance in the timing?
  12. Does this mean anything as far as the debt figure goes?
  13. Have only seen Stirling a couple of times, but liked what I saw. Thanks for posting.
  14. I know Contact was at the meeting and posted what he was told/allowed. What about the others tho', I would be surprised if their names are not known. As for the timing, nothing would surprise me in this sorry mess.
  15. I have never met any of them, I was a member but after the resignations realised it was going nowhere. This call for clarity from Murray/Muir/Lloyds whoever, yet certain Supporters have a private meeting with Muir, Supporters who's names must be known, yet we are still kept in the dark.
  16. Has always been the case, and I also don't see it changing.
  17. Did the Chairman not say that was one of his duties?
  18. This RST fall-out and its aftermath is like the orchestra playing, while the good ship Rangers sinks slowly beneath the waves.
  19. We can produce players like Wilson, but if you can't hold on to them long enough!! We have done ok over the last few years. Only problem is if we don't want them we give them away for sweeties.
  20. The question is will WS walk in the summer, will he wait till there are new owners[?], or will he leave no matter who's in charge.
  21. It's a very big problem, can we afford to miss out on CL money while making changes. It will be very very difficult, look across the City, new manager, new players, it takes time.
  22. No but even the crumbs make them look big in some eyes.
  23. It looks to me that certain individuals are seeking a foot in the door, a place at the top table, and will do anything to get it. Reminds me of journalists backing certain managers for the Scotland/England job, only because they would have inside information.
  24. But surely that's the problem, leaks posted online, where a few hundred genuine Rangers Supporters read them. The vast majority having no idea what is happening, it is only when a WS says a few words in an after match interview that folk get an inkling. Who are these people that get meetings with high heid yins inside Ibrox, where did they come by their influence, are they worthy of that influence??
  25. Do we think what was going on last night on RM, would have happened, if people were talking face to face? Accusations, name calling [what age are these people], it might have started but I am sure it wouldn't have lasted for long. :box:
